I've used this shop twice, both times for custom designed jewelry to honor the passing of a family member. It's a wonderful family-owned business, a true treasure of our town. Their work is exceptional. The owners have taken special care to ensure that my needs are met. This last time, I was hoping to have an item made for my mother-in-law in time for her birthday, after her mother had passed away. I knew the timeline was short, and I didn't have high hopes it would be done in time. The jeweler helped me select a design with beautiful symbolism, and was genuinely caring and respectful of the situation I was in. I went to get a pin drilled out of my watch band that had broke. The owner went to work on it immediately. After trying for about 20 min. he told me it cannot be drilled out and that a new band is $120. He recommended I replace my watch since mine was over 20 yrs. old. I found a very nice watch and was given a nice discount. I looked online and could not find this watch for less money. I went back and bought the watch, and I love it. A couple days ago I went in to pick up some repaired jewelry and was in a hurry so really didn't look at the work the jeweler had done. When later that day I finally had a chance to look at his work I was very happy. In February I brought in a pair of diamond earrings that the posts had broken off of and they replaced the settings and had them back to me in less than a week. They also resized a watchband and bought a lot of old gold and silver off us in exchange for their services. I had gone to a different jeweler recently, had my mother's ring sized and the job was less than satisfactory. After searching for months, I finally found the perfect wedding ring at M & M Jewelry. They even customized it so it is one-of-a-kind. M & M is a family owned business and the owner and staff are truly lovely people. You will notice that everyone that comes into the business are treated as family. Absolutely amazing! If you need any jewelry fixed or sized this is the place to go. My husband special ordered my engagement ring online and it came too big. Due to the nature of the ring, no jeweler was able to size it and the original place he ordered from was going to charge $500! The man who works here, I believe his name is Mano, immediately took my ring and assured me that he could get the job done, even thought it was a lot of work. It only took 3 days and it looked perfect! Could not even tell it was altered. The best part.... he charged $60!!! I used this place for all my needs until they did me wrong. I asked to resize my wedding ring and to melt my deceased father's wedding ring into it. I failed to weigh the two rings first. I picked up the ring and it didn't seem any heavier or thicker then it was when I dropped it off. Resizing the ring too (I lost some weight) and it didn't fit right. I asked the jeweler to make the adjustment as it was too tight and the jeweler declined and said it fit perfect. How would he know how comfortable it felt on my finger? The jeweler said to wait until after summer and it would be fine. It's not fine. I took it to another jeweler and was told the bottom of the ring was too thin to fix without added gold and under the top of the ring was a mess. This is why it don't not feel right when I try to wear it. Where is all the gold from my fathers ring? I feel as though they just kept most of my fathers ring (some was put under the top in a poor job) and did a horrible job resizing. My bad for not weighing the two rings first. Can not trust this jewelry store. I brought in my string of south sea pearls (12 mm all aroun) to have the clasp fixed, the owner says it will take a few days. They gave me a claim receipt for my pearls but the receit was generic. The receipt had no description of the pearls, basically a blank receipt with my name. That should have been a red flag. After about 2 weeks, I called if it was ready, the owner said no (sounded condescending!) Then about a month and still it was not done. I had bad feeling about it, so I decided to retrieved it. When i got to the store, behold, it was ready. I was anxious to see the pearls, and when I saw it, it looked tapered and smaller. I was not happy but did not say anything about, I knew I was conned. But how would i have proven it? I told my husband of my digust when I got home, but I thought, I can not proved it, except for a photo while I was wearing prior to bringing it to the store. My sister who saw those pearls when i first bought it, remembered the original size and when i showed her the string of pearls with the "fixed clasp" she also noticed the pearls are much smaller. I was conned. I would never recommend this store. The old man was the one I was dealing with. Watch out, people! read more
