I was hit by a deer and my insurance connected me with M & S. This was the best thing. My Lexus only had 7100 miles on it and I was pretty upset. They did a fantastic job. This would be the last place I would take anything to get repaired. Last summer my 2006 Cadillac DTS suffered substantial rear end damage. After a lengthy time at M&S collision in Valparaiso my wife went to pickup our car. She came home in tears as the car not only looked terrible with the headliner down, no weather stripping around the rear window, paint and tape lines showing and bent metal left unfixed. She had to endure a service manager giving her nothing but excuses and saying everything was fine. ( Total bullshit artist)!!!!. After an argument on the phone and taking the car back for a couple more days to fix all the many issues they screwed up on we were told to come pick the car up at 3:00pm. We had to wait for two and a half hours in the 100 degree parking lot as the car was again not only not finished but look terrible once again. I'm a first year student at the university and had an incident in the parking garage on campus. Long story short my right rear door got pushed open a little too far and it would not stay shut. I'm from Indianapolis so I'm not entirely familiar with the area. This place was the first thing that came up when I searched for body shops. When I went in for my estimate appointment, they were very polite and everything. Tabitha was the one who looked at my car and took it in the shop for the crew to look at it. 45 mins later after waiting they managed to fix it and did not charge me for a minor fix like that. I forgot his name but the guy who worked on it liked my car and chose to do it for free because he's never seen a car like mine in really good condition (apart from the door). Hopefully I don't have another accident but in the event, I will be coming back here. I obviously know and everyone else should know not everything is free, but this act of kindness shows the value they put into their work. read more

Let me start by saying that my situation was odd. My friend wrecked my 2013 Toyota Tundra. I know quite a bit about mechanics and am knowledgeable about body work. So, I had started to personally make repairs only to find out there was more damage than what I wanted to financially deal with. Due to this situation, me and M & S Collision's estimator started off rough because I had ordered parts and needed to do certain repairs myself. For some reason, the M & S Collision estimator was not aware of such practices, but after the estimator and my insurance agency got on the same page things were worked out between the estimator and myself. So, here is the reason M & S Collision received 1 Star... 1. I felt like my time was wasted. I called M & S Collision and made an appointment to have them look at my truck. I kept the appointment, pictures were taken, we went over the truck, and I was told to bring my truck back in a week. No estimate, no nothing! I took my truck to two other collision repair shops and received estimates within 30 minutes. I ended up dropping my truck off the following week and did not receive an estimate until after it was dropped off for the second time. In essence, I did not even need the appointment and it was a waste of time. 2. I was told the repair would take 2 weeks when the repair took 3.5 weeks. I believe this was due to M & S not wanting to diagnose my axle at the inspection even though visibly it could be seen as bent. 3. I was called to pick up the truck, but the truck was not completed. 4. The repair specialists missed multiple items that I had to pick out. They forgot to put on the rear passenger mud flap. When asked where the mud flap was I was told it was put in my back seat. I am not quite sure why they did this, but the estimator said it would be installed. 5. The leaf spring clamps were not repaired. This was on the estimate, but it was totally overlooked. 6. A protector plate or rock guard was not installed. Again, this was installed quickly, but was overlooked. 7. I get home and my wife lets me know my brake light was not working. I thought my bulb had blown out. After some troubleshooting I figured out none of the lights on the passenger side taillight were working. I looked underneath the truck and I found the taillight was not even plugged into the wire harness. This was a dangerous mistake that could have cost another accident. Again, were any of these things a huge deal? Not really, but there were a lot of mistakes. M & S Collision was only responsible for replacing and painting a rear quarter panel and replacing the driver's side rear axle. This was not a big repair! I did not hassle them about the extra repair time, but these mistakes wasted my time and it led me to question the professionalism and ability of M & S Collision! To put it simply I would not recommend M & S Collision and will personally not use them again. read more

I'm updating my previous review because I just had additional great service on yet another vehicle worked on by them today. So I got a large dent on the passenger side of my new Ford Explorer made by someone opening their car door into mine. I immediately thought of taking it to M&S because they did great repair work on my older van. Not only did I feel like I was quoted fairly for the minor repair and easily scheduled, but I was also thanked for being a repeat customer! That rarely happens anywhere I give repeat service to. I'm very loyal and do go back to all the places that have given me good service. I love to support local businesses and I will spread the word about M&S. I had a fender bender with my 2009 Honda Accord and used M&S Collision for my repairs. I made it clear from the beginning that I wanted to keep the costs down, as I didn't have collision insurance. I asked if they accepted credit cards, they said they did, and I decided to have my work done by them. They initially quoted me around 2400 for repairs but on further inspection they found an additional 800 in work that needed to be done. I think their estimate was fair and reasonable so I told them to go ahead. The repairs were done within their agreed upon time frame and up until this point I was happy with the service I received, however once my car was repaired, and I could no longer choose a different body shop, things got worse. Once the repairs were done they called and told me that I would need to bring a cashiers check or money order and I couldn't use my credit card. I told them I had asked specifically if I could use a credit card before I brought my car in and now, after all my repairs were done, they told me that they had a $500 limit on credit cards. I spoke with the Manager and his attitude can only be described as defensive and rude. He blamed me for not knowing about their policy, claimed I was trying to "stick them with the interest charges" and flat out lied by saying their receptionists tell everyone about the limit, which they certainly did not. He did everything but accept responsibility for their failure to inform me about the policy and didn't care at all about customer satisfaction. I was forced to take out a small loan in order to get my car back from them. Never once did they apologize for the situation, instead they chose to blame me at every opportunity. I give them 4/5 stars for the repairs but their customer service was deceptive and rude, 1/5 stars. I will never use them again and I wont recommend them to anyone else either. Wouldnt give body estimate without tow to shop since I was self pay. Would not come to residence for estimate for a Mini Cooper and was told I'd have to bring the car in or have it towed in for estimate ! Would not go to sandburgs tow yard to give me an estimate either. In other words, if it's not paid via insurance, they don't want the business. VERY SHADY ! read more
