I found her very rude and unfriendly. I bought a Groupon to try her service. I first texted her in June, but her availability that day didn't work for me, and I went on a vacation shortly after. When I returned and reached out again, she pressed me repeatedly about whether I had already seen her before. I explained that I hadn't, since her June time via our text didn't work, but she kept harping on it. Then it became hard to schedule her and I had to send follow up text message. I thought the issue had been resolved, but when I arrived at her studio, she brought up the same question again and kept harping on it. I finally had to shut it down by suggesting she check my Groupon account to confirm. The only brief conversation we had was her asking how far I lived from the studio and telling me to text her when I was ready to book my next appointment. I also noticed she seemed very reluctant to assist with the placement of my finger during the threading, almost as if she found it unpleasant to touch me or to spend more time explaining to me. I've never experienced this before. In the end, we just let my finger be in imperfect positions while she threaded carelessly. The threading itself felt extremely rushed and turned out uneven. I didn't say anything at the time because I just wanted to get out of there--she made me so uncomfortable that I felt my whole body tense up. this was literally my worst experience ever. i came in around 3:20 and no one was inside. I waited inside for 3 minutes, said hello and walked out. I stood out side for 2 min and finally the lady came out from next door. She rushed and did my eyebrows and I was seated and done IN 2 MINUTES. NO EYEBROWS SHOULD TAKE 2 MINUTES. I've been growing out my eyebrows for 2+ months and I come out with such a shitty job. Not only did she do a TERRIBLE job, she smelled of food as if she were just eating and she was LITERALLY EATING WHILE HELPING ME. I got my eyebrows and upper lip done and it was a nice experience, over all it was affordable and Rena was my threader.

I really needed to get my eyebrows done as it's been over 8 months and doing it myself just wasn't the same. I called M&M to see if there was any availability within the 15 minutes and I was told I could come in to get my eyebrows done. I found free parking on Civic Drive and took a quick minute walk over to M&M. When I walked in I could notice how clean the facility was and there was only one employee there working. Her name is Reena and she is so sweet! She did my eyebrows in a timely manner and this is the first time I haven't been in pain. I'm usually sensitive when I get my eyebrows threaded and tear up, but Reena made sure it was painless! We both had our masks on the whole time, she sanitized her hands, and she made sure to sanitize the materials/work space used. She is currently not accepting paying with card, so please bring cash or you can pay her through venmo. The current price isn't reflected on the website, so I'll mention that it is $15. I'm overall very happy with my eyebrows and will be back here next time! read more

Love this place. Always pleased at how clean my eyebrows look after a visit here. I've driven all the way to Berkeley to have legit East Asians thread my thick eyebrows. Happy with how it was done, but they were unfriendly as all hell. The girls here do a great job and they're so nice. I've come in right as they were counting the till for the day and about to close up shop. They still helped me out and did a great job threading. My #1 advice? When they ask if you'd like aloe, say YES! It feels soooo good to have a quickie massage on your eyebrows and upper lip after a threading. I'd like to say it's painless, and for the most part if is. I'm a freak when it comes to my eyebrows. I've been mis-waxed, mis-shaped and over-plucked so many times... to the point I hesitate having ANYTHING done to my eyebrows until it is ABSOLUTELY necessary. When I finally break down and try "someone new" and I start plugging them with my interview-like questions. How long they've been doing this...can they give me the sort of shape I like...etc. After they've convinced me that "they ARE the best" -- I leave disappointed and pissed off that I still have to use a brow pencil to correct what these "sculptors" have done to my face! She thought to actually SHOW ME where my brows were uneven and suggested corrective measures that will allow that hair to grow ..giving me the base for perfectly proportioned/shaped eyebrows. OMG--shes awesome. Kusma takes her time and does a great job. No bumps or soreness, whatsoever. She even massages my brow line & temples with aloe afterwards *** All for $11! Painless, Careful, and Professional. Finally, a threading salon that understands customer service. I've tried salons in Fairfax, VA, New York, NY, Sunnyvale and Mountain View for more than 5 years. So, I didn't have high expectations because in the past it's always been a quick and PAINFUL transactional relationship. At the typical threading salon they want to get you in and out of their chair in 5 minutes. There isn't much discussion about what you want, checking for stray hairs or making sure it isn't painful. Reena was AMAZING and so careful about her work. My eyes weren't watering after the eyebrow threading (although they still do for the upper lip). She also does a quick massage for your brow area using the aloe gel. If you've been to another salon in the past and had a bad experience (cut skin, a lot of eye-watering, red skin) I would advise you to give it a try again but this time at M&M Thread Salon. I got a great price via KGB Deals ($8 for both eye and lip), but I will keep coming back in the future. For folks that need more frequent threading they offer a $50 for 3 months of unlimited eyebrow threading. If only they offered packages for folks that don't need to come as often. read more

I've been going to M&M Thread salon for approximately 2 years. As a former Berkeley girl, I've had some excellent hair threaders in the past. M&M does a fairly good job depending on who you get. I am a huge fan of Khusma, she once even made my eyebrows look the best they ever have. Plus, she helps shape them by leaving hair so they can even out. Be specific about what you want and they can make it happen. I've never made an appt., just have always dropped in. Parking can be challenging later in the week/weekends so just give yourself time. I find this place to be way more affordable than i-bar and they do a great job. read more

I never get my brows done, I do them myself. Unfortunately when I went in for my appointment I was told to STOP PLUCKING!!!! As in a red alert warning! HAHA. Which is fine because I knew I was in good hands. Thanks to Yelp, I found M&M and was in and out with my service in less than 15 minutes!! No bumps, no rash, barely any pain at all with the service and a nice aloe massage around my eyebrows afterwards. I will definitely keep up my brows with the help of M&M salon! I am glad that there's an affordable threading place in Walnut Creek. Not to mention, the parking is easy. There's a parking lot right across the salon or there's parking nearby on Locust or Main Street. Both are metered but you shouldn't have trouble finding parking. No need to make an appt. and the threading itself is much faster and less painful than other places I've been too. Reena herself is also very nice and professional. This was my first time threading and Raina was great! I had a groupon, so it was 10 for $20 for brow and lip. I think it's a fair price regardless of the groupon. Raina was very sweet, took the time to ask me what I would like and how it would. The process was quick and pretty painless. She got me in and out within 10 minutes. I would definitely go back if it wasn't soo far. It's a hidden gem. It's located in a shopping plaza in the way back, so I like the privacy as well. I do have sensitive skin, so I came out all red but Raina was nice enough to provide some aloe vera. She really aims for perfection. She even trimmed my eyebrows and really paid attention to detail.
