Luxx has a gorgeous interior, very kind staff, and a wide selection of offerings. It was easy to book an appointment and they were able to seat me and start my nails right on time with no delay. My nails turned out absolutely gorgeous! I chose Gel X extension. However, I felt like my nail artist was in a rush because I was cut a few times. While using the clippers, he cut too close, cutting into underneath my finger nail on multiple fingers. Only one time drew blood thankfully. I had to ask to get up and go clean the bleeding wound, as my nail artist proceeded with the manicure after the cut without concern for sanitization or potential infection. However, he was clearly very apologetic and kept checking in to make sure I was okay, which I appreciated. But later, the nail drill nicked the skin next to my cuticle, which hurt. I feel like I wouldn't have been cut if we just slowed down a little bit. read more

Decided that a mid-week lunchtime pedicure was just what the Dr ordered. My aunt was visiting a few weeks ago and had a lovely experience here so thought I'd give them a shot. On their website, you can not only schedule an appointment easily, but they also have all of their services and pricing posted so I didn't feel pressured to get a more expensive service than planned. We've all had the experience of panic decision making at the chair and I'm overjoyed that was not my experience with this salon. Having only been open a few months, the salon is fresh and bright and clean. Clean is most important since I've heard horror stories of other salons that were not up to date on the most recent cleanliness standards. The staff were all welcoming and proficient. Also, there were all ages and genders partaking in services during my visit. I was immediately welcomed in and upon checkin directed to the wall of colors to choose the polish I desired. There is no shortage of colors and definitely something for everyone. The young lady performing my pedicure was efficient and professional and able to communicate in English when questions arose. I've had experiences elsewhere when staff needed management to translate so this was a welcome experience. The drink menu was also extensive with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic selections to cater to any visitor. I couldn't be more pleased with the service and this will be my go to anytime my nails need attention. My only regret was not blocking more time so I could get a manicure too. The actual nail work itself was good, but the gentleman at the front (believe an owner or manager) that was sent to help me seemed annoyed by asking questions of breakdown of pricing. I decided to make an appt with Linh and I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. My first impressions of the salon was that is was well kept and had a pleasant atmosphere. I was promptly greeted and made to feel welcome. I explained to Linh what I wanted and what had made me disappointed in the past with other nail techs. She was super understanding. We chatted while she did my manicure and after she was done I breathed in and was so happy. Finally someone who met my expectations for a clean and neat polish. (Yes, I admit I am a manicure snob LOL) On a serious note I feel like I have found my new salon and nail tech and I could not be happier. My only minor criticism was that I had to wait about 15 minutes past my scheduled appt time. The front desk person did apologize and I appreciated the acknowledgment of my time. Visited for a simple mani but opted to upgrade for the collagen, moisturizing, warm towel treatment using the "first time customer" 20% off any service :) The environment is nice and bright (black & white but not cold feeling). Everything looked clean and Vy was nice and detail oriented. Only "minus" was that I'd have liked for my hands to soak a bit longer in the water as well as the collagen/warm towel treatment. Each time ive been there they have always done well. CiCi has been doing my nails the most and she always does a fabulous job. This last time Michael did them and he did well too. (he actually did my nails at another business and it took him longer than most because he was such a perfectionist) I like how flat he makes them. He even called over another tech to do the design (Kevin) because he didn't think he would do it well. Most other nail places I've been to would just wing it and hope for the best. We booked the appointment easily and were met upon arrival then taken to a room all together so we could visit. LUXX puts area restaurants to shame when it comes to cleanliness and presentation. The place is very clean, excellent technicians and majority speak English. Guests are offered a single complimentary beverage including alcohol. Their pricing is about $10 more than I have paid traditionally. It covers the cost of your free beverage, no doubt. My pedicure was excellent and done as I asked. I highly recommend. read more

I truly don't know how to express my extreme disappointment in your salon. Yesterday was the third time in a row that I had to come back and have services corrected. This last time my technician didn't clean up my nails and they are uneven. Hannah attempted to correct things and managed to cut with a file two of my fingers. The time before nail technician failed to put the final coat on my nails. Again I had to have something corrected. One time technician didn't allow the polish on my nails (on my toes) to dry before she moved me and the polish was totally ruined. Yet another time the person at the front desk managed to charge me twice for the same service. The list could go on. Someone told me about this business and I was very excited to try it, especially since it's so close to my house. After parking, I noticed a lady walked in and got seated right away. I walked in a minute later, and my spouse and I were standing as another lady was finishing payment for her service. Several employees walked past, one made eye contact and just stared. Not one employee said "hello" or "we'll be with you soon". We stood for a couple minutes, uncomfortably, and I decided to go to my usual spot. As a person of color, I have had this happen to me at two different nail salons in Georgetown. There's a noticeable difference in the interaction between these employees when they interact with a non-minority. It's very sad, and as a person who treats myself to manis and pedis every 2-3 weeks it's their loss. read more

We tried this place out because it was close to our house. I did a pedicure with gel and a set of acrylics with gel. It appeared very clean and it was pleasant because of how quiet it is. However, the quality isn't great and the prices are outrageous. As someone that gets their nails done frequently, I wouldn't come back. The quality does not match the prices at all. The salon is gorgeous inside but it's not for us.... My sister and i went to spend time with one another which mission accomplished because it took us 3 hours in the salon for a mani pedi which is insane. While i love the time spent with her, it was as if the urgency to then the chairs over was not there. You'd think the quality of the work would be much higher or the service would be better but it unfortunately wasn't with the staff we met. We loved the front desk girl with the short hair. She was a peach from the beginning with getting us checked in and situated! Once getting to the chairs, it went downhill... they were unable to understand our nail requests and took several times to explain. The woman assisting my sister with her pedicure seemed as though it was an inconvenience for her to allow her to provide specific directions on the details she's requesting. My manicurist equally uninterested and would scold... the nails turned out very bumpy on what should be smooth. There were ladies who were with us getting the same services and still had an extensive wait time while other walk in's were being sat and started on. Overall, the salon is stunning and the drinks provided were delicious but the staff we interacted with and witnessed with other customers made for an uncomfortable experience. read more
