Terrible experience at the Marina del Rey location on 3/10/23. Walked in and 3 employees were giggling at the register in the back of the store. No other customers were in the store but me. One of the employees took me to a dressing room and said let me know if you need anything. I did need assistance but never saw her again. Once I was finished trying on about 12 items I came out and asked the 3 employees, who were still giggling at the desk, if they were ever going to check on me. One of them was on her phone and the others just stared at me. Very disappointing experience, obviously poor training or lack of interest in their job. I ordered a sweater to be sent from another store and they had me fill out a form where I had to write down my credit card info. This made me uncomfortable, it's a terrible antiquated system. I have been shopping at MFredrick for years and like this store. The staff is friendly and always accommodating. As I was shopping for my granddaughter today at MFredrick in Marina Del Rey, I was extremely disappointed coming across a shirt, as well as a hat with the work Fu_k plastered with larger than life bold letters on the items. Mind you, this was merchandise for sale. Is this what we have to look at especially when children and young teens enter the store? Sure everyone know the gutter talk but to actually condone this vulgar language is beyond me. I won't shop here ever again. The fact that the buyer would actually sell hats and shirts promoting disgusting language goes to show there taste is in the gutter. Sad and offensive to say the least. read more

My shopping experience with this particular location was good and that encouraged me to ask about their sales position that they had posted. The managers body language was awkward. You would of thought that I was speaking in a language that was foreign to the ear. I'm a semi retired woman who has a great eye for fashion and beauty and I enjoy the retail experience and I have many years as a stylist and made sales that kept my clients coming back. I applied for the position regardless of how uncomfortable I might have made that person feel because it didn't matter to me about her opinion. My application came back and I was not hired. Let me add that I'm a very fun loving woman and I look amazing for my age. Ageism is alive and I believe that I was not hired because of my age and I say that for reasons that the position is once again open. Terrible experience at the "new" Marina del Rey location on 7/5/24. I inquired about an exchange for a dress I purchased. The dress was never worn and still had the original tags attached. The employee explained the return/exchange policy. Due to the time exceeding the return/exchange timeline, I was not able to make the transaction. Now let me clarify that I wasn't requesting a FULL refund just an exchange for a desired dress from the store. First, let me say that I fully support small-local businesses. I frequent my shopping here often because I receive great customer service. However, after 7/5/24 I can't say the same. After reaching out to the store manager (Samira), I was told that I can follow up with the issue the next business day. The next day I called, and left a message. I received a follow-up call on Tuesday, 7/9/24. Unfortunately, it was not from Samira but from another support staff member, Crystal. I was disappointed that my exchange was yet declined again. Needless to say, this was a very disappointing experience. Now I will have to take my money elsewhere. read more

I've walked by this store half a dozen times and never went in. On this particular day, I was trying to kill time (waiting for Pinkberry to open) and saw they were having a sale. I ended up buying a shirt for ten bucks and a dress for $13. The rest of the clothes are quite pricey, but the sale items were literally a steal! I've worn the dress twice and have gotten innumerable compliments on it. And it was under fifteen bucks!!! Moreover, they give you a percentage of your expenditure as a discount coupon for a return visit the following month. Love it! :D read more

I recently visited the Marina store confident I could find an outfit for an upcoming event. After having spent 10 minutes in the store looking through the racks, no greeting, no assistance, I noticed two clerks working whom appeared to be more engaged in discussion with each other, and one intermittently assisting another customer. If you've ever shopped at the store they have great pieces, pricey, but certainly worthy of assistance. After approaching the counter, and standing there for a minute or two still not acknowledged, I finally asked for a business card and questioned who the store manager was to be told that this particular store does not have a store manager at the moment. Still being unacknowledged, or even asked why I was concerned and wanted to speak with one, I further questioned who was in charge and requested a name. It is unfortunate that in today's time customer service has completely gone by the wayside or maybe profiling still exists. Typically when I go into this store, not only do I find great pieces, the service is actually good. In this instance on this day in particular, the service was horrible or should I say there was a lack there of. Therefore I left irritated that I did not accomplish what I set out to accomplish Very disappointed. read more

