Anniversary dinner choice was somewhere quiet and with good selections. Mogger's doesn't disappoint. Our server, Darren (as per name on receipt) has been helpful several times. I was so glad to see him be our server. He is genuinely nice and might be one of the more efficient servers I've ever seen. He quickly connects with his customers. I opted for their Mogger Salad but substitute the crumble cheese for shredded. I'm not a fan of blue cheese crumbles. Wife had chicken on rice with some very good mushroom sauce. Pretzel bites and beer cheese for appetizer and bread pudding shared for dessert. My wife discovered their beer cheese is excellent on baked potatoes. We joked with server that they need to have tat as a side option. He said he'd "promote" and also have a talk with manager/chef (Dalton?) We left very fulfilled!! Here we were driving into Indiana on a road trip, a state in which the pork tenderloin sandwich is legendary. I'd heard that M. Moggers makes one of the best versions of this dish. So we stopped by just to try it. It's truly a classic Midwestern pub in the heart of Terre Haute, and they do carryout orders as well. And although the pork itself was a little tough, the batter was so exceptional and the dish so delicious that I'd highly recommend the place! My rating suffered slightly because the onion straws are served cold. That's an odd way to serve fried onions. And while their flavor was stupendous - highly recommended by the server - the bizarre temperature was a real letdown. read more

These, almost 200 year old buildings have so much charm. They take up the whole block. You can tour the bootlegging tunnel beneath the main building. Our bartender, Mitchell (who seemed like he really loved his job), was super friendly, attentive and gave us info on the bar's beginnings as a brewery. We started with the fried mushrooms and house made horseradish sauce... Delicious. Ordered the ribeye and it was cooked as ordered and seasoned perfectly. Mogger's is a Terre Haute institution with a lot of history. History that lives downstairs in the displays, and in the floorboards, watch your step! Offer your guests the beer/cocktail menu right away - since this place specializes in craft beer flights of six, and craft beer, you've gotta give the people the menu! LOVED my flight and built many local IN beers. The waitress for the table behind us completely misspoke to the guests (who also were not offered a beer menu) that a local cherry sour beer was "I think it's a dark beer". Waitstaff should know their beer menu. And give your guests the menu! I got the Italian Beef sandwich that was like a French Dip and my son got the highly recommended chicken specialty and devoured it. Stopped in at M Mogger's and went with the plain tenderloin and fried mushrooms. The tenderloin was thick and juicy which is normally the opposite of how I like them, however, it was exceptionally tasty. The mushrooms were crispy while also being juicy. Wonderful tasting meal. Since I was visiting a new city, I scoped out a venue with interesting interior décor. This place did not disappoint! It was quiet when we were visiting but I imagine the vibe is elevated during peak hours. Every room has something interesting to see. Our family of 5 women really enjoyed our meals and experience. Moggers was chosen by our GodSons Moms as the place for a few (6) of us to celebrate his birthday. Lets start with good. We were sat at a round table in the corner. We had lots of room and no one was sat right beside us. Our servers were very peronable and did an excellent job. They had a limited menu today because of local area graduations. Ours orders included spinach and artichoke dip, spicy cheese curds, tenderloin and frys, chicken fingers and frys and pizza. The spinach and artichoke dip was really good and chunky. The spicy cheese curds were SPICY! I like spicy but they were too much for me. So be warned. Pizza was good not great. I liked the thin cracker crust. Toppings were a good amount. Could have used a slightly longer bake. Tenderloin was delicious as well as the frys. The not so good. No staff I saw were wearing masks. Most of the customers walking in didn't have on masks. I found the bathroom to be a bit gross. Just install nice white porcelain why beer kegs. I know a lot of people just went on and on about the building in their review but, to me, it's just old and although may be clean the age of the building came across as dirty. We live out of state but come to visit family every 3-6 months. This restaurant is a favorite for us every time we come! I have not had anything that was not delicious. I had the Townhouse Chcken, which consisted of 2 grilled (burned) and dry chicken breasts with some "cheese" that contained 2 mushroom pieces and zero flavor. Nice place with great ambiance and friendly service. However, their kitchen can't make a Ruben worth a