I called M Racing and got an estimate for some work. Talked with David and he was helpful. I decided to clean my chain and install a new battery myself, went into M Racing and David was very knowledgeable and helpful, I bought a battery, some supplies and David took the time to talk and make suggestions. Last item on the list was an oil change and I opted to have M Racing do that. David did the oil change, took it out for a test drive and was very helpful with suggestions. He spotted a plastic cap on the cooling reservoir tank that needed replacement and we ordered the inexpensive part. I had an issue with the throttle on my bike. It would work fine going through the gears but cruising, there was a slight pause before response in accelerating. For some reason the oil change resolved the issue. The throttle became more sensitive so slight speed changes. It was probably the engine working better with the synthetic oil. Shifting improved immensely, became much smoother and the Triumph feels like is has an automatic transmission. My bike felt like a new bike when driving home with the short term maintenance done. Been coming here for a few years now for minor work but this time had my carbs rebuilt, oil, differential, and brake fluid service they did a phenomenal job at a fair price, runs like new very happy with the work. After trying a handful of smaller shops with availability and a shade tree chopper mechanic ,getting royaly screwed each time...each time I went deeper in debt with nothing gained on my harley but a couple new things needing to be fixed.. I finally called David at M Racing....got on the waiting list and it was a wait..it seemed like the day was never going to come.. I gave David my budget , tossed him my keys and left it to him.. This is about 5 years ago, so things could have changed.. I had a 2007 R6 worked on here. Years ago, they forgot to tighten my shifter which came off on the freeway. They also took the liberty of putting an M Racing sticker on my bike without asking me first. Yes they fixed it no extra charge but, it happened. The owner did come with a trailer to bring the bike back to his shop, so that is a ++. To be clear, most of my concerns can root back to a particular employee they had/have. Dont know if he still works there anymore, but the owner is great. Sorry i don't remember his name. I recall saying "wow that's kinda expensive" to something, and the employee snarked, "Who said owning a bike was cheap". Uh.. how bout just explaining or showing a comparison or something meaningful. The owner has lots of great knowledge and a racing background, but kinda snoody. It was actually one of his employees that goofed on my bike. I remember he was talking on the cell phone while turning the wrench. I also have a newer 2017 R6 which i will not take there for above reason, that,.. and it was recently stolen! lol read more

I went to M racing about two months ago to purchase a battery after going to another battery store a few blocks away first. The battery was for an old motorcycle. They didn't have the one I needed in stock but I expected that because it wasn't a common battery. They got the battery in the next day and filled it with acid and charged it up. What impressed me the most was that the guy recommended the cheaper priced battery when he could of sold the more expensive one to me. I haven't had a lot of experience with this place yet but the experience I had was exceptional! I will definitely return in the future! read more

These group of guys are knowledgeable and take pride in their work. Their rates are comparable to other shops in the area, but the quality of work is night and day difference. I can trust my life with what they do to my motorcycle. If you don't know much about motorcycles, be prepared to learn. Once you humble yourself and open your ears, they can teach you the basics to understand exactly what you need. Just because they're called "M Racing" doesn't mean they only work on sportbikes. They can do pretty much anything. Dave is the guy to talk to. I appreciate the time he spends to make sure I'm not being an idiot. Eddie can be cool, but he gave me a one hour rant about tires that ended up being mostly BS. (Confirmed by a call to the tire manufacturer and their distributor) He got a hot head about it, but Dave is cool. I'm lucky to have these guys in my 'hood! read more

Highly recommend these guys!!! I got a full Akrapovic exhaust (track use only) installed by their technician. David is a very knowledgable guy and goes out of his way to explain things to you. Ive had my previous bikes serviced at other dealers and without a doubt, these guys know what they're doing. Not to take anything away from places like Berts, but when you're dealing with a smaller shop (racing team), you get that extra attention. They even threw my S1000rr on the dyno b4 and after installation to show how much power i made or lost. They quoted me 3 hrs labor at their shop rate $95. The tech took his time with my bike and the install turned out great. I had to pick up the orig exhaust on a different day and when i came to get it, they already had the exhaust cleaned!!! I used to take my bikes here but I noticed a consistent trend. When I would call for an estimate, I would get a very low price quoted over the phone by one of the owners (David) compared to other competing mechanics in the area. This would always entice me to bring my bike in here. However, after the service, when I would go to pick up my bike and pay after David pulled me in with the low, over-the-phone price quote, the price was nearly always double when it was time to pull out the credit card after the work was done. And when I would ask David why it was so expensive compared to the price quoted over the phone, David's answer I felt was always deceitful and diminishing like I never quoted that price or I just quoted part of the job or you ended up needing something more or I would never charge that low. It felt too shady for me to many times. I became tired of this routine. The final cost was never the over the phone quoted price. Another time I took one of my bikes in and told them that my battery needed to be changed as my bike would not start at times so I would have to push start it. David called me three days later and said they could not diagnose why my bike would not start, and that the problem was "not" the battery and they therefore they did not fix anything on the bike. However David still charged me $190 (2 hours at $95/hour) for their "assessment." And it was so obvious the bike needed a new battery which is why I told them to swap it out. I sincerely doubt they spent two hours testing my battery or "assessing it" why it would not start at times. So the day picked up m bike and paid David $190 for fixing nothing, I bought a battery for $60 on my way home and fixed that bike on my own. It was a quick and easy fix and to this day I am still mad at myself I just didn't fix it myself that David and M Racing scammed me out of $190. I prefer mechanics who have the policy if they can't find and fix the problem, you don't pay them. David and M Racing does not have that policy. Their policy is: "If we can't find the problem with your bike, you will still pay us at $95/hour!" Another time, I was paying for the service on one of my bikes after they serviced it and an M-Racing mechanic came around from the back to the front counter and asked if he could speak with me and show me something on my bike. So I said ok and we walked outside and what he was showing me took about 20-30 minutes and I was in a hurry and would have preferred to not have the explanation but regardless I let him say what he wanted to say to be polite as he was a cool guy. Then when I went back in to pay my bill and asked David a question about one of the line items on the bill, and David suddenly frowned, became both defensive and aggressive and instead of offering more clarification regarding the charges he immediately threatened he would charge me for the time that the mechanic just spoke to me. I told David that I did not request to speak with the mechanic and and David replied, "It doesn't matter, my mechanic bills out at an hourly rate and you took his time and that time has to be charged somewhere." So I did not reply but just paid the bill and left and thought to myself...I had enough of this unprofessional place and I will never return here. I have spread the word to my riding group in the area to warn them. I will never return to M Racing. read more

