This understated nail salon gives a brilliant shellac manicure. I found myself in desperate need of a manicure for the holidays. I was reticent to just try a nail salon for fear they would ruin my nails. Plus, I get bored. If there was a way to have mani/pedi/hair/eyelashes/facials done while I was sleeping I would pay extra. Lynda's Nail Salon was my second choice based on the lack of Yelp reviews. My first being "Hair and Nail It". However, after waiting at the unattended podium for 5 minutes I left. A few stores down was Lynda's. Important to note is that Lynda's has anti-ambiance. The decor of the petite salon looks like it hasn't been made over since the late 90's. Everything is clean, just not fancy. The prices are reasonable. My shellac manicure was $25 plus tip. They have a $15 credit card minimum and don't accept Discover or Amex. Tip is in cash. This place earned its 5-stars based on the manicure and the kindness of the owner. My manicure was in two stages. Steven cleaned and shaped my nail. This took about 15 min because he was incredibly thorough. Most shellac manicurist don't take the time to remove dead skin, clean the cuticle, or soak the nail and remove debris. They just buff the nail bed, shape a little then begin applying gel. The end result is you have a shiny manicure to accent your shabby cuticle. Steven meticulously carved around the nail bed, resulting in new-ish looking nails. After my nail was prepared I moved to the gel station. There the owner's wife helped me decide which shade of natural gel color I wanted. She did a final once over to ensure the shape was perfect and the applied the base coat, two gel color coats and a top coat. My nails looked incredible. I said the owner were kind because while I finished an elderly, regular woman walked in. Up until then I thought they were just quiet. But, when this woman walked in they were cordial, neighborly and genuinely caring. It created a warm atmosphere that made the non-decor seem trivial. I highly recommend Lynda's Salon. This husband and wife owned business has been at the heart of franklin for 18 years!! It doesnt have the glamour or the aesthetics of a fancy salon- but what it lacks in ambiance, they make up for in cleanliness, price, and work. They also didnt rush us at ALL and did not act "put out" by my 12 yr old daughters nail art request (unlike so many other places who seem very annoyed to have to do kids nails. I will def go back! Was told there was no wait "just 1 minute" and after 25 mins i looked and saw everyone eating lunch amd when they saw me looking they were suprised and then took me. Totally forgot about me... :-/ I told the woman I have sensative feet and asked her to be gentle. She was talking to the worker next to her and not being gentle at all. 2 of my toes were bleeding from being cut too deep. The gentleman to my left was in so much pain too. Rushed! My pedi was done in 18 mins... never have i had one so quick. There was little effort to have it done well and more effort to just be done. This place is great! I have been coming here for years for pedicures. Each one lasts about a month and the cost is so reasonable. Was $25 when I first started coming years ago and now only up to $30 (recent 5/21). Annie does a great job and i am in and out of there in 40 minutes which I love. The place is clean and conveniently located downtown Franklin next to Bamboo Restaurant. I have always made an appointment and have never had to wait longer than 5 minutes and even that is rare. I wish that 0 stars was an option. I had a gel manicure here on Saturday afternoon. It's Monday morning and my nails are destroyed . First the person that did my nails used dirty tools. He cleaned under my nails with his long finger nail. They didn't let me use the UV light for the entire 60-90 seconds between. Now I have family holiday parties and my nails are coming off in chunks. I have been going to Lynda's Nails for my last three acrylic fills. Each time I went back thinking it would be better. It did NOT get better. They lie about the prices claiming that it's "$17" for a fill; however, since I want mine cut shorter to maintain the length they charge me "$20." Moreover, the woman said that it's "took much work" to do my nail shape (coffin) which is another reason why they charge more. The lying about the prices is just the beginning. To give a bit of credit, the man who works there does a pretty good job. He absolutely knew my nail shape, length, and thinness of my nails. He did exactly what I wanted; however, he does not paint them well leaving my nails looking bumpy and/or streaky. I've repeatedly repainted my nails at least a week into getting them done. The woman who works there is the most disrespectful person I have ever met. Actually she's just down right rude. She has no respect for anyone who is there. For example, one day I went with my mother and we got the worst service. My mother was the one who got placed with her. During the manicure she YELLED at my mother repeatedly saying that she kept moving her hands. She made so many rude comments towards my mother and placing the blame on her... a customer. Additionally, the manicure was not even good. She did not get her nail shape correct, nor does she apply the acrylic or cut the nails correctly (she cut them with a clipper and not the acrylic tool). My mother and I have been coming here for months. We are locals and have been to every nail salon in the area. No salon compares to the genuine and excellent care you receive here. A very friendly couple works here and they do their best to make sure your experience is good. I've gotten acrylics, a manicure, and a pedicure and they all have been done so well. They are not rude like the other salons who talk about you while they are doing your nails but are very genuine. They are very hardworking and if you call ahead you will not experience any wait time; me and my mother have not had to wait ever as we do call ahead. Have been looking for a nail salon since moving to Franklin. I had an awful experience. The wife was very rough when taking off a lose acrylic nail. She cut my finger pretty badly with the nail clipper and didn't apologize or offer anything to stop the bleeding. When I went to wash off my hand I noticed that the sanitizer had an out of order sign. I would not go here again on a bet. read more

