Check yelp first. Always. I know better but I was in a rush to get my nails done while heading home. I came in for a pedicure and was persuaded to get dip nails. I needed them done too honestly. The pedicure was the aloe Vera pedicure. They use fresh grapefruit slices, hot stones and paraffin was all for $45. Great value and I loved my pedicure. Now my dip nails were done by helen. I have never had my dip nails touched by someone's fingers while doing them. Typically you polish and dip, no need to touch the nails. Helen touched several nails and left them bumpy and unevenly coated with the dip. The finished look was caked and uneven nails with visible lines in my nails. I was of course upset with the result and helen spent 10 mins trying to convince me that it was okay. I did not back down. I got the messed up nails covered in glitter instead. The nail job is one of the worst I have gotten and you can see two colors on the nails as they were still not evenly dipped. Save your time and money! read more

Came in on saturday with a friend to get my nails done. I had a acrylic on already and I asked if they were comfortable doing acrylic. I told them if they weren't, that was fine and I would do dip. They ensured me that they would do the acrylic and be able to do the shape I wanted. I chose a light blue color. I've gotten my nails done plenty of times and even have worked at a nail salon in the past. Half way through I could tell it didn't seem like she knew what she was doing or maybe did not have much experience with acrylic? I'm not sure but I knew they weren't going to end up how I asked for them. The color was wrong, they were all different lengths, and it looked ombré when I didn't ask for that. I told her and the guy who I'm guessing was the manager that I did not like them and I would much rather have them take it off. I was polite about it but they weren't taking me seriously, not sure if they just wanted me to pay or because I'm younger? I told them multiple times I didn't like them but they just kept telling me that "I was ok" She finished the job and they are see through in some areas of the nail, different lengths on each nail, some are crooked, the color is wrong, each nail is a different thickness and you can see my old nails under these. They were friendly at first but did not listen to me at all and did not give me a discount or anything. Not to mention they had my friend soak her nails for almost 2 hours. read more

I had other errands on my list in the same strip mall so I decided to treat myself to a long overdue professional manicure. I only do shape and buff anymore on my fingers as I'm hard on my hands so regular polish lasts only a few days and my nails don't respond well to gel removal. Tech was an older lady, Anna?? Anyway, the basic manicure is just that - BASIC. She trimmed cuticles from one hand pre-soak and the other hand after it was soaked. Had to tell her to round the corners (most places will at least ASK what shape you want). Slathered on so much oil and lotion that my hands and arms were a very greasy. When I left, I used two napkins I had in my car to wipe my arms and hands off just so I could drive. Too many other places around to try that hopefully I can find something better next time. read more

I really like this spot. The staff is professional and they do an excellent job. The Hawaiian pedicure is relaxing and my feet feels great. They were able to accommodate 2 walk-ins on a Saturday morning. I am at least 30 minutes away but it is worth the drive. They even have a child's chair which I thought was cute. read more

I have been coming here for 11 years. Tony and Tina always make sure I'm taken care of and happy when I leave. They purchased a polish/gel/dip color system that is phenomenal. I had quite an awful experience here as a first-time visitor. I was a walk-in asking for dip if possible. One of the employees ask that I wait 30 minutes. I typically don't have a problem waiting, but I was in a bit of a time crunch, so I'd asked to make an appointment for a following day instead. Tina insisted she could actually finish her current client and be with me in a few moments. There were only 2 other clients there at the time. I was offered wine. I waited over 30 mins and Tina came back over to me, only the move my chair in front of the TV and try to have me drink more alcohol. I was a bit shocked. She went to work on another clients nails instead of coming to me when she was finished. Poor time-management. I waited another 30-45 minutes before getting my bag to leave. Once Tina saw me leaving, she left THAT client to finish my nails. This made me feel incredibly awkward, as I'd feel bad to be left in the middle of a service like the other client was. Tina had a kind demeanor, but was not very skilled. She cut 4 of my cuticles with the electric file, and got dip acrylic all over my cuticle area. It has been less than 24 hours, and my nails are already lifting as a result. All of my nails are different lengths and not straight across. When I went to pay, she told me it was $35. She then changed the price to $30 after learning it was my first time there. Nothing wrong with receiving a discount, but this does make the pricing seem quite arbitrary. I will not be visiting again due to these reasons which is unfortunate given the convenient location. read more