Great place to get service. No matter what kind of bike you own or how old it is. These guys will provide you amazing service for your buck. My experience with them has been nothing but great. They helped us get a 19 year old bike that been sitting for a few years up & running as good as it ran when it was purchased. They've also helped me sell a bike before and that was even hassle free. I was visiting my grandma and couldn't find my part in my town so I figured I'd try the closest place to her. Walked in and waited for 10 mins for someone to come help me. I could see the guy behind the glass standing around glancing at me every now and then but he never came out to ask if I needed anything. I called to ask if there was anyone around that could help me and he acted like I was inconveniencing him so I walked out. I was looking for a knowlegable, reasonably priced repair shop in the SGV that works on both new and older bikes and saw some reviews online for M Racing. I took my 1984 Honda into the shop and was given an estimate of $500 to fix my carb problem (4 carbs). It was ready super quick and when I went to pick it up, I was shocked to find out that the bill was only 1 hour of labor = $85! These cats are HONEST, have a hi-tech shop and are real good mechanics. The bike hasn't ran this good in quite some time....great job; I will be taking all my bikes in and referring my friends. read more

I have owned various Japanese motorcycles for almost 30 years now. Recently I had my bikes serviced at a different shop and one bike came back with with missing screws on the fairing and the other with a broken part on the carb. Whats worse the bikes were running rough again as well within a months time. The carbs had been cleaned but the tanks not flushed nor was I even given that option or reasoning that it might be a very good idea since the bikes had been sitting and they knew that. So I decided to try another service center and found M Racing and read their ad about them specializing in Japanese motorcycles and gave it a shot. I worked with Dave and he spent a lot of time with me explaining different techniques that they could do to really get my fuel system cleaned. While I was there I found out that Dean worked there now as well. Dean had worked on my bikes at another location in the past and he is as good as it gets as far as I am concerned Dean had rebuilt my GPZ 1100 from the ground up years back and it has run perfectly for years and preforms much like a superbike. His work is like a master mechanic and I cant say in words how happy I am to have found him again and know that he can work on my bikes. Dave took in my other bike a Yamaha Enduro and after a carb clean the bike ran like new. Dave also took the time to educate me on fuel additives, a subject I knew little about but appreciated every thing he shared. And because of his added help I now know how to take better care of both of my bikes. M Racing did not charge me a dime more than what was originally quoted and the added information left me feeling that I should have literally paid them more for everything they gave me in knowledge and workmanship and added time. Their concern is about the motorcycles and caring for them and they treat the bikes with a level of professionalism and concern that is very hard to come by these days. So if you want your work done right and the feeling that comes when you know that the people working on your stuff have your back and best interests at heart then look no further this is the shop. read more

Mechanic is a total ass. They didnt fix my bike rite then tried to hide it a play dumb like they didnt know there was still damage . two other friends of mine went there and both caught attitude from tha mechanic and left . they had my bike two and a half months . then i had to Finnish fixing it somewhere else . supposedly he dyno tuned it .or did he? Didnt notice any change in the way it ran. Basically he overooked things that were supposed to be fixed in the insurance claim which ended up causing me a lot more money and headache o yea , after i got bike back it started to not idle rite . i didnt want to take it back there . would rather spend money somewhere else then take it back to that asshole mechanic for free . i would never go back there .. read more

They have always been accommodating with my questions, reasonable with their prices and reliable with their work. I have trusted them with keeping me up and running and safe on two wheels. On one occasion last year when my shift shaft broke David was able to find the one OEM part in the country through his parts source.
