Additionally, the club's sound system lacked the necessary power to fill the space effectively. As a result, the system was forced to operate at high levels to deliver adequate volume, leading to further distortion and a diminished sound experience for the audience. In conclusion, the nightclub needs to make investments in their sound system if they want to improve the overall audio experience for their guests. This includes upgrading the components of the sound system, properly tuning and configuring the EQ, routing and cabling, investing in better loudspeakers and subwoofers, implementing acoustic treatment solutions in the club's space, and hiring a skilled audio technician to manage the sound system effectively. I'd been told it's days straight of DRUNK, which it was (for some, not me), but it's lots more: spread around the city (shuttle included in the pass price), there are challenge bouts on Fremont, which are open to the public, park pick-up scrimmages, bands at the Double Down Saloon, a Derby Wedding for all the derby wives, the Black and Blue Ball (only available for VIP pass holders...although I did sneak in), a photo scavenger hunt, AND! workshops. On-skates workshops, addressing different skills levels and all taking place in the Imperial Palace's parking garage (those workshops were overcrowded for the most part, and didn't offer much for those of us still working on basics), but also off-skates, addressing all sorts of league necessities: refs, merch, media, recruiting, production, fundraising, etc., led by members of various leagues. A WFTDA bout was held at a local indoor roller hockey rink. There was an art show, with proceeds going to a paralyzed skater (also a raffle for her), but it wasn't well-advertised and was held when 'Con attendees wouldn't be around; I'd like to see that better organized next year so everyone can appreciate - and buy! - the art. Other wishes: one Wednesday workshop was changed to another day, which I knew, but there was no notice of what time. I showed up for a 12pm workshop to find out the rescheduled one had been at 10, and I could've gone. While I wasn't particularly interested in the jeerleaders competition, I never saw anything telling me where/when it was. The listing of the workshops in the program was confusing because they weren't by day, but by subject. The shuttles could've come every 20 minutes instead of 30, the waiting crowds got so big that people were denied getting on. These are all minor and I'm guessing will be fixed next year. While I had some issues with the Imperial Palace (reviewed that separately) (we did get a group rate for rooms), overall the 'Con was pretty good, and it was a nice chance to meet people from other leagues, including legendary refs (oh yeah, and skaters). We traded buttons and shirts and email addresses, waited in line for Sharpie tattoos, actually received a discount for real tats at a local studio, annoyed the security guards, sunk thousands of dollars in the hotel bars, and took over the karaoke club. It was really cool to walk around the hotel and see other derby people (everybody wore league shirts, constantly) everywhere you looked, like we'd taken over. Which we will...

I can't complain because I was treated to comp VIP tickets by the casino so that meant I had close up seats and free food and booze, but I'm not sure the "rack rate" ticket prices would be worth it. There are two seating areas: in fold out chairs closer to the stage and then a grassy "lawn" area in back. The actual seating area seats were expensive so most of them went empty. Next year the organizers might want to consider making the lawn area bigger and remove a lot of those empty chairs. The lineup was fun and was touted as a Salute to the 80s. John Waite, Berlin, and the Romantics all played pretty sad sets as none of them were really that good anymore. At least it was fun to sing along to their hits. The best part of the lineup was the legendary (fresh off her Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction) Joan Jett! This lady is still ROCKING, people! She came out on stage in a badass silver sequined jumpsuit and her voice sounded great. She blasted out a crazy setlist of all of her biggest hits as well as songs from her days in the Runaways. The stage was small but fine and the plastic chair reserved seating did the job. There were plenty of bars around for booze. I ordered a margarita from 3 different bars and each bar was out of some crucial ingredient. One didn't have tequila, one didn't have limes and another didn't have sour mix. Huh? What is up with that? A bar without basic ingredients for one of the world's most popular drinks? I finally gave up and just drank Diet Pepsi. The food booths had very long lines because of inefficient food prep procedures, but the food was pretty tasty considering the limited outdoor cooking areas. Food was pricey as you'd expect. The hotel kept the pool open during the concert so you could go for a swim if you wanted. You couldn't see the stage from the pool but you could hear the bands just fine (the sound system was sort of quiet which was nice, no busted eardrums here and no earplugs were necessary). I'd go to this event again, especially if it was comped!

