We were obviously inconveniencing our waitress by asking her to take our order and then delivering it to us. Won't be visiting again.

Good ol' fashioned greasy spoon, beloved by locals, reasonably priced, quick service... gets the job done in a spot near the water.

The staff seemed frantic but they were working very promptly to make sure customers could be seated. I was told that our party of 2 would be about 15-20 mins. They took my phone # to add to the waitlist. The wait was more like 6 or 7 mins. We were seated in the bar area at the booths. The bar is somewhat loud but it was still average. It's nice that they can accommodate parties of 2 so easily. There were several large groups, primarily families so it's certainly kid-friendly. They serve up some of the BEST fries! I suggest the O'Crabby Patty. It is on the heavy side with caramelized onions but wow is it packed with flavor. I will be getting that again for sure!

The menu has changed a lot from what is online. There isn't a plant based or mushroom burger anymore. The prices have all gone up between 10-30%. The good? Live music on Thursday night with Dave Clark. He plays a wide range of music. Show him some love! Our server was pretty great. Friendly, answered all our questions, and gave good recommendations. Overall, a pleasant local Irish place with many different food options.

We got the same great service as if they hadn't just had a busy holiday weekend, except they were out if chorizo. We don't eat chorizo anyway, so no matter. We were there for the promise of a fantastic breakfast. The menu is manageable, lots of choices~all pitstop themed~ but not so many that it was a chore to choose. I decided on a 3 egg swiss and mushroom omelette. It was explained that toast was extra, which isn't the norm, at least in my experience. But I dove in and ordered Rye. My Son ordered 2eggs over easy, the potatoes (not the deep fried version), bacon, ham, sausage and 2 pancakes. This breakfast seemed to include a toast option, for those who are keeping score. The food was spectacular. Very well done, simply, and with no frills save for a killer playlist that included Bittersweet Symphony. You don't often find yourself sitting at a counter, eating breakfast with special toast and hear The Verve. Worth a mention. The service was crisp, thorough and we did get a lovely smile and thank you as we checked out. But at the end of it all, the food is, or should be the star. And it was.

Seriously It's such a shame to have such a prime location in a vacation town and not have a clue how to service customers. Get educated on the service industry please. I will school you for now .... It is obvious you cater to locals and town type people but what a MISSED opportunity to capitalize on different types of vacationers June - Aug not locals . Vacationers with money (TO SPEND) You WILL see us yearly , so obviously you would try to remember them and treat them accordingly We are not going anywhere we have a cottage on the lake The staff must not be about their money I don't get it Big L for PPP. New people coming to the area please go across the street to Tumble Down for a nice drink and bite with good service. This is a community favorite and for good reason: the seafood is exceptionally cooked and the classic lakeside, vintage feel is approachable and still well maintained. This trip, we went to Morrissey's three times for lunch/ice cream and once for dinner. For dinner, we sat in the main dining room. Admittedly, service was a bit slower than some people liked in our party (but I was okay with waiting for it, I'm on lake time!) that was the only qualm we had at dinner was how the service was slow because they are obviously understaffed. When we came for lunch with a smaller party, we decided to sit at the bar instead which is on the other side of the building and more of a dive bar feel: an Irish pub. All of the meals were great, but we preferred sitting in the bar and got much faster service there during our lunch. Of all of the food we've tried, my favorites were the fried scallop and the Cajun shrimp bruschetta. And the Mac and cheese was yummy! But everything has tasted great! And you can't go wrong with some ice cream! Make a reservation if you're planning on doing dinner, but expect a slower pace. So maybe have a snack or don't come starving and know it will be a little slower. But worth the wait in my opinion! Or sit at the bar if you're okay with music and a little bit of a louder environment during your meal with your party.

They have breakfast deals depending on the day. The food is kinda pricey but it was honestly pretty good. I felt like their portions were pretty big too! I think the only issue we had was with our waitress! She was pretty short with us and not very kind...I feel like we have had something similar to happen to us before! I had asked her if the home fries or hash browns were more popular, and she had a pretty short/rude response back! Although she seemed to warm up to our party by the time we left and it was time to leave a tip, she didn't come by much to see if we needed any refills! We tried to get her attention to get a coffee refill, and it was hard to get more! I think we ended up having someone go up to the counter to ask because it was so hard to get her attention! Overall, it was a pretty good experience! I normally don't get too worked up about the service not being the best, but she was pretty rude to us! I think I would come back but the service is really the only "bad" thing I have to say about the Olde Bay Diner if that's something that would bother someone! I would also caution against bringing a large party here! They would probably try to stick you at the bar which isn't the most comfortable!
