I came in just to remove my dip manicure and to get my nails cut. Annie was the one who assisted me. She was kind at first letting me know I would be next. As she was removing my dip, I felt like she was being way too aggressive with her automatic tool and asked if it would be better to soak my nail first. She said no and that she wasnt touching my nail layer. Ive gotten my acrylic and dip nails removed before and they never just drilled it off the way she did. She said in an angry tone that if I did my way I would sit in the chair for 30 minutes+. I then said OK if you're saying you aren't taking my nail layer off, we can do it that way. She then had a tantrum and threw my hands in the bowl and walked away to grab a bite. I waited five minutes until she came back to get her phone and then said i was confused on what was going on. She then said i thought you wanted to soak which I then said I didn't need to after she explained the process. She finished my nails quickly and didn't even file my nails nicely. I paid $15 for this service which I probably would only pay $7-$10 elsewhere. Please avoid Annie if you come here or beware that she's snappy if you have any questions. read more

So, the staff is welcoming. Wait was not long. Prices are ABSURD! Gel manicure natural nails $28... eyebrow wax $10. Gel basic ( and oh boy do I mean basic) pedicure with gel polish $37!!!! WTH Prices should be something like this Eyebrows should be no more than $8, gel manicure always 25. A regular pedicure where they do the bare minimum no more than $20. Gel polish can be $5 to $10... not an extra 17..I received no paffrin, or callus treatment, regular lotion. No hot towel, hot rocks nada. What is this a 3rd world country?? They do put plastic disposable covers over the pedi bowl that I love. Very sanitary. They don't offer a drink or a bottle of water, nada. No one put my massage chair on. Or asked. Sigh.. honestly if I hadn't worn sandals and needed my toes done I would have left. Never ever again. My nails and toes are decent. But not worth the price.. this isn't even San Diego. This is Santee! Sheesh. Then the woman who did my manicure rushed up front when it was time for me to pay, standing by me waiting for a tip. Which I had planned to give $2 because she seemed newer than the others. Having to ask how to apply gel top coat and the matte finish. But do you have to hover like that! Yeah pretty disappointed in this place. I came here because my nail place I usually go to didn't open till ten and I saw their lights were on and door open. People were already getting their nails done when I walked in at 9:40 I asked if they were open to double check they said yes. I got a pedicure and gel manicure the pedicure looks great no complaints there and they were super quick which I liked. But this was probably the worst manicure I have ever had. My nails are crooked and she didn't even touch my cuticles, not a push back or anything.never asked what shape I wanted and got this kind of in between one. I never knew what I was paying the whole time, was never offered any options. When they asked if I wanted to pay card or cash they told me the price was 49$ which is about 15$ less than what I normally pay so ok. But then when she charged my card it said 50$. Ok? I've been coming to this salon for a couple years. I don't do my nails often but this place was always on my list of places to go to. My most recent visit here was on Mother's Day. I got a basic gel manicure and pedicure. When the lady was doing my manicure she clipped a chunk of my skin then proceeded to dowse it with nail glue, which seemed very unsanitary to me. As I was getting my pedicure done the guy cuts halfway down the side of my big toenail. I think he realized that there was no need to cut because if he would've kept pulling my nail it would've reached the part of my nail that is connected to my skin. After pulling the nail out he cleaned it with his tool which is where I believe things got worse for me. I woke up the next morning to a swollen toe and pus coming out of it. For the next couple days I would try to dig it out myself, the pus and irritation remained. I finally had to go to urgent care to have them pull out the remaining nail and to prescribe antibiotics. Moral of the story, be careful what salon you choose to go to. As someone who was in beauty school I know the people who get certified and license in this industry, know the importance of a clean, work environment , as well as the tools that they use. I'm sure some of us may know that salons like this one don't use the safe practices that they should be using. read more

Just got done with my pedicure with Annie. I've been going to crystals for many many years and finally decided I needed to go somewhere else after several sub par experiences. I have visited lux 3 times before , just never found someone to make me stick! But Annie was it. She is so sweet and listens to exactly what you want. I'm pregnant , swollen, and tired all around but she made me so relaxed and have a wonderful experience. Annie chatted with me the whole time and nothing was uncomfortable. She's just really nice and helpful. I changed my mind twice about colors , and she happily obliged and gave me the color samples. I hate lazy nail designs , but she gave me something great yet simple and I felt happy to pay the $5 for design fee. I will be making all my appointments with her from here on out. I always hate coming to this place because even if you make an appointment, they don't honor it. But my mom thought she liked it so we got the European pedicures, as did my sister. We made appointments for 4:15 and we're all able to sit down together. They started on my mom and sister while I waited for 30 minutes for them to get to me.... They kept saying just a couple more minutes while they were taking other walk ins and sitting them right down to do their nails. EHhh-Ok...This is a pretty popular place, it's always busy, I came in on a Saturday for a pedicure and didn't have to wait at all. The spa pedicure chairs are on the older side, they roll and vibrate but are not as nice as the newer models. They gave me options to upgrade my pedi but there was no preasure. The massage was really good and my toes turned out nice too. This is a Vietnamese run shop so comminication is a little hindered but I felt taken care of. Decor left somthing to be desired, but I'm not there for the art work. Tips cant be added to a credit card so bring cash, they have an ATM on site, I think the fees were about $2.00 read more
