The food is amazing, that's 3 of the stars. Highly recommend the No Name Burrito, but get it early, they usually run out of ingredients quickly.....which tells you something. My complaints aren't really complaints, but rather frustrations. It's tiny, but packed.....allllllll the time. It used to be a local secret, but someone let it slip out. Thank you to whoever that may be . The fourth star comes for the single host and single cook who deliver amazing food and service to a large, diverse (can I have a coffee vs can I have a lattè with this and that and this and that, but not this) customer base. We grabbed coffees in here and opted to not get breakfast: there are a few small tables inside, but this is a very small space and not good for a group. Service was okay - they have several signs around the cafe, including how they prefer cash. They also discourage using straws with a "save the turtles" poster, and have signs around the cafe asking you to clean up after yourself since they don't do buss their tables. The coffees were fine, but not better than what we have tried around downtown Wolfeboro during our trip. I'm glad we tried it, but likely will not come back. read more

Omelettes are so fresh and delicious. The service by the counter gal was pleasant despite the crowd on Sunday 11:45am, the unique coffee choices are options I've never heard before. Everything is custom-made and so everything takes a bit longer time. This is not a fast food place, but it is quality!! Inside there's only 3 tables, room for 9, and outside 2 tiny rounds for 6 and tall stools for 4. Best iced coffee I ever tasted and the iced coconut latte was also enjoyed by my gal. Denver omelette was so fluffy and the ingredients were real fresh and cooked to perfection. Homemade bread for toast and the grilled blueberry muffin both delicious tasting!! read more

This cute little spot has both drinks and a limited food menu. Note: this review is for drinks only - we did not get any food. We only had about 8 people ahead of us but the line moved very slowly. If you're willing to wait, you will be greeted with a wide variety of drink options - we tried a specialty late (very good), a cappuccino, and two different smoothies between our group. The smoothies are tasty. Only a couple tables outside so be prepared to bring it home or find somewhere else to sit if you want to sit and eat/drink or walk over to the docks to enjoy. read more

3 stars because when you can get it the food is decent. The issue here is that they staff on counter person who makes drinks, works the register and services the food to the outside seating area. This makes your wait for a drink more than 15 minutes during busy times. So, okay if I want to wait I will if I don't I won't. But as a server, you should acknowledge the people that are waiting in line to make an order. All it takes to put people at ease is to say "be with you in a minute" it lets the customer know you acknowledge they are waiting. You don't get that here. They ignore you until they are ready to take your order. On the other hand they have an excellent Chai, stuffed French Toast, veggie wrap and more. read more

