I had high expectations for this place and was super excited to try this place out since it was close to where I live & kind of new. I had made an appointment 3 days earlier and even confirmed through a phone call that I would be there. The day comes and I go I walk in and I don't see anyone in the reception but there was someone doing their makeup on one of the mirrors in the back. She looked up at me gave me a look and said "can I help you?" I said, "yes and I have an appt at 2:45." I don't understand why she looked so confused as I had made the appointment 3 days earlier I'm sure it showed up in the books. Anyways she tells me to wait and then calls me over to the table. I just got the weirdest vibes almost like passive aggressive. She seemed so uninterested in doing my nails. There was no one else in the whole place anyways it was completely dead so I didn't understand why she was acting like that. It's not like it was super busy and I just dropped by and asked to be squeezed in. In the end the receptionist was there and she was really nice. I decided to tip the nail tech in cash and I went back to the table and she was on her phone. I thanked her and said "here's your tip." She didn't even look up at me or take it from my hands and just said in a very monotone voice "thanks" and so I just put the money down. Although my nails turned out nice, I can't give this place more than 2 stars. I just didn't feel like this place really cares about customer service and treating clients with utmost respect. Just had the rudest call over an appointment I tried to cancel over the phone however there wasn't an answer. I should not have to chase down the store to make sure I get my appointment canceled or rescheduled. Tried calling the day before but there wasn't anyone answering the phone. Whoever called me to say I didn't make the appointment rudely expressed how interesting it was that i didn't try again. Not my issue. I tried and there wasn't an answer. I had barely sat down when she was already very rushed and rude. For a nail salon in Van Nuys she is quick to assume people are cheap or can't pay her what other "rich" clients would pay. They will force you to get gel, anything to up-sell they don't care what you want, since they are a new business and they seem like they are failing horribly. And if you look at other reviews they are mostly new users people that they probably begged to help them. Always keep an eye for that. Decided to leave my original nail spa place because it was too far and doesn't fit my schedule any more and decided to use yelp for help to hunt for a new one, So I call in on Sunday around 11am and asked if they had an availability at 1:30pm and I was placed on hold and she said she can bring me in at 2pm and I was thinking great! They lady who picked up the phone was a little lost but she explained that it is a new nail place and that I should come and check it out and see how things would go because I wasn't sure if they will be good enough. I decided to get there 20min early to check out the place, and nail color...etc and as soon as I pulled up I felt like I was going to be mugged any moment, the parking lot was almost empty and dirty and the places that surrounds the nail place looked evacuated of some sort...but anyways I needed my nails to be done. I walk in and the front just walks past me as I'm saying hello to her and keeps talking on her phone and after 5min she decides to pay me attention. LONG STORY SHORT: I asked her if I can pay right now for my full set of acrylic and she said it will be $35 and then she asked is that all, and I told her I want exactly this: full set coffin acrylic with the color I wanted as well as making sure it was Matted, because I don't like it shiny. Then the lady goes, oh one moment I need to ask how much and I remember thinking you just told me how much and then she goes to talk to the nail tech and I can easily overhear the tech telling her okay so she wants gel nails and matted? And the front desk says no and then again the nail tech says well for gel nails she should do this and that and then the front tells her for the second time that I am not getting gel then I got up to explain to the lady what I want and even then she tries to force the gel on me and I politely explained to her I dont want the gel and all I want is full set matted and AGAIN she ignores me and talks some more about the gel so I just walked away and the front goes okay so for all of this it will be $40 , which I refused to pay for a place that looks so empty and had one tech and one client ahead of me, I have no trust to just shell out. At my pervious nail spa I paid $38 it's not a big deal to me and not much difference but they way the tech talked to me like I'm stupid I didn't appreciate it, and they have no right to charge these prices for a shitty location. If I could give this place 0 stars, I wouldn't hesitate. I was running 10 minutes late to an appointment at this salon (I called in advance to tell them I was coming in a few minutes late), when I was seated the technician was quick to tell me she couldn't do anything "long, designs, or too crazy" as a salon I would expect them to be able to satisfy the customer with whatever THEY would like, not