I gave this place so many chances because they are close to my work and home and every once in a while, I'll get a good nail tech for my experience. Yesterday was absolutely horrible. I asked so many times for my nails to be done a certain way and I was told that my nails are cooked because of the way my hands are shaped ( my hands are fine) the girl that was doing my nails was rude seem annoyed by the fact that she even had to do them and when I asked for a certain color, she said that's too difficult pick something else and all I wanted was stiletto Halloween nails i'm going to a different salon today to get my nails redone the right way and I will never be back to this horrible place and by the way, if you walk in there, and you see heavier set girl with an attitude, that's the one! My husband and I stopped in at 1pm on a weekday asking if they had an opening at 2. They were able to accommodate us and when we returned, they sat us pretty quickly. His pedicure started before mine and I waited with my feet soaking until the water was cold and I took my feet out. My pedicure was okay, the massage was short which I expected, the menu said 12 min massage for the $45 pedicure. My husband upgraded to the $55 pedicure and his massage was not noticeably longer. I had no issue with my pedicure, my husband wasn't impressed, but we both were taken aback by the atmosphere and lack of hospitality. The Abba song, Happy New Year, played on repeat. After a few rounds I looked at my husband bewildered. He said "yes, it's playing over and over". Neither of us were familiar with the song but searched the only discernible lyrics, "... may we all lay down and die" and determined the song title. There are gun shot blasts throughout the song; based on the title they are likely intended to be fireworks but they are unmistakably gunshots. When I questioned what I was hearing my husband assured me "I'm from the south, it's gun shots." Early on in our visit, I requested the tv channel be changed. The crime show they chose had a myriad of graphic images. I saw no less than 4 bloody, slit throats. I was told "no" but I asked again, "you cannot change the channel", knowing the other tv was showing a random daytime talk show, and again, I was told "no" with no explanation. There was no one seated in view of the tv other than us, the salon was almost empty. (See picture.) My husband and I came to relax and we were subjected to the same annoying song on a loop, the sound of gunshots in the background of aforementioned song and a tv show with no sound on but many graphic images of blood, death and torture that I would not have preferred my own small child to see and certainly didn't allow me to relax and enjoy the pedicure. It may be redundant to say at this point, but due to the ambiance of this nail salon in the heart of sleepy ol' downtown Roanoke, we won't be returning. Maybe there is a niche market for folks who want to have their feet rubbed while surrounded by the sights and sounds of murder, but it's not me. I will not go anywhere else now. Vivian is top notch at her craft. I've had several ombré including my favorite black ombré. I can find a nail pic and Vivian brings it to life. She keeps my natural nails in perfect shape and always makes sure I'm happy. The shop is clean and luxurious but prices are very fair. I've had a volcano pedi too and it is to die for. And what started off as a little afternoon get away turns into psychological warfare for the next hour hour and half. Once we are seated the television is playing NCIS and when they walk into a dining room where all the places are filled with a family whose throats have been slit. My wife requested if they could change it or turn it off and they said no. Ok so we are sitting there soaking and I'm starting to think damn this is a long song they are playing, and how strange the gun shots don't alone with what's on tv. Just when I'm thinking something is up the song does change to we wish you a merry Christmas so I don't think anything on it. But then the familiar sounds of what turns out to be ABBA happy new year starts playing over again. And continues. My wife at one point goes is this the same song and I nodded in agreement and said yep it's been pretty much playing since we got here on repeat. So wasn't a very relaxing experience and the pedicure was meh I don't plan on returning to this establishment for foot-care or mild torture. read more

Let me tell you why I don't recommend this business. I have gone to this location three times at 9:30 AM which are the hours listed on all the local listings, including Google and Yelp as well as the signage on the front door. They are never there. I also get the same pedicurist every time I go in there and I'm constantly dissatisfied with her. She doesn't even attempt to clean underneath my toenails. It's very unfortunate that I have to write this review. When this salon first opened I loved it. The space, the people just everything. As we all know every salon has a lot of turn over and so has this one. Just when I had the perfect person to do my nails they would suddenly no longer be there. I have also had the experience that I would let my tech know that the shape was wrong or that it was crooked and they would consistently tell me that it is my finger nail or that it was the way I looking at it without ever just fixing the issue without an attitude. Today was the last straw that broke the camels back. I know what I pay for each service because Ive come here many times. Today I was charged the same price that I would typically pay for dip with acrylic nails even though I didn't get any acrylics done. I asked why I was being charged the same price for this service when I didn't get any acrylics done? There was no answer! I was told I was wrong because they always charge the same thing. Not from one person but from 3 different individuals that I have not even talked to before. Then started talking in their language and would tell me right after that it's because I didn't remember. That I forgot that it's always the same. That it's because of this or that. Yet not once did they consider that they were wrong in doing that and on top of it wrong for yelling and telling me in other words that "I am crazy". I paid what they charged me for and still tipped the tech because it wasn't his fault, that unfortunately, all salons charge different for services just to keep the difference. This will be the last time I come here!!!! I'm all about honesty and consistency and this is not the place that does this. If you haven't had this experience, that's great! Stopped by on a whim in dire need of a pedicure and got the royal treatment from Tina and the aloe Vera treatment. I really loved chatting with Tina and appreciated her care and attention to detail. She gathered that I liked a longer lasting pedicure and she upgraded to gel since I wouldn't be able to make it in for a while and gave recommendations on how to maintain in the meantime. She took her time, was knowledgeable of the ingredients she was using and the pedicure turned out beautifully! Aloe Vera treatment was worth the upgrade and included raw aloe Vera plant and would be excellent for summer time since it's very cooling and refreshing. Ugh... I never ever leave bad reviews but I feel like my honesty needs to be shared. My sister and I have been going here for a few months now and we've been disappointed so.many.times. Today was probably the last straw. I'm having surgery Friday so we went in to get my nails and toenail color removed. They charged me $40 and asked for a tip. Usually I give tips without any question at all but she didn't even remove it all and let me go in a mess! Each toe nail still has paint on them and my nails still have a thick layer of clear dip on them. I asked for removal and what I got was a partial removal. It's not worth $40 alone.. especially including a tip :/ Everytime we've gone in we fill out a piece of paper and see the prices-everytime we go to check out it's at least double that amount. It's awful.. most of them are so nice but we can't afford to keep going and getting bad results :( read more