used to love shopping here. actually, it was one of my favorite stores back when they had the really cool "junk food" t-shirt brand. but it's hard to justify shopping here now. i don't understand the styles anymore, esp all the *bling* and stitching on the jeans. honestly, guys don't dress like this. it's too guido now. what happened to the rough styles? for me personally, i think the present clothes' designs are so-so.... nothing special, and more importantly the QUALITY is sub-standard. case in point, if i'm going to pay $100 for a pair of designer jeans i expect them to last at least a year or two.... let's say you buy a pair of jeans from the GAP. ok, granted they're not Haute Couture but those jeans will last for 10 years before they start to fall apart. i bought a pair of jeans at M.Fredric & Co and the button-fly buttons started to fall off 6-8 months into wearing them. since i had only worn and washed them a couple of times since purchase, i'm thinking that this was a defective pair. which sometimes happens when jeans are washed in harsh chemicals to give them a "distressed" look. since the jeans were STILL selling in the store and they STILL had my size, i brought them back to see if i could exchange the defective pair for the EXACT SAME THING and the manager... "le Courtney" said "No". Upon my query as to whyyyyyyy, she said "Well honestly, I mean I hear what you're sayin, but I don't know how you treat your jeans so for all I know you could've been really rough on them..." OK! wow......guess i must've really went-to-town on that button fly... opening and closing it, opening and closing 1,000 times a day to get it to break like that. shame on me. in short: they wouldn't damage out the defective pair for another pair. you bet your ass they wouldn't refund. nor would they fix the defective button fly upon my suggestion. they also kept the jeans in question for 3 weeks while Courtney discussed my "case" with M Fredric Corporate office. HA! Pss-shaw Courtney, you wish your jeans were as good as The GAP. so to recap: the styles are BLASE unless you're a die-hard UFC fan or cast member of "Jersey Shore" and need the complete line of "AFFLICTION" t-shirts...way too guido. Quality sucks... This store is good for one thing and one thing only: killing time. I can spend 15 minutes browsing and be done. They sell some cute things but it's hard to find them when they're doused in rows of t-shirts with tacky, ed hardy-like designs. I've been to this store quite a bit and not once has the customer service been exceptional. They're so rude by never offering help or even acknowledging my existence. I guess they don't realize that even if I'm shopping in my yoga pants there's a wad of cash in my gucci wallet that I'd be willing to spend but don't because I don't want to support haters. Though I love the clothes and one employee that was actually helpful the last few weeks I went to buy a dress there, today was different. I literally walked in and the only customer that was in there mind you, 2 employees looked at me walk in and didn't acknowledge me and went about their laughter, swiping their iphones, I stayed for a good 15 minutes looking and picking up some clothes and made a little "ahem" noises and not once they said "hi" or "may I help you look for something?" or "I'm sorry, i didn't see you there, may I help you?" I wished I knew their names but their shifts were around between 2:45- 4:00pm today May17th, 2013 Friday. You just lost a customer....or maybe I after I blast you on Twitter or Yelp or Facebook, your bosses should think about putting you through "customer service classes"....You ladies don't belong to a fine establishment like Marina Del Rey, and you are ruining the M.Fredric brand. Awesome---another bad review from me. It is 12:27pm June 16, 2016 Thursday afternoon. I walked in...2 sales associate just kept gossiping and just looked at me, I looked at them, they just looked at me without any hellos or "how can I help you" ---now an older Caucasian comes in and they stopped talking and said "how can I help you ma'am" ---and this coming from another minority that totally just treated me the way they would have been treated back in the days. An African American woman and a Latina woman both ignored and shined on a brown woman. Pretty sad. This too will go out of business soon if this keeps happening ( HENCE, the ratings of 2 stars) (Hey management, you need to listen up) Imagine, I have given this store plenty of business in the past when they had an awesome sales person that I haven't really Seen in awhile. Regrets are always at the end. There's a need to redress the balance here. I think, like myself, that few people leave a positive review when all they've ever known is fantastic service and a GREAT store! We assume everyone knows this. So I was shocked to read so much negativity here (when I was checking my favorite store's Sunday closing time!) I'm a long-time resident of Marina del Rey and M.Fredric has been my go-to store here forever! The staff have ALWAYS been helpful and welcoming...I have known Miriam for years...and now there's a second equally special Miriam to help me out. Sho(w) (apologies, not sure how to spell your name) has even left me a voicemail when new stock has come in that he thinks will especially appeal to me. He's never wrong! That kind of personal service is so rare these days - and is so appreciated, that, of course, I'm always going to be stopping by to check out what's new! The selection of clothing in this store is always different and interesting - I also think it's very reasonably priced and great quality. Careful - this is not Nordstrom when it comes To customer service. The sales associate has no shame when it comes to passive aggressively embarrassing you. I just tried to correct a purchase and not only did she judge my choice to return the item, she proceeded to push a policy sign in my face . She had no room for compromise and I had to call corporate myself to correct the situation. Well this place wins for keeping my money and I am stuck with a store credit. I have been in the women's store with my girlfriend and have shopped for clothes for myself in the mens store ... I am sick of expensive stores that are happy to take your money and kind of turning their nose up at you .... i mean they work on commission but seem to think sometimes they are too good to help you out .... this is not the case here ... these guys are super friendly, really helpful, cheerful and gave my girlfriend and i the best service i have ever had in a clothes store .... It's not really fair to compare the customer service at M. Fredric to that of Nordstrom or Bloomingdale's. With the exception of 1-2 employees who seem to be new to the world of retail and perhaps still a little awkward when it comes to interacting with customers, I've found the staff on the whole to warm, helpful, and accommodating whenever I've shopped at this location. However, I did not have the same pleasant experience at their old location in the Marina Marketplace, which was just on the other side of the parking lot. At that location, I was either completely ignored or pressured into spending more money. I'm assuming that the staff has since changed because the vibe here is much different - in a good way. I haven't experienced rudeness or aggressive sales tactics at this new location. I'm also not a high maintenance customer, but there's nothing that turns me off me more than pushy or rude salespeople, so my radar is always tuned into that kind of behavior. I was a little bummed out when I read some of the negative reviews because my experience in coming here has always been a positive one. I'm not trying to invalidate what other people have said...I'm just offering another perspective. Give it another shot like I did and you might be pleasantly surprised :) read more