the case. While I was getting my nails done I noticed the technician was in a hurry and was paying little attention to the details while cutting and filing my nails. When I got the chance to look at them I was appalled at how poorly they were sculpted. One nail leaning this way and another leaning another way, they were so crooked that it looked like half of some nails were missing. I asked to use the bathroom and on the way back I ran into the receptionist. I showed her my nails and quietly (i didn't want to embarrass the technician) told her that my nails were not coming out how I expected and I would like to stop the process. She then called the manager over and the manager took a look, after some observation she offered to redo them for me at a later date which i agreed to, she also offered to remove them but I said no because I didn't want to embarrass the original technician. So I got my things and walked out, as I'm walking out the original technician ran after me and started angrily yelling "If you didn't like them you shouldn't have kept wasting my time" as if my presence had been wasting her time. I told her I just didn't like her work while walking away and she continued to yell in a loud ghetto voice "YOURE MAD" "YOURE JUST MAD YOU WERE LATE" over and over again as if my tardiness affected her skill set. This was very highly unprofessional and I felt harassed with her approach. In the many years of getting my nails done I have NEVER dealt with such an unbelievably unprofessional and unpleasant salon like I did with this one. They just lost a customer. read more

My first time coming here last week my regular place is getting so.pricey so wanted to try something new. Been 8-9 days got a gel manicure and a normal pedicure w Essie longwear. First, I'll say I'd prob never get a pedicure here again because they don't use plastic lining in their foot tubs which honestly is just super gross to me. I'm not a foot person and I just can't handle that level of uncleanliness. Second, My toenail chipped after less than a week! And ive been using the Essie longwear for many months now and it never ever chips at my old place. Maybe they didnt use the longwesr topcoat cause my nails just seemed like dull and not shiny. Third, Two of my gel nails have also chipped and peeled on the sides. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. Pity cause my nails came out really pretty so it's a bummer that it barely lasted a week. Rather spend the little extra money at my normal place when my nails last 3+ weeks. But the ladies and owner are very very nice people and pleasant to talk to I will.def say that!! read more

I have mixed feelings about my experience here. The woman who shaped my nails and trimmed my cuticles didn't seem to know what she was doing to the point where I started wondering if she was even licensed. I am not saying this to be rude or nasty, but it seemed like she had never filed or shaped nails before. It was extremely awkward. I also noticed that I did not see a single license posted on the wall and as a licensed cosmetologist myself, I found this to be a bit unnerving. It's possible they are posted and I missed them, but I looked around and didn't see any and they are supposed to be posted at the nail stations. Anyway, this woman was very sweet, but she cut me TWICE with the nippers and did not apologize, then she said something about it being my dry skin and just kept rubbing the bleeding cut with alcohol. I noticed a second cut on my cuticle later in the day because it was painful to the touch. When I mentioned that the nail shapes were ragged and uneven, she said that my nails were too short and that she would be filing my skin, but a professional manicurist knows how to work with short nails and get them to be an even shape even when they are short. I didn't expect her to file and file and file, but they should at least be smooth on the edges and have the same shape. She also kept putting rubbing alcohol on my nails (I'm talking five or six different times) and I could feel my hands becoming very dry. It just didn't feel like a professional manicure to me. There was no hand massage or even lotion application. The lady who did my pedi (I'm assuming she is the owner, very sweet, friendly and professional) did an awesome job except that the scrub was minimal and my heels are still all rough, which is the main reason I got a pedi. I usually go home with SUPER soft feet after a good pedicure. The nails themselves look beautiful, though, and I am happy with that aspect. A third person did the gel color on my nails and she they turned out gorgeous. I am totally satisfied with the end result of my services here, but the overall experience wasn't pleasant. I felt nervous and confused by a lot of what was happening. I know it's a new shop and I definitely think they have a good thing going here--the shop itself is very cute and clean and you can tell from all their photos that they have some talented people working here, but I don't feel like I got to see their best work today as far as the manicure before my gel coat was applied. If it hadn't been for that, it would have been a 5-star experience. Nevertheless, thank you ladies for the beautiful nails and for being so sweet. read more

