Kayla is fantastic!! I'm sooo picky when it comes to my nails. She has such attention to detail, does a beautiful job with nail designs, and my nails come out consistently amazing. Never once had a lumpy nail or imperfection and she's also so incredibly sweet. The nail salon is so nice and clean as well! Love that it's not super big and overstimulating. This is a friendly local nail salon that also offers waxing services! I treated my boyfriend and I to mani pedis and I have mixed feelings about the results. The location itself is easy to find, has parking, and the store interior is beautiful and looks clean! We both got basic pedicures and I got a gel manicure with cat eye design (extra $10) while my boyfriend got a regular manicure with nail buff shine (extra $6). My manicure came out nice but the male nail technician didn't seem to know how to do the cat eye well--it's shiny but the reflectiveness of the cat eye is all over and isn't as 3D looking. Both my boyfriend and I thought the salon cut back at our cuticles too much. I started getting dry skin and peeling bits days after the services and my boyfriend actually has an infected toe because they cut very deep into the side of his toenail. Nails were shaped nicely but the heavy cutting of the cuticles makes me not want to return. Regarding price, I think they have the best prices around and are reasonable for the services! If you pay cash, you also get a discount. Overall, relaxing experience with friendly staff but the aftermath was not great. I would recommend telling them to push back on your cuticles but not cut them too much. read more

Sadly, just a few months after our owning and remodeling, they sold again. The new owner is not very customer friendly. While in the middle of having my nails done, she started speaking loudly too my technician telling her basically that she needed to hurry because there was a new customer who just called in and wanted their nails done. The prices never are the same to visit in a row, as well as the quality of work has suffered significantly as they are told to rush. Definitely will not ever be going back read more

The salon itself seemed clean and the tools they used seemed clean too so that's a plus. The actual customer service was ok too, but the end outcome was just ok. I haven't been to a nail salon in forever and I know prices have gone up but $114 (it was $110 but they charge for using a card) for gel manicure and pedicure is kinda a lot. I did get a little flower design and French tip but still. My technician really struggled with my flower design. I got the inspiration picture from this yelp page. After her 3rd try I told her to do whatever you feel comfortable with. If you're getting something basic then give this place a try but if you want something fancy I don't think this is the place. read more

Had a great experience at Ume Nail, loved the staff and the vibe! I was visiting out of town and booked an appointment for a pedicure and an eyebrow wax. Not only did Angela give me a great pedicure, she also fixed one of my nails for me that tore off during TSA! The woman who did my eyebrow wax (I forgot to grab her name) was so lovely and the overall atmosphere was really warm and welcoming. Definitely recommend! read more

I drive a distance to go here. It's worth it, trust me. They nail the basics - the salon is clean and bright, they honor appointment times (you know how many places don't !) But beyond that, they actually like each other. So the vibe is relaxed and calm. They care about the work they do. Nails, toes, brows - all top notch with attention to detail. I went last week for my appointment and brought my daughter - and they accommodated her with no questions. But even more importantly to me, everyone there talked to her friends. I read about her before booking the appointment and it said she was the employee with the most time in the company. However, her attitude was tremendously horrible. I have to clarify that I arrived on time to the place, but the girl at the lobby was attending another client and was giving her a full introduction about all the packages and promotions they have, and afterwards she proceeded to charge her for the service she had taken. The receptionist took around five to six minutes doing it, until I had to interrupt her and tell her that I had an appointment at 5:30 pm with Shardonnay. It is at that moment that she notified Shardonnay of my arrival. When Shardonnay received me, she had an extremely negative attitude with me, since from the moment she greeted me, she did not allow me to go to the bathroom (which I needed) and started giving me a lecture about punctuality, without even asking me or asking herself or asking receptionist girl, if I had arrived late or if something had happened at the reception. It was to the point that she was not even able to greet me, but very frustrated about her tight schedule, she basically started scolding me and telling me that the service was not going to be the best because she only had 8 minutes to attend me since she had another client after me and that I "had arrived late"... Now, it is important to clarify that if that had been the case, the place policies give a 8-minute window to the client to arrive and still receive a good service. However, she kept saying that the service wouldn't be the best. At first I stayed quiet, but after she kept literally blaming and scolding me, I told her to do her job, but that I did not agree with her attitude, cause of course she had a very bad attitude cause of her frustration. She kept arguing and arguing until I literally had to tell her "just do your job". Very shamelessly she tried not to attend me because she now felt that I was angry, thing that I did not allow her to do because I did not drive from Chula Vista to Miramar, 30 minutes, for her to cancel my appointment just because she was in a bad mood. I sat down and took my service. She did a Brazilian service in 5 minutes. It hurt a lot, of course, because she was already upset and also in a rush, so she was very rough when pulling the wax. Afterwards she realized her mistake and started apologized, to which I literally responded that she didn't have to, what she did was already done. I only made her aware that I arrived on time, the receptionist took time attending another client, and I paid the price for it. So she can keep the apologies and that for next time she learn the lesson and at least she can greet and say what she have to say in a proper way. Would I go back? ABSOLUTELY NO, and especially not with her. She may have been working there for many years, but her service and customer attention is THE WORST. She could have gained a loyal client, but because of her rudeness she did not.

I've been getting gel pedicures for a while now and NEVER has anyone tore a piece of my nail OFF! As a technician, even if my nail was thin she could of used a machine to remove the gel instead of tearing it off the way she did. I was so upset! She tried to tell me she would add a piece, which I declined so I just told her to cut what she could without leaving my nail too short. I will never return here. Maybe some folks like this method of removal but I did not and will not be returning for a pedicure. I will add the chairs were comfortable and I also got a gel manicure which he added so many layers too! There was one lady too that came by and was just talking to the technician who did my nails and the vibe just felt uncomfortable! I will never return!

When my nail technician completed my manicure, she announced, "same!" as if she declared out-loud my powdered pearlescent nails are now magically transformed into the requested nude chrome color. I wish they would've told me upfront that this cannot be done. I would not request for anything out of the basic mani pedi here.

I went to this place and idk if it is old gel or what it is but 2 nails chipped off after 3 days. There is one lady there that is good which is the managers mom. I have gone to two other nail salons after this one and have not had any issues- just nails done and they look fine. I just don't want them to break. I've been going to nail salons for years and have never had the problem I had here. after I complained they did make it right so my husband went back to book another appt for me and the manager said "you know she's kind of picky" instead of taking responsibility for their mistakes. It's disappointing to know a manager would say something like that. I wish the salon well but I will not be going back read more

Hands down the best manicure and pedicure I've had in a long time. This is a new salon and you can tell they really care about doing things right. They were incredibly meticulous and the space is spotless.