hoot. I ordered one tonight and it was very, very light on the corn beef. I expected better for an $18 sandwich. I'm sick of the shrinkflation. A Ruben should have more than 3 slices of corn beef on it. I mentioned it to the bartender when he asked me how the food was, Being busy and just going through the motions I don't think he even heard my answer, or if he did, he didn't take it seriously. Being hungry I finish the sandwich, mentioned it again later and asked for a discount. He checked with the manager and the response was, well if you mentioned it earlier we could have done something. . Sort by "most reviewed" Have conversation with wife that goes like this: I would rather eat at a place that has 384 3.5/4 out of 5 star reviews than a place that has 11 five star reviews. We agree. Angels rejoice. Find M Moggers. Easy to find and easy to park. Wonderful old building or is it a barn? Doesn't matter it's freaking cool. Lots and lots of beer to choose from and a great menu. Would have gotten a couple of micro crafts but no CO2 in the keg system that day so no draft beers (The East German Judges would have given 1 star for this - but we're 'mericans and shit happens - so no deduction). Great selection of bottled and cans so no worries. Had the pulled pork sandwich and my travelling companion (who is not 9 years old) had the rueben (autocorrect always says I spell that wrong. It wants a capital "R" - wtf) - both were delicious. And the service was fast. Good slaw and good fries, too. The biggest problem we had was trying to figure out how to make it back at the right time the next time we pass through Terre Haute so we can eat and drink here again. Sooooo, this is a tough one for me. I really, really wanted to like the food, but honestly, other than the French fries & the sweet potato fries, I wasn't impressed. The staff was great - friendly, personable, chatty, attentive, thorough, etc. The place itself was very cute, would have loved to explore but had sunglasses on so I really couldn't see too well! We sat outside as it was a lovely day and that was super nice! Loved the trains going by!! The better half and I ordered the honey Sriracha chicken wings as an appetizer. The flavor was good, they were good size, bigger wings than most places we've been, however because of that, some of them weren't cooked through. That's always a turn off. The better half ordered the bacon jalepeno burger which looked good but I didn't try it so I can't speak to it, but his fries were excellent (he gave the burger a 3/5). I ordered the Poplar Street Chicken (it was between that and the Italian beef), chicken breast with green peppers, onions and Swiss cheese. It was good but it really could have used some seasoning. It came with honey mustard and I believe bbq sauce. I upgraded the side and ordered the sweet potato fries which were excellent, but not enough fries for an upcharge. I dipped both the chicken and fries into the honey mustard which helped. I would give the food itself 3 stars as what we had was just nothing to rave about, but because of the staff, and the ambiance, I gave our entire experience 4 stars. One star off for the raw and just blah tasting chicken. My guess is it would be a great place to go to throw back a few! read more

We used to be regulars here and the food quality and selection has gone down while prices continue to rise. Their (idk how big it is maybe 10") pizzas are $18... I ordered pepperoni only as opposed to the pizzas listed on the menu with multiple toppings and they charged me a $1 extra for less toppings. $19. For mediocre restaurant pizza. Yikes. Then the service charge for using a credit card. I am sure I'll be back at some point but I hope it won't be anytime soon. Ideal place for lunch! The Italian Beef sandwich with au jus was recommended by our waitress and I was very impressed with it's meaty yet tender texture and sweet zest. With it I had the breaded mushrooms, which came in a huge portion and, in words, I CAN'T DO THESE MUSHROOMS JUSTICE! Paired with horseradish, they were among the best I've ever had! After a funeral in Oaktown, for my great great grandmother, we stopped here to have kind of an impromptu wake with 15 family members for lunch. They were more than accommodating had a table set up in a private room, and the food and service were amazing. We had people of all ages and the children as well as the adults were able to find some thing on the menu that they liked not to mention it was very reasonable, even including the alcoholic beverages we ordered. I think my favorite was the fried mushrooms with the dip that they make, it was so good! The whole atmosphere is really cool smells old in a good way and has beautiful interior woodworking accents and you can really tell how long this place has been around by the way, they've preserved it so well, and made it part of its unique charm. read more