I got a nice $55 dollar pedicure as my last pedicure before baby boy comes to pamper myself. Place was not busy at all and able to take me immediately. The side tables of the chair that I sat in was so dirty and look like it hasn't been wiped down in weeks. The lady cut my big toe while she was filing my nail so hard and acted like nothing happened besides putting that blue aid stuff on it, but zero acknowledgment which drives me crazy. I checked in on yelp so that I could get 20% off and they wouldn't honor it when I was checking out. I liked everything about this nail salon except for my actual pedicure. After trimming the sides of my toenails, the manicurist was aggressive and pulled the nail away from the skin which made the skin slightly bleed and left the skin irritated and sore. I ended up applying an over the counter antibiotic cream to those areas out of fear of getting an infection. Although the pricing was great, I'll pay more to go somewhere that doesn't leave me in pain. read more

Wish I could give them 0 stars. They were rude, the woman doing my nails left me for 2 other customers. After someone finally helped me, they argued with me with the colors I wanted. I had nexgen dipping powder before I went in, told them I was going to get a full gel set, in response 4 people argued saying it can't be done. They shaved down my nexgen nails (when all you have to do is soak them off) when I told them I was bleeding from them cutting my cubical they shrugged it off. Proceeded to put acrylic then gel on top. My friend who was with me wanted white nexgen nails. They applied the nexgen dipping power with acrylic solution then charged her extra for pink and white. I used to really like this place, but the quality of both the nail services and customer service has really dropped in the last 6 months. They used to give discounts for zelle payments, now they don't. They don't always give you what you pay for and then will argue you when you point it out. Most recently, I made an appointment at 230 with a specific person who has done my nails for a long time. She didn't start my service until 3. Gave me a 5 minute shoulder massage, took my nail polish off then had to step away to help someone. At 345 I asked for someone else to do my pedicure as I was with someone and they were nearly done. The lady who came to do my pedicure then told me that's what I get for requesting a specific person cause other people want them too. I said that's why I schedule an appointment. Then the lady came back who normally does my nails and said "this is why I tell you I don't do pedicures cause I'm the best at nails here and they need my help" Weird.... it's been almost a year of this person doing my nails & she's never said a thing. To top it off, I paid for the 90 minute pedicure and was done by 415... Guess the timer starts when you sit in the chair and not them actually doing the pedicure. This was the last straw for me. IF I COULD USE ZERO STARS, I WOULD. Worst experience of my life. Went in, asked for a MANICURE. Did not receive one. They just continued with the dip service. They trimmed up my cuticles poorly, dry. Did not let me soak, did not put any oil on. They just kept cutting. Leaving me with 3 bloody fingers. They then preceded to push my fingers in the dip powder, BLOOD AND ALL. Not very sanitary. She pulled the cuticle clipper out of her bag and put it back, with my blood on it. She kept saying sorry but still kept hacking away at my nail beds. Finally I was done. I said ow and I said stop. Put that tool away. She then started to shaped my finger nails without asking what shape I wanted??? I wanted oval, but she already started doing square. And I wasn't about to start over. So I settled with square. I'm sure they use the same tools on everyone! Very unsanitary!! For my blood to be in the powder that I'm sure more people will use- especially the BASE powder. That is quite disgusting. I paid for my service and ran out the door. My fingers are still throbbing. Highly do not recommend!!!! read more

My daughter and I visited today. Both of our technicians were rough. Mine cut my skin on my nail and toe l. Paid $16 for a basic manicure. Didn't want nail polish added but she didn't even remove my old polish. Also filing job was done to the level of a beginner. Paid extra to remove the dipping powder off 4 of my daughters nails (all that was remaining from last dip) but she just placed nail polish on top of it. Will not visit again. read more

Very nice staff, however unimpressed in the end with a pedicure. The pedicure was aggressive with cuticle removal without the use of softener and not allowing the feet to soak first for longer than 30 seconds, the day after they are a tad tender. The polish took forever to put on because it was done slowly which caused the polish not to blend. You can see the strokes from this and pooling of polish. Unfortunately I didn't notice this on the polish until the day after. After everything was complete I had to ask for the polish to be removed off of my skin around my nails. I don't think I've ever had to ask for that before... I've given this salon a couple of tries and I think I'm done :( read more

This place is just meh. I REALLY wanted to like it since the decor is beautiful and it's a great addition to downtown Roanoke, but I am disappointed every time I visit. Got a basic manicure the first time and the person doing my nails kept pressuring me to get dip even though I said no multiple times. Came back a few days later for a pedicure and the service was ok - had to ask the girl for another layer because I could see through the first coat and then someone just came over and threw a plastic bag on my shoes for "when I leave".
