I was looking for wedding alterations and read tons of reviews. I knew alterations would be pricey so I had gotten a few different quotes -- in the end, I felt that Marine understood the needs of my dress and how I would feel wearing it. My ballgown was heavy and the bustles really made it perfect. I ended up bringing another evening gown to Marine for help because I wasn't sure if I would trust anyone else. Highly recommend!
I cannot recommend this alterations place enough. Marine tailored my wedding dress perfectly- it fit like it was made just for me. What truly impressed me was her skill and attention to detail. She was even able to un stitch the lace and move it up, which completely transformed the dress and made it absolutely perfect. She is incredibly sweet and made the entire process stress-free and comfortable. I shopped around pricewise for a while before choosing this place. She had the best price compared to dozens of other places. I highly recommend using her!

I had such a great experience having both wedding dresses altered here. For reference, I am petite and parts of my body are not always complying. I was worried about the feasibility of whether the dresses I got were going to work out as they were not purchased new. A huge part of my dresses not being purchase new was because I was very frustrated when going to 6 stores to try on different dresses... nothing looked right or normal and so I went on a whim and bought 2 that I had a good feeling about. Given this.. I knew I had to find true experts in tailoring. The family team at luxury alterations really helped make me feel like a bride. For the first time in a public space I tried on my dresses before my wedding and got that feeling you see so often on "say yes to the dress" . This feeling was absent through all my visits to the stores. So I am eternally grateful for the talent , patience, and kindness of the staff from luxury alterations. I needed to come in for about 3 fittings.. was not charged for this but just to ensure I felt like a bride. One of the best decisions I made throughout the wedding planning process was going to this establishment. Thank you team!
After my original alterations plans fell through, I found Luxury Alterations 2 1/2 weeks before my wedding! I needed sleeves added to my dress, as well as a few other alterations and I was totally panicked! After that initial visit, I was completely at peace! They were professional and knowledgeable, and I immediately knew they were capable of creating the alterations to this dream dress! When I picked up the dress, it was perfect. Their attention to detail and high-quality work was so evident! The dress was a dream to wear on our wedding day and I'm so grateful to Luxury Alterations! I couldn't recommend their business more! They are professional and extremely knowledgeable to handle high-quality garments with care and precision!
Khachik and Marine were the dream team for me. I brought in my wedding dress to have the bust taken in significantly and I knew it would be tough since my dress had quite a bit of boning. They did an amazing job! In addition to taking in my bust, they also hemmed my dress, added in a finger loop so I could "bustle" the dress at the end of the night, and made some alterations to my skirt including tightening the wait and removing buttons. Both of them are very kind and honest. I had some ideas for smaller alterations, and both of them gave their advice for each item I mentioned. I had multiple fittings, and each time the process felt collaborative which isn't something I have experienced with a lot of tailors. I never felt like they were trying to rush me, upsell me, or take advantage of me - on the contrary, my maid of honor brought a dress to be taken in and they advised her against it after pinning the dress to show her how the fabric would be affected with the alterations. Their prices are also very fair for the quality of the work and the time and attention they give you. I'm so glad I trusted them with my wedding dress and as a result I felt beautiful on my wedding day. If you are looking for someone to alter an important garment (or anything really), I could not recommend Marine and Khachik enough. Super professional and kind, and I know anything I bring them will come out amazing!