They were really thorough with everything and the blond manager(?) asked me a couple times how everything was going to make sure I was happy and offered me a drink. I didn't get his name but it was a man who did my pedicure. I would have stayed to get a fill on my acrylics but I was low on time. It only cost me 20 dollars surprisingly! This was my first time coming to this nail place, I found this place on Yelp and went based off of the number of positive reviews. The place itself is very clean and pretty looking, it feels well maintained and more luxurious than other mom and pop places with the same prices. The pricing is reasonable, I paid $38 for a gel manicure and regular pedicure plus $5 more that included the design on both my hands. I did see this price deal on Yelp and mentioned it when I called for an appointment. They have some cheaper prices for individual services as well. At first I wasn't to happy with my service. I was seated for my pedicure first, it was quick and very well done. The woman who worked with me took the time to really trim my cuticles and shape my toe nails. However, when I moved to a different station with a gentleman to do my gel finger nails I wasn't as pleased. He seemed to not care as much about the details of my nails, at one point I had to point out some parts of my cuticle that were left untrimmed. Also he cut me in a couple of places on the sides of my nails enough to draw traces of blood. As he was applying the layers of gel polish there were some parts of the side of my nail that the color didn't reach and on another finger the gel polish was over applied onto the skin of my cuticle. Some of the edges near the base of my nail were uneven as well, not round and smooth. I felt disappointed that he wasn't seeing and correcting issues that I could see with my naked eye. After applying the gel polish and top coat to all my nails I was moved to a third woman who was to do the design on the ring finger of both hands. I felt uneasy and I don't like to make a fuss, but I decided to point out the small issues I was having with the gel application and she herself went back and redid a top coat of color to each of my finger nails and a clear coat. I am SO glad I said something because with her one coat of polish she was able to correct all of my issues with the shape, fill in the missing spots with color, and fix the edge that had color on my cuticle. I wish she could have done the whole gel polish application from the start because she seriously redeemed my nail job in one go. Once she started on the design I could tell she was taking her time to get it right, she even wiped my design clean and started over if she needed to without me having to ask or step in at any point. When she was done it was perfect and I had no issues with her application. Overall her work redeemed this visit and I really do like the feel of the place. Plus my pedicure was fast and amazing too, I didn't have any issues with it. I don't get my nails done very often so I am very picky about it and I tip well (over 20%) when the nail techs are very detail oriented. I would come back again and recommend my friends come here with the stipulation to ask/point out if anything needs to be corrected. read more

They have a huge selection of gel colors and even matching regular polishes to match the gel...Thought that was pretty cool since I always struggle to find a color for my toes that matches the gel color. I got my nails done by Kelly don't get me wrong the place is nice she was great the only thing I would say is I got my nails done the 14th of May I drove all the way from Inglewood because of the reviews and my coworker came. I was on a time crunch because I also needed to get to work so I didn't really check the work before I walked out. I got to work and didn't really notice anything until I got home some of the jewels weren't the same size the glue was a mess. I got these little gold beads as well and they were sloppy if you looked closely you could see the missing sections, I'm not even going to start with my pedicure the dude seemed a little new but like I said I was in a rush and didn't really feel like complaining I took my shoe off and the polish wasn't even if you slid you finger over my toe nails all you feel is bumps I had gel polish all oveer my feet I had the worst pain come to find out he attempted to get a ingrown nail and I guess just said fuck it my big toe was swollen for two days and as of today all of my nails snapped off right at the tips. You would think the prices that they charge you would get quality but guess not I spent a total of a 135 not including the 20 dollar tip for a full set with designs and a gel pedicure. And just another thing if you're going to charge you should at least offer free cuticle work. If you notice you customers cuticles need a little love and their already paying for a full set you should just do the solid because how are you going to have a poppin full set with fucked up cuticles smh it just don't make no sense. I won't b coming back in I'm all about quality over quantity. If the quality of my nails would of been worth the price they would of had a loyal customer cause ya girl don't play about my nails!!! read more
