So thorough in the process of testing and what is so so appreciated is the immediate feedback and recommendations.

I had been considering hearing aids for about 4 years. My hearing isn't real bad but I have trouble hearing words on the TV and people in real life with soft voices. I can hear most men just fine. I was very concerned aboit people being able to see them and think less of me. Do I delayed and delayed. Dr Bette court referred me to Dr MK Larson. Dr Larson fitted me with inner ear hearing aids that no one can see unless they were looking for them in my ears. I haven't ever seen anyone notice I'm wearing them. They are tiny. There is no phone app as they are too small for that. But they work great. However all sounds are amplified including background. When there is a lot of background noise I cannot search out a spoken voice and I still have trouble hearing. Because it's all too much noise. However in most normal situations they are great shave live my hearing aids. They are very comfortable as they take a mold of your inner ear and customer make them. They are expensive. I'm a very satisfied customer and no longer stressing about having to wear them. I take them out when sleeping or near water like bathing or swimming. read more

Seems that MK Larson had a staffing glitch on my previous review. Once they followed up, I was scheduled for a full audiology evaluation. The technician was very pleasant and thorough. Then Dr Larson went through the test results and was equally thorough in explaining the status of my hearing. No need for hearing aids right now. Excellent work! read more

Aside from them not accepting Anthem, I do recommend them. I had sudden hearing loss in one ear and had to come here for a hearing test. Ashley (I think that was her name - she was one of the audiologists) couldn't have been kinder during my sometimes challenging tests and her compassionate nature was very much appreciated. When I went back to the ENT they hadn't received the results which was also a bummer since my appointment was to go over the test results, so I'm not sure what happened there but I'm knocking off a half star for that and a half star because they don't take Anthem which is one of the largest carriers in the area. I understand why but it is a pain nonetheless to have to pay out of pocket and file a claim to get partially reimbursed. Ashley (sorry if I got the name wrong) gets five stars, though. read more

Excellent service. Was an out of state drop in customer. Hearing aid was broken, part of it was still deep in my ear canal. They took me in immediately, cleared my ear, fixed the Hearing aid, only charged me for the repair. If i lived here they would be my audiologist. The testing was excellent, so much better than what I had in my previous test. The audio test was much more in depth. The audiology assistant who administered the test was so adept in administering the test, in giving explanations about the procedures and in treating me in an extremely compassionate, kind and attentive manner. I do have to say that if you are sound sensitive as I am, (vestibular migraine disorder), be prepared that the sound testing itself may trigger a migraine and/or vertigo and other symptoms. The end range of beeps was painful for me, but I hung in there. It has taken me about two weeks to recover. Dr. Larson reviewed the test and met with me afterwards. She is very knowledgeable in her field, and was attentive and personable. If I saw her again, I would be more prepared with dates of duration of my original episode (more than 1 and 1/2 years), and all the things including drastic dietary changes I made to bring my symptoms under control. Highly recommend M K Larson audiology. I definitely would trust Dr. Larson's advice and choice regarding hearing aids. read more

I was referred to Dr. Larson from an audiologist I went to in Paso Robles where I received hearing aides but I lost one and they told me that my insurance would not replace it because it had been over a year since I had them. I always read Yelp reviews before I patronize a business or a service. Dr. Larson has outstanding reviews. What an amazing experience! The receptionist was very friendly and cordial. The hearing test was the most thorough I have ever had and the young lady who administered the test did it very professionally and it was very thorough using high tech equipment. When the tests were completed, Dr. Larson clearly explained the results. She referred me to a hearing aid provider in Morro Bay and the cost will be covered by my insurance. I could nor believe how well the practice operates and highly recommend Dr. Larson and her staff. I wish I could post the images of the test results to show how thorough they were. read more

My mother in her late 70's was convinced she didn't need hearing aides. She resisted the notion actively for more than a year. However, a SLO ENT recommended MK Larson Audiology and my mother was simply charmed. Dr. Larson spent a couple of hours and even let my mom take home a pair of hearing aides to try. In short Dr. Larson is a genius. If she can sell my mom on hearing aides, she can convince ANYONE. My mom now has wonderful hearing aides, and I no longer dread talking with her on the phone. I was looking forward to treatment at this facility. I had waited nearly 3 months for an appointment and purposely took the earliest appointment to avoid potential COVID exposure as my wife and myself at at-risk of death. When I arrived the front office staff did not have a mask on at all and when I inquired about this they said, "it is not time yet." I immediately left and requested cancellation of my appointment. As a medical professional myself I am appalled at the lack of professionalism presented here. Nearly two years has there been a mandate in our state and county for ALL medical staff. If staff does not think it is adequate to wear your mask during working hours how am I supposed to trust your doctor with my health? read more