Where do I begin with this amazing duo?! I recently had the pleasure of working with Marine and her husband for the alterations on both my reception dress and pre-wedding event outfit (for my Sangeet), and I couldn't be more thrilled with the results. The reception dress, in particular, was a challenge--it was entirely hand-done with two separate pieces and very heavy beading--but Marine and her husband handled it with incredible skill and precision. The alterations were flawless, and the dress fit like a glove. What truly impressed me was how careful and meticulous they were with every detail. They not only altered the outfits to perfection but also preserved the integrity and craftsmanship of the outfits that came all the way from India, which was so important to me. One year later and I followed through with what I said in my original review - I came to get my wedding dress altered with Marine and Khach! It was so fun working with these two, and I would literally trust them with all of my alteration needs especially after trusting them with my wedding dress. I brought my dress in mid-October and needed it before we flew out for our Cabo wedding at the end of February. I had a total of 4 appointments - the first in October when I brought it in, one in January, and the last two (including pick up) in February. Alterations included shortening the dress, taking up the straps and hem, and taking in the bodice. The straps, slit, and hemming were pretty straight forward but the bodice.. that was tricky. Mostly because I kept asking to push back taking it in because I insisted I would lose more weight, haha. But Marine and her husband were so accommodating! We ended up doing the final bodice pinning on February 7th, and they were able to finish it within a week! I went in on February 14th for one last fitting and was able to take it home. The fit was PERFECT, like the dress was made for me! Oh - I also got my reception romper altered at the same time and I loved it! It was just a hem on the asymmetrical side, but it made all the difference! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING! I will definitely be back! I purchased my bridal dress about 8 months before my wedding. By the time I took it to Marine and her husband (3 months before the wedding), I had already lost 12 lbs. As you could see from the attached pictures, they had to size it down quite significantly for me. On top of that, they also had to shorten my sleeves and dress length because I'm a petite girly haha The final dress fit like a glove on me, and I was extremely happy with the result. I now truly believe the choice of a tailor is just as crucial as the dress itself! On a side note, I had no idea what a bustle was until Marine educated me. She added a very sturdy 3-point American bustle for me, because I told her our first dance was a fast paced song. The bustle held up very well, and was effortless to convert from the regular train, just as she taught me. Beyond my wedding dress, I also went back to them to tailor my rehearsal dinner dress, and hen some daily pants. ALL my experience with them were smooth and delightful. I came to Luxury Alterations a month before my wedding and Mari and her husband took my dress in and got to work straight away. The dress needed to be brought in on the sides quite a bit, hemmed, and bustles added. They worked quickly and literally made my dress fit like a glove!! I went in to see Marine at her previous location in San Mateo, CA. I needed to bustle my wedding dress and thought I might need it hemmed, as well as take in the sides and fix the bodice. Marine was incredibly fast to turn my dress around (and gave good advice, that I didn't need any hemming which was awesome because I was able to save a little money there). She worked out multiple options on the bodice/cups and I'm really happy with how everything turned out! I also recommended my husband do get his suit tailored with Marine and I think it ended up looking great as well. I went with this place because of all the good Yelp reviews, but beware, they are not as professional as they seem. First, the cost of my wedding dress alterations was a lot higher than the quote they gave me when I had called earlier. When I came in, they ended up quoting me $950 for the entire alteration + $50 per bustle. By that point I was already all pinned up and did not want to go through the trouble of finding another better price, so I agreed. When I came for fittings, things went well. I had a meeting conflict so we re-scheduled the final fitting for a week later. Come final fitting day, I arrive and the lady asked me why I did not come to the previous fitting. I reminded her that we had agreed to change that meeting time to the current time, and she reluctantly nodded. It was a little surprisingly to see how disorganized they were with appointments. When I finally saw the dress, it was immediately obvious that the front of it was ripped and snagged! I asked how this could happen since they do wedding dresses all the time, to which they replied with a stand-off-ish attitude "the beading snagged the dress". Ok, but that doesn't explain why they were so careless to let that happen. I was visibly upset, but they still did not own up to the mistake. It was already such a frustrating experience, and it was only made worse by their poor customer service. They cut the fabric snag and tried to iron it out as best they could, but it is still visible, especially since it's a sheen satin-like fabric. Picture shown (it looks even more obvious in person). They ended up giving me $150 off so the total came out to $800, but when you're spending tens of thousands of dollars on your wedding, it's obviously not about the price. It's about the customer service, which was completely subpar. Please take your business elsewhere. read more

