My husband usually comes here for his eyebrow clean-ups, so I decided to treat myself to a mani/pedi with an ombré design. The team here is always so friendly and inviting. They even remembered that I brought my mom early this year when she was visiting from out of state! They really do make you feel like family. I wanted to give a full 5 stars, but I noticed a few small nicks in my gel manicure as I was driving off, and the top coat wasn't quite as smooth as I'm used to. That said, I'm sure if I had mentioned it while I was still there, they would've gladly fixed it on the spot: that's just the kind of great service and welcoming vibe they have. Love this place, feels like home to me, granted I am Vietnamese and do understand what they are saying. I'd recommend bringing someone who knows how to speak if you want to maximum experience, but these women know what they're doing! They're all sweet, I ended up getting a luxury pedicure for myself, I believe it was #6, came with collagen and orange crème. My wife wanted the full set and care, they treated her first class! I truly appreciate businesses--and owners--who genuinely care. I've been coming to Moon Nails for quite some time (off and on, depending on where I've lived), and while most visits have been great, my last experience didn't meet the standard I was used to. I left feeling disappointed and chose to write a review instead of addressing it directly with Cindy at the time. To her credit, Cindy reached out to me right away after seeing my feedback. She offered a sincere apology and asked that I bring any future concerns directly to her so they can make it right. I was also invited back, and Cindy, went above and beyond in expressing their apologies. I left with beautifully done nails and toes--courtesy of Lan, Ann, and Cindy--and a renewed appreciation for a business that truly values its customers. I went to Moon Nails with no appointment and was immediately taken care of by Vivian. I asked for short almond nails in a white color with chrome and she did a great job! It took about an hour and it was $60 for an acrylic fill with the chrome. Would come here again. read more

I've been coming to the same ladies for over two years and always have a great experience. Tina does my pedicures and she consistently does an amazing job. My favorite part is her foot and leg massage -- it's so relaxing and something I really look forward to every visit. Rose does my manicures and she's fantastic, especially with more detailed or difficult designs. She's a true perfectionist and always takes her time to make sure everything looks just right. I was very uncomfortable getting my nails done. The nail lady was amazing and very sweet but the upselling was horrendous. I denied getting a massage because I'm not a huge fan. DONT GET YOUR NAILS DONE BY ANN!! Here's my first and last experience. My sister and I came in to get our nails done for her birthday. We both wanted acrylic sets and immediately Nina started on her while I had to wait 20 minutes. After waiting for awhile, Ann started on me but seemed very rushed, her application of the tips were horrible (see photos) and she barely put any glue on so as she was filling, one of the tips flew off and she had to redo it. She also cut the tips crooked and too short only on a few nails. I also don't think she should have been working because of this nasty cough she had (one of the ones where you cough up mucus). So she was coughing the whole time. Right as she finishes applying the tips, she just stands up and leaves. And doesn't come back for a whole 10 minutes while I'm asking where she went and if someone else could do my nails. So the manager sat down and applied the acrylic. You could see by his facial reaction with how bad the application was. And I brought to his attention that some of the nails were WAY too short compared to the others. So he had to get the acrylic back out because I didn't want him to take the whole nail off to redo it. So he rebuilt it to make it longer (which is the photo where you could see my ring and middle nails are thicker than the rest). Ann eventually came back and it seemed like he was teaching her how to do it correctly and she got back to finishing the nails. By this time my sister is already done with her nails. It's already been well over an hour at this point and I'm not even halfway through. Ann wasn't shaping the nails the way I kindly asked and I kept asking her to fix the crooked ones she already shaped and she straight up says, "so this is how I do it, I do the nails one at a time." Looking at me as if I was stupid not knowing how nails work and having a shape preference. Speaking in a very condescending tone, you could tell she was very annoyed but I'm not sure why since the whole point of a service industry is paying good money for a job well done. I also made a point to be very respectful during this whole encounter because I understand a bad day but I still need to stand up for a service that I'm paying for. At that moment I went silent because I am not paying money to be spoken to like that. Once she finished shaping I got up and said that I'm not letting her finish the rest. So yes, I left with just an acrylic base. Here is what I was left with (see photos). I do my own gelx nails at home so I know what a job well done looks like and these are so bad. They still charged me $40 along with my sisters set that looked great. All in all, I will never be coming back. These people seem to not care about quality nor experience. Please go somewhere else. read more

Do not recommend for dip powder nails. The worst I've ever gotten. The lady was really going to finish up my nails without evenly filling down the nails. They looked lumpy and uneven. After I asked her she said she needs to let them dry. I've never had a nail tech tell me they need to wait to have my nails dry before being filed down. She went to go someone's pedicure came back and they were still not filed down evenly. Her excuse was that they were dip powder... if she doesn't know how to do dip powder then she probably shouldn't take clients that request it. Also got a gel pedicure and they were alright. read more