No parent wants to find out their child has hearing loss. Dr. Larsen delivered the news of my daughters hearing loss with kindness, patience and sensitivity. She is knowledgeable, and offers options and explanations rather than dictating treatment. She is fantastic with my daughter, who absolutely adores her. This practice would have a 5 star review but I'll explain why I've deducted 2- The blonde older lady with glasses. I don't know what her name or position is in the office but she was extremely rude. So I got my appointment time mixed up and showed up at 1230 thinking my daughters appointment was at 1:00. The blonde lady said "you're appointment isn't until 1:30... come back so your daughter doesn't become impatient waiting in here (her vibe was extremely rude and disrespectful) she pretty much looked at my toddler as if she didn't want to bother with us. She also told me they will need my health insurance card... okay fine here it is, I'd like to get it out of the way. She responded with "oh just do it when the receptionist comes back from lunch" I asked her "oh you're not the receptionist?" She completely ignored me! So I left. Let me also mention the fact that this happened in front of 2 people in the waiting room- very unprofessional. Well I don't live in SLO so guess what- we sat in the car with the AC on because it's hot outside for about an hour idling in a city that outlawed drive thru's because of emissions (just thought that was a funny add). When we finally return the actual receptionist was back. I don't know her name either but it's the Latina lady... she was so nice and sweet. My daughters appointment was at 1:30 but we didn't get seen until about 2:30 (yes, an hour wait) due to an emergency patient is what I was told but it actually didn't bother us that much because the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming.... She sparked up conversation with me as well as my toddler the whole time we waited. She even gave my 3 year old some markers and paper to color with to keep her busy as well as treated us with actual dignity and respect UNLIKE that old blonde lady who basically kicked me and my 3 year old out of the office for showing up too early. I'm leaving this comment in hopes the Dr will know how some of her staff is handling patients. It's the Doctors own practice (and she seems like a young intelligent women who has a long profession ahead of her) and if it was mine I'd sure want to know because I most definitely would not want my staff representing my medical practice in that way at all!!!! read more

I was recently evaluated by Dr. Larson and was very pleased with her and her facility. She has very much advanced equipment and software compared to my last hearing tests with the Air Force some 10 years ago. Today I had the pleasure to work with Dr. Larson on my hearing aids and hearing loss. Megan Larson took the time to understand my hearing history and work with me to find the right solution for me. I have a set of hearing aids that I purchased years ago, used for while, then put them in my drawer. My wife and son told me that I was missing too much by not using them. I found the hearing aids, but when I put them into my ears, they did not seem to provide any real benefit. Dr. Larson put me through a battery of hearing tests. Once she had the baseline of my hearing without the hearing aids she then tuned my existing hearing aids. What a difference! In the second set of hearing tests my results were amazingly better. Rather than just trying to sell me a new set of expensive hearing aids, she took the time to adust the old ones I had. If I decide I need a new set of hearing aids, I will be going back to Megan Larson to get fitted. Thank you Dr. Larson for your service. read more

I'm too young to need hearing aids. That's what I told myself for a year after finding out it was time. My wife noticed I seemed disinterested in social interactions and wondered if it was because I was having difficulty following conversations... It was time. I saw an add announcing that Dr Larson was opening an office in my neighborhood off of California in San Luis Obispo. I decided it was a sign. While I knew my hearing wasn't all it used to be, Dr Larson took the time to explain things way beyond what my previous Dr had done. Her office is spotless and the equipment is all new and state of the art. This added to my confidence that she is the right person. Once I conceded to needing help, she offered many options and I was able to try out several of them for a week at a time. The overall technology and Bluetooth capabilities were unexpected - hearing aids have come a long way. Conversations and music became more enjoyable. My advice: Don't wait too long before seeing Dr Larson. read more