Oh and I am picky and I travel quite a bit for work thus have to get my nails done in other places... my favorite? right here at Chic nails in the TC!!! I have been going here about two years and love it! It does take some time but my nails and toes always look fantastic! They are super sweet and hospitable (want wine - just ask) so I don't mind it taking a full hour and half!! On a Saturday get there early...it gets busy!!! Highly recommend ! read more

My friend and I walked in together for one no-chip manicure for me and one dip manicure for her. They started on her and were half way through her GEL manicure before they ever started on me. Once I was finished I asked for a brow wax. When I return from the brow wax I see my friend looking very uncomfortable receiving an in prompted massage. She then opts for a wax. When she returns from the wax she looks increasingly uncomfortable and goes to sit back down as one of the manicurists insists on re doing her nails yet GEL again. In under an hour after leaving her nails already were starting to peel off and were completely off before the end of the night. This was not worth $45 each. read more

It is comedic when I try to paint my nails. I end up getting it everywhere, and eventually have to break down and pay for professional intervention. Stopped in Chic Nails & Tan on my lunch break. I will say, the girls were very sweet. I had the salon to myself ( I unfortunately now understand why) so they chatted it up with me the entire time. I got a basic manicure and one of the deluxe pedicures. The nurse in me get grossed out by all the funk people can have creepin under their nails, so I keep mine really short. Apparently this makes me the problem child of nail salons, so I understand if it is not 100% perfect, but my nail tech painted all over my fingertips. I have chunks of nail missing polish and bumpy paint in my cuticles. Not cute. My pedicure was slightly better due to a solid 30 minutes of leg massage etc, but there was a lot of coloring outside the lines going on here too. I can use nail polish remover when I get home to get it off, but am disappointed that I paid for it. I wish I would have saved my money and done it myself. If you decide to come in, bring cash. They accept credit card but you can't add tip onto your charge. I had some today by chance but would have been embarrassed otherwise. read more

Had to ask her to scrub more 2. 90% of nails colors on the shelves are OLD and some are mixed with Acetone How do I know? the lady who scrub my feet try to mix acetone to the color I picked in front of my eyes Ok I picked different color to get done 3. First coat of coloring I realized the shapes and lengths of nails are ALL OVER that she didn't even trim toe nails evenly. I finally told her to stop 4. She was wearing Latex gloves the whole time for pedi and I don't like latex massage Mani- 1. Cut my nails way too SHORT without asking me when I asked her to match with length she just chopped them all to match with my broken pinky nail? I can see my middle fingertip under the nail now :( 2. After Hot wax paraffin treatment didn't bother to clean well. Sent me out with oily and messy hands. had to run to bathroom before I ruin my leather bag 3. Bring your first aid kit,broken pedicure chairs and if you want terrible thick nails go here. I would have given them zero stars but the pedicure was ok. The nail tech not only cut my finger but now I have thick and way to long for my taste nails. I was told it'd be $35 and when I checked out it was $42 and they didn't care that my finger was bleeding. Also, all the chairs are broken and need to be repaired. read more

Went in for the express mani pedi which was not very "express". I was in there for 2 hours and was treated extremely disrespectfully. The nail tech said that I shouldn't paint nails because they were too short. I work in a hospital so my nails have to be short.l she then did not help me carry my bag over to the drying station, did not help me put my flip flops on, and gave me attitude for not tipping in cash. The other nail tech helping my friend offered her a beverage while my nail tech actually snapped at my for moving while she was clipping my toes and made me turn my vibrating chair off. Please go somewhere else. I paid over $100 for a full set of solar nails and a pedicure with all the extras they harassed me into getting. I had my services done 1 week ago to the date and I had 2 nails just pop clean off and I didn't even realize it until after the fact. The polish on my toes literally started chipping off within 24 hours of my service and on one of my toes the polish did much like my nail and just slid off like the entire nail like it was never even there. This was my first using this salon and I will never return because in all the years I've gotten pedicures and sets I've never had them do anything like this. I suspect they must use poor quality products for things like this to happen. read more
