Discovered a fast-leaking bathtub faucet with no easy access to turn-off valve panel that I could find. After hours as we were all getting ready for bed. Called M T Dunn Plumbing in Hillsboro and service repairman Irich gave me several options on how we could handle it. We decided the best route was to have him come out and repair it in one trip. He was at my door in less than an hour. He knew exactly what he was doing and had the needed parts on his truck. He had it working as good as new within the hour. We really appreciated that this plumber charged a low fee to come out and diagnose our problem, and then just time and materials to fix it. He came up with an inexpensive workaround that allowed us to use the bathtub again. A total fix would have required a lot more expense (potentially tearing a hole in a tiled wall), so we were grateful for the simple fix! read more

I discovered my water heater gushing water at 10:30pm and called MT Dunn based on the NextDoor reviews and had a new water heater within 12 hours. I called Mike first thing in the morning and he shuffled around his schedule to accommodate my need. The tech that came out was friendly, on time and explained everything he had to do well. Here is what happened. I called them stuck with no hot water. I have never touched a gas heater and I didnt want to take chances being also a rental. They sent a worker who did not know what he was doing. He tried lighting the burner and did not succeed to have it working. They wanted $125 for just coming over, I paid them $100 as they said my heater was gone. Turns out my heater is absolutely perfect but M T Dunn does not know how to light a water heater and I found out the easy way yesterday morning. I called their boss this afternoon and after explaining the whole story, he said that this is not what the worker had told him had happened. Then hang up on me and would not answer. read more

We called MT Dunn Plumbing when a leak suddenly appeared in the ceiling of a basement room. They had no available appointments for the next week but managed to work us in when when they found it was an active leak. (I know plumbers in the area were busy because I called several before reaching Mike.). They were extremely professional and skillful. I had anticipated having to clean out many of the things in the room where the water had dripped and accumulated but they went first to the room above -- and the refrigerator! They located the leak and fixed it, installed better tubing, and even fixed the area where the tubes come in at the wall (that had nothing to do with the leak.). Our house is out of town with a very muddy 1/2 mile access road but they navigated it without complaint. We very much appreciate the work! P.S. I had read the Yelp reviews to find a plumber. The positive reviews so strongly outweigh the negative that I decided to call anyway. I'm sorry that there have been unhappy experiences but we could not have been more pleased with the job done for us. read more

I called Mike about a leak in the elbow of a copper pipe underneath my water heater. It was going to be a difficult job for a DIY. He called me right back and within 30 minutes was in my garage hard at it. He gave me a few options and I left it up to him. An hour and a half later my water was back on. I couldn't be happier and a very reasonable price for such quick, prompt and professional service. read more

We have used Mr. Dunn's services on several projects and have had a lot of problems with the quality of his work and his service. He replaced a kitchen faucet and sink disposal for us initially, both of which ended up having issues. Later, he was supposed to install a toilet for us and did not show up or call as promised. When he did he ended up failing to seat it properly so it wobbles. He improperly installed a hot water heater, causing it to be damaged and in need of replacement. We demanded he replace it that week with a new one. The exhaust pipe for the second installation was not adequate. It was venting fumes and becoming so hot that it melted plastic fittings on its top and very well could have caused a fire or explosion. The vent on the water heater was eventually repaired by our heating/cooling technician by bringing it up to code. We also discovered that a large hole in the wall was left behind when the water heater drain was installed. Mr. Dunn's work is shoddy to the point of being dangerous. We wish we had spent a little more time to hire someone more professional for these jobs. We have since found a reputable plumber. read more