Rudest sales girl ever. Huge attitude , and when I went to purchase my item she condescendingly said they don't accept cash bc she doesn't have cash in her drawer . After she followed me around the store letting me know they were closing soon. Closing time is 7pm , it was 6:15. She then started talking to me like I was an idiot when I said," ok well it would be nice if you let customers know." Her attitude is such a bad representation of this company and I will never come back here for that reason. I have shopped here a lot over the last year and although it's full of mostly over priced stuff, I have found a few hidden gems. I bought a t-shirt there a couple of months ago - well actually two of the same style, just different colors. They have a kind of faded look to them. After just two washes the red color T faded in a patch right in the front centre looking like I have spilt something down myself ( it was actually a friend that pointed it out over brunch so a little embarrassing). So I can no longer wear it. I tried to return it, but no luck. The assistant told me it was the nature of the garment and that it did in fact come with a tiny print label (the kind that nobody reads) that explained there would be fading over time. Fading over time I could live with, but when the fading is just one patch right in the centre middle of the front of it, it just screams of "this is cheaply made and this tiny label you won't read is our way of doing nothing about it now we've taken your money' I have a degree in Textiles and have spent many years dying yarns and weaving fabrics, and I can without a doubt scream BULLSHIT at this. I explained I now have a t-shirt I can't wear, and it was received with shoulder shrugging and repetition about their tiny labels. I asked the assistant if she would kindly place the garment in the trash for me and she suggested I donate it!! I'm still laughing at this thankfully. It's safe to say that if you want cheap throw away items, you are better off getting them for half the price in somewhere like H&M or Forever 21. read more

I have to say, I have been here a few times to shop and I love their clothes. The first time I was there, I was definitely got the cold shoulder - I don't know what their problem is at this store but the workers there are so full of themselves. There has only been one worker who has been nice to me, the short haired brunette. Other than that, the workers are horrible. I get it, the store is in the Marina, wealthy etc. yea. I live in Playa Vista in a million dollar home and can afford to buy their stuff but what do they do? Kiss the a** of the blonde haired wannabe rich cougars - please M. Fredric - don't you know how to run a business? It does not take brains to figure out how to treat your customers. I would rather drive in traffic an extra 30-40 minutes to The Grove to the M Fredric store there, where the workers actually deserve my time.. And yes, they're wonderful, kind, and helpful.