They were too inappropriate in their dancing/performance having kids and youngest in the audience. I don't get the bitch, fuck etc in this generation of singers and not sure why they call dancing to sex moves. Having say that, other performances were great, obviously Keith Urban, New Kids on the block, Chris Martin, Hozier. The stages were very nice, creative and different. IHeart did a great job as far as that. Their DJ had the best music of the night. Also, I'm not sure why The Weekend and Big Sean are that famous. Their performances were just okay. T-Mobile is a great venue. Easy access and departure. The venue is super staffed and lots of security. They have different choices for snacks, meals. I get stomach sick when I eat those precooked meals. But it seems like lots of people were enjoying the venue's food. I think I'll stay with IHeart Radio .. iam not into crowds or 5-6 hours at a concert. I was surprised about the attendance were all ages!!!

TSA? This old lady gave me such a hard time. She said "Open it!" to my Chanel Bag and then, I bought 2 brand new TORY BURCH bags in a shopping bag and she said she didn't know what those are so she had me open 2 NICELY WRAPPED TB bags and started POKING HARSHLY inside the brand new TB bags with her drum stick only to realize there's NOTHING inside 2 BRAND new bags except the paper stuffing!!!!!!!!Wonk wonk wonk...What a very RUDE and MEAN person. Not nice at all... JLO: My childhood DIVA and I know almost all her songs! From Let's Get Loud, to If You had my love, to in the floor and more! She looks amazing at 56. Wow she has a lot of energy and stamina. She's also a strong woman sharing her life story through her ART and DANCE. She took no breaks from 8:15pm-10:15pm!!! She performed throughout and with a lot of clothes changing in between. She almost slipped twice but, her ability to balance saved it all. I was "gifted" the opportunity to see this show just the other day…read more My first show since becoming a Las Vegas resident. Damned if we didn't get Front Row & Center seating!! It's in the V Theater. Located in the Miracle Mall at Planet Hollywood. Just an fyi, even with what looks like a lot of construction in that general vicinity, getting in and out was a cinch. And this was a 5:30 showing. I was blown away. This was a great show. And a new(er) cast from what I understand. The 5 players had a great chemistry, and it poured into the audience. I'm just glad they didn't come to drag me up on stage like some. (be warned). One act I thought was funny as hell. Four players are doing all of the background music with one who is seated as the solo vocalist. After a minute into the song an easel backed sign slides onto the stage. "This song is heard entirely in English" it says. I laughed, wtf? After a bit, one of the four replaces a stick on sign that read as "English" replaced it with "French". So the vocalist then proceeds. Beautiful. Then the stick on gets changed to Korean, then Japanese, and closes out the song in "Pig Latin". The whole place busted out laughing, as did the cast. They genuinely looked like they had fun. As they should. If this was a new cast, it could only get better I'd assume. So if you find yourself needing an "affordable" (easy for me to say) show of caliber but without the crowd of an A-List Las Vegas act. Toxic Audio should make your short list. 4 stars? Toxic Audio is a high energy group of 5 really talented performers that will simply astound you…read more They perform a huge number of songs in a nonstop show without any musical instruments - they do everything with their voices. This show like the Blue Man Group is hard to describe to someone. Once you see it and hear it ... you will go WOW !!! I saw their show a couple of years ago at the Luxor and they have just gotten better and better. The show has a great deal of humor and beautiful music. Before they bring the audience to their feet for a standing ovation with their final number "Turn the Beat Around," they perform "Stand By Me" In Stand By Me - they move out into the audience and just let their voices blend in beautiful harmony. It is breathtaking..... a super exerience. Their last number by The Miami Sound Machine features their percussion vocalist and when the song Lyrics get to " love to hear percussion" he does a terrific job ending with a back flip.. You have to see this group to believe the sounds you are hearing ... Amazing .......... and totally worth the price of admission.