This was the worst shellac manicure experience I've ever had, and I've been getting this kind of manicure since it first came out years ago. The man who prepped my nails was extremely harsh when filing and fixing my cuticles, my nails actually ached after I left. Also, I had to point out on almost every nail that they were slanted and uneven, I've never had to do this in the 10+ years that I've been getting my nails done, as I'm not super picky, but this was horrible. He was completely against clipping my nails and cleaning up with a file, he only wanted to keep filing down until they were short as I like them. Their color selection left much to be desired, and only had about 20% of the colors that most places have for gel, across 3 brands. Lastly, they offer OPI gel colors and do not have OPI base/ top coat, which was the icing on the cake for me and of course I was too deep in to abort ship and just pay for a basic manicure since my nails were so roughed up from the earlier said horrific filing. To top it off they didn't even do a massage at the end, and 11 days later and my nails are all completely lifting. I'm usually someone who goes 3 weeks and got a neutral color so it wouldn't look bad grown in, and already need a new manicure. Needless to say I will not be returning which is unfortunate because I like supporting little places in town as opposed to big salons that offer nails too but I will have to find another place. Good luck to anyone who attempts to try this place, the other reviews sold me and did not steer me in the right direction. read more

I got a shellac manicure and they did a good job. The design wasn't exactly what I wanted but it was still nice. They did an AMAZING job with my cuticles, which were in really rough shape. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that they didn't seem as friendly as everyone else has commented. The woman barely spoke to me even though I tried to make conversation. read more

I went for a gel manicure on Thursday and my nails came out nice; no complaints on my manicure. They had a rather small selection of gel polish to choose from, but like everyone has mentioned prior - it's a small shop run by a husband and wife, both very nice people. I chose three stars mainly because the shop didn't seem very clean and I prefer a more hygienic shop. This doesn't mean they have filthy or disgusting shop - I just prefer a cleaner atmosphere when getting my nails done. Would I go back to Linda's? They cut my toe then were frustrated with me bc my foot would not stop bleeding so they had to wait to finish painting my nails. Were not in the least bit sorry they drew blood, and now I'm worried about infection. Stay FAR AWAY from this place!! read more

The guy told me I couldn't come back if I continued picking my cuticles and I explained that I hadn't had a manicure in a while and my cuticles are dry...can't believe I even had to defend myself isn't that why we get manicures in the first place! With a heavy heart I have to warn people to avoid this salon as I unfortunately got a terrible case of nail fungus after a visit here and it really ruined my summer as I has to make many trips to the podietry doctor who treated my toes. At this point my toenails are still not grown back. I talked to the people and they told me it was not possible by my doctor said it had to have been from the last place I got a pedicure. Avoid avoid avoid this place! I took my daughter here because she loves going to a real salon, and at 7 who wouldn't? We have been to many salons in the area with no problems - EVER. She had her nails and toes done at about 2pm. We sat there and let them dry under the uv light until we were advised to go. That night at about 6pm after showering she showed me the nail polish was coming off her nails, some nails were completely bare. I took her back the next morning when at least half of the nails had polish coming off. The woman told me "i have never seen this happen before" well, let me tell you neither have I . I take my daugter all over the place and it never happened to her. The woman was condescending telling me we didn't wait long enough and gave me every excuse in the book. When she agreed to do it over, she had the male do it and I had paid for a design the prior day. The male said "NO DESIGN!" --- really? because that's what i paid for originally. The woman did the design and kept browbeating me that I had done something to cause the polish to come off..it didnt chip off it was coming off in strips. My friend who is a licensed esthetician told me that the polish comes off like that when they don't bother to clean the nails prior to putting on the polish. Her exact words were "Believe me they didn't care because she was a little girl" What an AWFUL experience for my poor little girl!!!!!!!!!! From now on I will only go to Nail Sensations in Wrentham. If I could give a negative star review, I would. The female salon owner must hate her job because she is miserable. She purposefully disregarded my requests and when asked to rectify her mistake she barked at me. She then challenged me to ask the only other patron in the place to decide if I was right or if she was right. Do not go here if you want a relaxing moment of pampering or a good pedicure. read more

This place is a hidden gem. Annie's nail art is amazing and like Alyssa wrote Annie and Steve are both sweethearts. I've been there many times and have never encountered any issues with nail fungus as the other reviewer had. Its an exceptionally clean place.
