This threading shop is just the best. The owner Reeni and her sister Reema do a fantastic job. They listen and do just what you ask, only better. They know brows (and upper lips too) better than I. I have recently moved and could not find a shop up to their standards, so now I must drive half an hour to have my brows done and it's still worth the drive. This was probably my 4th threading experience in my life, and I had NO IDEA eyebrow threading could be PAINLESS!! I barely felt anything and what I did feel could not be considered pain. Reema listened and made suggestions and threaded and trimmed and aloe vera'd me up in a jiffy, producing a fabulous end result and happy customer. Nice conversation too! I found M&M on Yelp after I decided I never wanted to overpay for iBar ever again. The last time I was visiting my sister in Concord, we went to Broadway to shop and stopped by iBar. One of the aestheticians told me that the sister iBar in Green Valley (Suisun) charged less than them. WTF!! I vowed never to go back and get taken advantage of again! Luckily, and on a happier note, I found M&M. The place is set back from the street on Locust and I had to use my GPS to find it, haha. The girls are friendly and good at what they do. They use the (Nepalese, I think?) method of holding the thread in their mouths and it was a little weird because it had been the first time I'd seen someone do it this way. I was getting my eyebrows done, so she was right in my face. Anyway, she did an excellent job on both me and my sister. My only gripe is that she kept lecturing me on not plucking certain areas of my eyebrows! I kept telling her that I hadn't done my eyebrows in weeks (in anticipation for this appt) and that I had a scar above my eye that prevents hair from growing in properly, but she kept on lecturing. The woman, who didnt mention her name, chopped off a piece of my eyebrow, i mean full on chunk of my brow was missing, when i pointed it out she told me my brows were initially patchy. My hubby dropped me off to get some threading, and he thought it looked a little shady from the outside but it's A LOT nicer on the inside so don't judge a book by it's cover, LOL. He asked me if I was sure I wanted to go there... haha. I had a 315 appt but got off work early and arrived at 245 and they were able to take me in early. I went in for a full face threading... it has been a while since I had any threading done, so I thought I'd opt for a full face. It only took about 20 minutes and the girl who threaded me was very nice and talked to me the whole time. In the past I've had people who didn't even say a word to me. She told me what to do and was friendly about it and asked me if certain parts hurt. It was pretty painless, nothing major just a little stinging. i used to get my brows threaded at the M & M in Berkeley. It was certainly worth the trip, but parking was horrendous. I am thrilled that they have this conveniently located salon in WC. Street parking was easy and the Civic Center lot is across the street. Reena did a great job on my brows. She was diligent, and it was quick and painless. Needed an eyebrow threading and usually go to Cinta in SF. But since I'm 39 weeks pregnant, I needed a place closer. Monsoon (sp?) did my brows and did an average job. She cleaned up my brows, but there really wasn't a shape. I guess I'm used to the Anastasia-trained Jessica at Cinta who does an amazing job. But for $11, I guess I get what I paid for. Finally, an affordable threading place in Walnut Creek. I've been waiting for one forever, and then I moved out of town. Fortunately I still come back and I also happened to have a Yelp Deal. So I took my Yelp Deal to this place about 10 days after they opened. Since it was so new, there weren't a lot of customers. My eyebrows got a lot of attention, and I think the arch is the best it's every been. She even showed me where I overplucked and to make sure I don't pluck there anymore to make sure I get the arch I want. The one thing was that the clean up of hairs under my eyebrow wasn't as good as it could be. There were still a few here and there. But if you're going to ask if I'd rather have good clean up or good arches, I'll take the arches. I don't know how the service will change as they have more customers and less time for each customer, but I sure hope that doesn't change. read more

So I actually found this place on yelp and was pleasantly surprised. It was very reasonably priced at $11 for threading for my brows. I usually go to Green Valley Salon & Spa in Fairfield for $8 threading and was going to go to their sister location, ibar, b/c I was going to be in Walnut Creek but found out it was $16 for threading!! Too expensive for me!! I gave M & M Threading a chance and was happy I did!! So much to the point that even though I live in Fairfield, I will try to make it a point to run errands in Walnut Creek just so that I can get my brows threaded at M & M. Reason why I'm such a smitten kitten with this place: it was quiet and clean when I walked in; the girl was very kind and took me right away. I COULDN'T BELIEVE HOW GENTLE THE PROCESS WAS!! I've been getting my brows threaded for over a year and it always makes my eyes water and it seems like you can feel each individual hair been ripped out. The only reason I get threaded as opposed to waxed is wax takes my skin off too! The young gal was VERY thorough and gentle and it was the most painless experience I have ever had!! After I was done, she put aloe gel on and gave me a mini massage in the threaded area, which had never been done for me anywhere else before. I usually walk out of those places looking like a freak with my eyebrows red for a day or two and broken out. The redness subsided within a fews hours AND I didn't have any sort of break out.
