A small child of an employee was trying to soothe his baby brother as they were enclosed in a hot room with the door shut, they finally opened the door and let the kids out. I seriously thought it was child abuse and did say something to the nail tech. The baby screamed the entire time I was there. The place looks unkept and unclean. Shame on the parents for allowing the kids into the salon, it's unsafe and unhealthy for them. It is not a "spa" relaxed feeling with your kid crying, screaming and running thru the shop. This is also the special place where my husband asked me to marry him in 2016. The owner, Heather, is so friendly and generous. She makes the best cheese plates in the afternoons for happy hour and the BEST omelettes for breakfast. By the way, breakfast and happy hour is included with your stay. Everything is made to order and the spreads are always incredible. One of the best perks about the Inn! It's romantic and relaxing all rolled into one vacation. The customer service from each lady at the Inn is outstanding. They truly care about your vacation and constantly check in to make sure you're more than happy with your stay. Heather even made hot tea for my husband one day and brought it out to him by the pool. So kind. Our air conditioner had an issue one night and we were promptly given a key to another room where we could sleep for the night. Heather had maintenance out the next morning and the issue was taken care of quickly. We have stayed in the Flamingo room and the Serenity room all times we've been here. These are the only two rooms located in the spa building and the heated mineral pool is right outside their doors. We love The White Orchid Inn and Spa and already look forward to the day when we return. The ladies really made our trip special this time around and we are grateful for that. Yesterday we went in and I told the lady regular pedicure for me. She handed me the "menu" opened to the $50 pedi and I looked at her and turned it to the page for the $35 pedi and pointed to it. She brought me the nail chips and the nail book to pick my color which I did. When I went to pay the cashier says $50 for me. Understand I was shocked and asked why. "Oh the Polish you picked was Gel and that's $15 extra". So this woman got her $50 pedi out of me without explaining that the polish I picked was extra nor did she tell me it was Gel. I never wanted to use Gel as I heard it's not good for the nail bed. They did not remove the extra charge so needless to say I won't go back. They've lost two customers due to simple greed.