I have to clarify that I arrived on time to the place, but the girl at the lobby was attending another client and was giving her a full introduction about all the packages and promotions they have, and afterwards she proceeded to charge her for the service she had taken. The receptionist took around five to six minutes doing it, until I had to interrupt her and tell her that I had an appointment at 5:30 pm with Shardonnay. It is at that moment that she notified Shardonnay of my arrival. When Shardonnay received me, she had an extremely negative attitude with me, since from the moment she greeted me, she did not allow me to go to the bathroom (which I needed) and started giving me a lecture about punctuality, without even asking me or asking herself or asking receptionist girl, if I had arrived late or if something had happened at the reception. It was to the point that she was not even able to greet me, but very frustrated about her tight schedule, she basically started scolding me and telling me that the service was not going to be the best because she only had 8 minutes to attend me since she had another client after me and that I "had arrived late"... Now, it is important to clarify that if that had been the case, the place policies give a 8-minute window to the client to arrive and still receive a good service. However, she kept saying that the service wouldn't be the best. At first I stayed quiet, but after she kept literally blaming and scolding me, I told her to do her job, but that I did not agree with her attitude, cause of course she had a very bad attitude cause of her frustration. She kept arguing and arguing until I literally had to tell her "just do your job". Very shamelessly she tried not to attend me because she now felt that I was angry, thing that I did not allow her to do because I did not drive from Chula Vista to Miramar, 30 minutes, for her to cancel my appointment just because she was in a bad mood. I sat down and took my service. She did a Brazilian service in 5 minutes. It hurt a lot, of course, because she was already upset and also in a rush, so she was very rough when pulling the wax. Afterwards she realized her mistake and started apologized, to which I literally responded that she didn't have to, what she did was already done. I only made her aware that I arrived on time, the receptionist took time attending another client, and I paid the price for it. So she can keep the apologies and that for next time she learn the lesson and at least she can greet and say what she have to say in a proper way. Would I go back? ABSOLUTELY NO, and especially not with her. She may have been working there for many years, but her service and customer attention is THE WORST. She could have gained a loyal client, but because of her rudeness she did not.

I actually discovered Suzie a while ago but didn't end up scheduling until sometime later (last month). So far, I've had two sessions with Suzie and her work is as-expected in terms of quality, speed, and professionalism. Price-wise, she is on par with others that are certified in the area. What Suzie stands out for is her actual studio, personality, and other "personal" touches. Hands down, Suzie has the cleanest, prettiest, and most calming studio / beauty salon I've been to (and I've been to 4 different lash ladies before her!). I think this reflects how Suzie is both as a person and as a beauty professional. Suzie is super sweet and nice to chat with, which is great when passing time during the lash fills. I can tell she listens and cares for her clients! For instance, she asked me why I stopped getting extensions as she was concerned about any allergies. I told her I don't have any allergies (to the glue), but that my lashes just became weak overtime. I was glad when she told me my lashes are not "as bad" as I keep thinking and that she has seen "worse"! Suzie also provides a cute care package with maintenance instructions, pricing, and two spoolies for brushing your lashes. Furthermore, her salon has lash-related products in her store, such as lash shampoo and a lash brush (sturdier version, not the ones that you can throw away/one-use). I bought lash shampoo during my first visit and they've definitely helped keep my lashes clean! Another thing that stood out to me is that Suzie encourages using lash serums! I told her that I was advised in the past that that wasn't OK to do. She said, "Nope, that's a lie." That stuck with me since I knew my lashes were taking a beating from the extensions, and was disappointed when I was told I (apparently) couldn't use lash serum with extensions. If you are close to her studio and can front the initial and maintenance costs, I highly recommend Suzie! Thank you, Suzie, for keeping my lashes full and beautiful :)

I've been getting gel pedicures for a while now and NEVER has anyone tore a piece of my nail OFF! As a technician, even if my nail was thin she could of used a machine to remove the gel instead of tearing it off the way she did. I was so upset! She tried to tell me she would add a piece, which I declined so I just told her to cut what she could without leaving my nail too short. I will never return here. Maybe some folks like this method of removal but I did not and will not be returning for a pedicure. I will add the chairs were comfortable and I also got a gel manicure which he added so many layers too! There was one lady too that came by and was just talking to the technician who did my nails and the vibe just felt uncomfortable! I will never return!

When my nail technician completed my manicure, she announced, "same!" as if she declared out-loud my powdered pearlescent nails are now magically transformed into the requested nude chrome color. I wish they would've told me upfront that this cannot be done. I would not request for anything out of the basic mani pedi here.

I have used Moon Nails for my mani/pedi services for years. John is a pro with the dipping gels, and Thi has the best spa pedicures you can imagine! My appointments last about 90 minutes, and I walk away feeling 100% pampered and totally satisfied. I make sure to have a standing appointment with John and Thi, and I am always greeted with a ready spa chair and happy conversation. The shop is clean and cheerful. Very nice and Polite! My wife was amazed at her nails once she was done. I came in for my pedicure and thought it was great. To be honest, I could tell the workers were extremely tired judging by their face and their sweats. My wife looked beautiful before and even more beautiful after!
