10/10! Perfect service, so IDK how the food could be better than the service, but it was. Fish chowder with homemade bread, then the mountainous, decadent seafood platter (with breaded shrimp, clams, scallops, white fish (maybe oysters) with fresh tartar sauce, comfort-food-level potato salad, and coleslaw with a clever zing to complement the seafood. Scrubbed clean, pleasant home-kitchen atmosphere, and clearly where the locals go: if you have to wait out front to be seated don't sweat it. If I'm passing through again, this is DEFINITELY my stop. read more

Ok let's get the queer-o-meter out of the way - staff is a perfect 10. The clientele? Wellllll I'd say the regulars are at a 6 and everyone else an 8. Let's just say this butch had a few older gentlemen staring but I paid them no mind, really. We came back here since we had a great experience awhile back when we were visiting the area. We weren't disappointed. The staff is top notch, friendly, helpful and accommodating. We've only been for breakfast and have had the pancakes, egg dishes and breakfast sandwiches. All solid great choices. The coffee is my only "con" it's a little weak for my liking but hot so that's a plus. Looking for a clean, friendly diner experience? Hit this place up. Cheers! We had an amazing lunch here at George's. The place is laid back and the wait staff is always friendly and fabulous. Today we had full belly fried clams with baked potato and I had chicken croquettes with butternut squash and baked potato. The croquettes were huge about 4-5" across. While on vacation, we decided to go here after looking at yelp reviews. It wasn't far from the Center Harbor Inn where we were staying. I saw online that they had daily specials, a few of them looked interesting. Overall their pricing was very good, especially compared to some of the restaurants in the area. Parking in front, also a lot across the street. Not sure if you can park there, but that's where we parked. We went around 6, luckily it was not crowded. We were able to sit right down. The place is very outdated, it looks like an older diner from the second you walk in. Our waitress was very friendly and constantly checking on us. She wanted to make sure we enjoyed our experience there. I ordered the Philly steak sandwich, which is basically a Philly cheesesteak. I didn't get everything on it, just the cheese, peppers, and onions. I also got fries to go along with my sandwich. The fries were hot and looked to be fresh made, but didn't have much taste. I added a little salt which I rarely do, that gave them some flavor. The Philly cheesesteak was OK. Couldn't taste the cheese, and the steak was just OK. Not a lot of flavor but it was hot and fresh. My fiancé and I normally pick two meals and share them. We did not do that today. I sampled some of her country fried steak. I realize that I made a mistake by not sharing. It was flavored deliciously, and fried very tender. The gravy was some of the best that I have eaten. I ended up dipping some of my french fries into it. My wife, daughter, and I visited on a quiet Saturday afternoon for a late lunch before a show at the Winnipesaukee Playhouse. It's a nice quaint diner with a covered patio for outside seating. There is ample on street parking. The Diner is located just a few yards from quaint downtown Meredith, NH. My wife and I ordered the turkey club on whole wheat with French fries, and my daughter ordered the turkey sub on whole wheat and it came with potato chips. The turkey club could not have been any thicker. It was impossible to place in your mouth and take a bite. Just for the record, I love it that way. The fries were overcooked and mostly likely cooked a while ago and were sitting around. My daughter enjoyed her turkey club. The service was excellent and friendly. The prices were very reasonable and coming from NJ, the diner capital of the world, we wanted to experience a NH diner. It was worth it. read more

Excellent spot! I've been in twice for breakfast in the last few weeks and WOW. The food is fresh and comes out fast. The omelettes are to die for and they're huge! They have gluten free pancakes, bread (&French toast!) which can be tough to come across in New Hampshire so I was beyond excited by this. The services has been outstanding both times- our server Jen was bubbly and hard working! I don't remember the other servers name but she was also wonderful! Our family came to Meredith, NH since my husband was playing in the NH hockey classic tournament and we stopped here twice for a late breakfast. It's super homie and everyone has been incredibly nice and professional in their services. We had the opportunity to experience the ambiance during busier hours and when the place wasn't packed and they handled everything super well for us as far as customer service and the quickness of the food coming out wasn't delayed at all. Our kids that are both under 10 really enjoyed it and were happy to be going back for breakfast especially since they offer drawing tablets for the kids to keep entertained while we are in there. We did see they sold the drawing tablets as well so we grabbed 2 of them for the girls to keep drawing during our stay in NH, so that was cool. They even had Pepsi which is hard to find in other locations. We love finding places like these and the fact that everyone was so nice and attentive is why we enjoyed returning. If we ever make it back to NH (our friends told us it's super fun in the summer) then we will definitely be coming back to this diner. read more

Stopped here for breakfast after a rather underwhelming dinner the night before and this place was certainly rejuvenating. It literally looks like a tiny house from the outside but plenty of seating inside and I must give credit to the owners for making the absolute best use of the space available. The waiting staff were amazing and our server was very kind and responsive. The food was phenomenal and well priced. This is one of the stalwarts for diner food in Meredith. It's been around forever and feels dated and in desperate need of redecorating. The menu featured a wide selection of breakfast, lunch and entrees with a few specials as well. The turkey dinner wrap we split was quite good with a generous portion of large chunks of freshly cooked turkey, cranberry dressing and stuffing. They were nice to serve it on 2 plates. The accompanying french fries looked well done, but were not cooked enough inside- so not worth eating. Our server was polite and attentive.