What a find! My partner had the blueberry pancake and it was incredible. One pancake, large and thick as it was, was somehow light.... and was FULL of blueberries. She says it is a must have. Cute little Cafe in Wolfeboro, the line moved quickly and they had a decent variety of breakfast and lunch options. I had a breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel and it was good. The burrito that my boyfriend had was good but fell apart because of the beans but he enjoyed it. Coffee tasted like coffee... nothing amazing but still good. We stopped in for a late lunch. The place was tiny and had a line out the door. We sat out on the porch, which was very comfortable. I got a vanilla iced coffee and a rice bowl with lemon vinaigrette dressing. It was the perfect amount of food and healthy but tasty. My girlfriend had the French toast and the Maine-iac smoothie. The French toast was made with wheat toast and only two thin sliced pieces of toast. She wouldn't order that again. The smoothie was good. It primarily tasted like strawberry and banana but had blueberries and other stuff in it. The staff was friendly and prices were reasonable. I now understand the line out the door. I'm rarely in Wolfeboro, and Lydia's was rarely open when I was there for rehearsals and shows with the Village Players. But the Sunday matinees were a day I looked forward to because I KNEW I'd be getting food at Lydia's. Now, I LOVE breakfast. It's my favorite meal to dine out for. And Lydia's is, hands down, one of my top 3 favorite breakfast places that I've been to, and I've traveled and eaten breakfast from Williamsburg, VA to Montreal, QC. If you're ever near Wolfeboro for breakfast or lunch, do YOURSELF a favor and go here. You'll feel like you're stealing, the food is so good and so cheap. I love the feeling now that Lydia's moved to the larger spot next door. Very warm and welcoming and a few different areas to sit (tables, bar or leather sofas). It's a great place to grab a coffee and go or sit down and have a sandwich. Egg sandwiches are good and large enough to satisfy. This is a great little place, they have really good coffee (hot and iced) and smoothies to drink (only have been in the morning for breakfast) and the breakfast sandwiches are phenominal. Everything is is freshly made so be ready to wait a little while for your food, this isn't dunkin donuts :-). It gets really busy around prime breakfast hours (8 - 10:30). The people who work there are very friendly and deal with the mad rush remarkably well. As a note, they only take cash and checks so don't bother bringing plastic. We ate brunch at Lydia's yesterday and were a little disappointed. I ordered the vegetable omelette. The omelette seemed a little too oily. The onions and peppers were nearly raw, and the mushrooms used were light gray button mushrooms instead of baby bellas or white caps like I would have expected. My husband ordered the french toast and it was gray. He ate it, so I guess it wasn't that bad, but it looked like something I could have made at home. Lydia's is cute and VERY VERY VERY small. 3 tables inside and if the weather is okay, a few outside as well. The problem I have with them is they aren't quite that knowledgable. I always go in expecting to order my "fancy" drink of 1/2 caf, non fat, 2 raw sugar cappuccino and I get looked at like I have 3 heads. I also asked for a maple latte and they didn't know what that was either. Although it's very good coffee, I prefer downtown grille as they tend to know coffee orders much better. read more

We come up to Wolfeboro every few years and we ALWAYS stop at Lydia's. My husband constantly talks about the blueberry pancakes- they are the best he's ever had. The coffee is outstanding. Everything I've ever ordered has been fresh, delicious and creative. I've noticed a lot more places opening in town with pre-packages food. Lydia's is the only place I feel like I can get real food, whether I'm feeling healthy or decadent, and I love that it's run by a local family. Lydia's is becoming my go to place. They are one of the only places in town where you can get breakfast until 2pm (when they close) as opposed to other places that force you to order lunch at 11:30. They have a good selection of breakfast items and enough to cover the basics for lunch, with a little finer items like a Turkey Curry or Apple Brie Turkey Sandwich, or even a Duck Bacon BLT special that you likely won't be able to get anywhere else. They have a large coffee selection (I don't drink coffee but it's worth noting) and the guy back there is really good. I think that the woman with the attitude that is mentioned in other reviews is gone. (I've been coming here since about 2011) This is more of a place to walk to than a place to drive to given that it's right on the corner of town. They consistently make good food, however, so it is worth it to me. I enjoy both their breakfast items and their lunch items. read more

Both my husband and I agree that the baked beans are to die for - and I don't usually like baked beans. I think I love the idea of Lydia's cafe better than the reality. It is a place I would go to when I want a healthier option for lunch. What ruins it is the service. The staff are so rude. I have experienced this more than once and have heard the same thing from friends and family that have stopped in to get a bite to eat there. I think I will take my business elsewhere. This was my first time to Lydia's and my wife's second go around. I did not necessarily mind the fact that the place is tiny but when I ordered my meal I was told they could not grill a bagel because they were too busy. I was even okay with that (even though it is a pretty standard request for a place with a griddle) but I got terrible attitude from her on top of that. It is a Sunday morning mid summer and it is a "good thing" to be busy. The customer service we received was awful. Tough to give a local company business when they treat you like your a nuisance. This is a tiny little cafe that has both inside and outside seating. We went around lunchtime but asked if we could still get breakfast food, and they said sure since they weren't super busy. So nice! I had the delicious blueberry french toast, which was 2 pieces with a cream cheese filling and COVERED in blueberries - hub had the veggie/jack cheese omelet which came with several pieces of a buttered, really good nutty bread/toast. I have to say Lydia's has the best location for outdoor "Main Street" dining. You can watch the world go by. Depending on what you get the food can be ok to great.