I came to Marine and Khach after seeing they had done other fast-turnaround miracles for brides and hoping that they could also do one for me too. I had bought a wedding dress at a reasonable time but decided it wasn't the right one, so by the time I found MY dress, it was already way into crunch time. My wedding was 12.29.23, and it did not arrive until after Thanksgiving while I was already out of town for two weeks. I got back on December 8th and knew it was a bit of a long shot to find someone to deal with shortening all this beautiful detailed lace and working this dramatic train into a reasonable bustle. I reached out to two other places as a safety and didn't even get a response from them. Mari emailed me back immediately and told me to come in, and they worked their magic so quickly I was in for just two fittings before the final fitting/pickup, which they somehow managed to do a whole week before the big day! You can see for yourself the dress turned out BEAUTIFULLY, and the seven point pleated bustle was gorgeous for twirling around the dance floor on my first dance. I threw in a picture of how it was before alterations (way too long!) I really can't thank Luxury Alterations enough for being the heroes of this wedding and saving the day. It is also worth mentioning that they are SO nice and easy to work with! Khach even did a quick tailor on my brother's groomsman tux (his sleeves were just a bit too long) in just two days. And their prices are more than reasonable for the quality and fast turnaround. I would absolutely recommend them to any Los Angeles area brides or anyone needing any alterations; they really care about their work and their clients. We are so lucky to have them here in Tarzana now that they have just moved from the Bay Area!! Can't wait to come back to them in the future! Thanks again! read more

As a bride in a wheelchair there were a lot of logistics I needed to consider when altering my dress and they helped me figure out the best way to be comfortable but also get the dress fitting right! Marine and her husband from Luxury Alterations were a life saver! Immediately upon my consultation, I knew she was a master at her craft. I felt 100% confident that she would be able to help me with some of my dress concerns. Luxury Alterations was the second place I went to for a consultation. The first place had no idea how to fix the bodice of my dress and suggested I buy a strapless bra that they could pin to the dress. They had no idea how to create a bustle because of all the layers. My dress was originally supposed to be custom-made, but I had some problems with the bridal shop, and after a lot of heartache, I took the off the rack dress from the shop. It is a gorgeous dress, but there were some specific cosmetic and functional issues that needed a skilled hand. The bodice was ill constructed and had no support. The original shape made it impossible to wear a bra, and there was boning throughout the top that did not add any structure or provide support. It lacked the "push up" effect to add some "oomph" to the top. The dress was too large in the hips, waist, bust, and long in length. I also wanted to add a bustle but was concerned because my dress had 3 layers of different fabric. Her knowledge of alterations is next level, and she was able to create a bustle that made the dress even more beautiful. I was coming down to the wire with my wedding date, but Marine assured me they would be able to fix all of the issues on time. She and her husband discussed how to best fix the bodice without compromising the overall look and style. I was beyond pleased. I had 3 fittings, and each time, I was more impressed and happy with the progress. Marine and her husband's attention to detail is phenomenal. They are professional, quick and so friendly! In the end, my dress fit me like a second skin and flattered my figure! I highly recommend Luxery Alterations. You will not be disappointed read more

They were able to take my mom's very late 80s/early 90s wedding dress that had crazy poofy sleeves and a long train and turn it into an adorable cocktail dress for me for my wedding rehearsal/rehearsal dinner dress. I had a total of three fittings. My alterations included shortening the length, tightening the waist area, additional lace/detailing in the bust area, and a bustle. Marine and her husband were friendly and great to work with! They were patient, transparent, and offered good advice and recommendations based on their many years of experience. They went above and beyond to make sure my dress fit perfectly, would stay in place the entire day (literally fit like a glove!) and was comfortable for me to wear the whole day. Marine is godsend. My wedding dress was very difficult to alter. The chest area was too big, and it was tricky with the lace, the detailing, and the sheer panels. I also had a massive train. Luxury Alterations was the 3rd place I went for a consultation. The 1st place's prices were really high and they had a completely different vision of what to do. They wanted to add more fabric in the back to make it easier to "tighten", and they were going to do a 2-point bustle, which would create a long tail of fabric from my butt. The 2nd place said, "Oh... this is a really hard dress. Very difficult... Ummm... Yea, it's not easy. Very very hard... I guess we can figure it out together and it'll be a process." That made me lose confidence real quick. I almost lost all hope, then I went to Marine. How lucky was I to have found her and her husband! During my consultation meeting, they started pinning me right away. They said we didn't need to cover the beautiful keyhole back, and extra fabric was a bad idea. They showed that they knew what to do, and I had full confidence in them. They are EXPERTS. I was also nervous about my long train and considered cutting it off. Marine reminded me about the beautiful details and I'm SO glad she was there to knock some sense into me. My train really is so gorgeous! Marine was also the only tailor to figure out how to bustle my massive train (with 9 points) to make it look seamless. I'm so impressed by her work. I really appreciate the level of attention that Marine gave to my dress. In the end, my dress fit like a glove. I got so many compliments on my wedding day, and it's all thanks to Luxury Alterations. These people make miracles happen. I bought a dress 4 sizes too large, it was a dream dress. When I first got it fitted, they were able to get it to fit exactly how I needed, gave me the price and I was so happy. Pricing was a good deal. The couple that runs this shop are the sweetest people, they're go flexible with scheduling and they'll give you exactly what you want. For my dress, I lost weight at each fitting, so much that I picked up my dress 2 weeks before the wedding. I tried it on a week before and it was loose again, they took my dress in and made it fit like a glove 3 days before my wedding.
