This is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE chocolatier! Hands down the BEST chocolate you can find. Just the smoothness and taste is just wow! Making my mouth water just thinking about it. Chocolate made from bean and imported from Switzerland! Just go in and you'll be hooked. You can sample the approximate 20 varieties of flavors from the slabs they have available. They have a variety of boxed chocolates, chocolate bars, a selection of chocolate in the case that you can pick and choose to buy as well as the chocolate slabs that you can buy portions or just get the whole dang slab lol. I love their chocolate bars and my favs from the slabs are the Caramel Sale and Strawberry. I mean I've never had anything from here that I didn't like though. Maybe the hubs will read this and surprise me with some for Valentines Day! :)-

The Läderach at UTC provides for some phenomenal chocolate options in a space that was formerly inhabited by Godiva (which effectively exited the retail business in the US). I can't speak highly enough of the offerings here. To start: There are several chocolate bark flavors of varying cocoa content and inclusions, ranging from dark chocolate with pistachios to milk chocolate with Smarties (go ahead, try a sample). In general, I think they are a bit thicker than optimal (i.e., I'd prefer a thinner slice with more surface area, all else equal), but they're incredibly decadent and addictive nonetheless. Läderach also has several chocolate bars with cacao bean origins ranging from Madagascar to Ecuador. Honestly, they're all great. Yes, you might get different flavor notes from each of them, but I would likely prioritize the level of cocoa content you're looking for. And then there are the truffles. These are awesome and range in texture & flavor. It's challenging to understand how they would taste simply looking at the labels, but the staff is really helpful in explaining the options and curating the various choices. This place is not cheap but makes for an excellent gift or an opportunity to splurge on ethereal chocolate (I should note that the owners take ethical sourcing quite seriously!).

It was a nice shop that also had some nice chocolate candy options too. Fudge, turtles, candy apples and more along with ice cream and sherbet. We tried the New Orleans Praline Pecan and it was delicious. It did not disappoint. The waffle cones are supposed to be a hit but I just enjoyed mine in a cake cone. Nice friendly staff - they also have fudge samples

OH MY GOODNESS, where has this ice cream and fudge been all my life?!…read more I think it's an East Coast company, but California needs one of these ASAP. I stopped in late Wednesday night and sampled some of their fudge. It was absolutely amazing. Heavenly Slice Fudge truly lived up to its name. I also tried a sample of their Caramel Sea Salt ice cream, and it was a 10/10. Ultimately, I chose not to buy anything that night since I hadn't eaten dinner yet, but I knew for sure I was coming back the next day. On Thursday night, I brought all my coworkers with me since we were in town for a work trip. I ordered a waffle bowl with a scoop of the Caramel Sea Salt Chocolate ice cream, and it did not disappoint. I usually end my reviews by saying, "If I'm ever in the area again, I'll be back." For this place, I WILL be back--even if that means taking myself to the area just to get more ice cream.

Actually, just get there early anyway because the pastry items are fresher/better. There's indoor and outdoor seating. I typically skip trying to park next to it and just go to the garage and walk over. The service is more attentive than a typical French cafe overseas but not as on top of you as a typical place in the US. You can definitely order at the counter in French if you want to and I've had a waiter there flip between English, French, Spanish, and another language (maybe Romanian?) in one order. The sandwiches I've had were all lovely, and had a little side salad that could benefit from a better dressing (they serve an okay vinaigrette though). I've yet to encounter a single bad pastry - the elcairs, mousse cakes, and flaky pastries like chausson pommes are on par with the typical boulangerie/pattisserie in France and don't make me think US adaptation at all. Prices are reasonable.

I got the poularde crepe, wanting something savory. This was solid and tasty. Everyone else got nice little meals as well. I do feel like the portion and the quality is a little lacking for the price. That being said, I don't know that there are better French options in the area. I also got a palmier pastry and I should have gotten a croissant, the palmier tasted a little stale. The locale was adorable, with beautifully tiles tables really setting the scene. Overall, not terrible! Worthwhile if you're really feeling French.
