Although diagnostic test didn't find my problem, which seems like I might have a possible upper pan o ring leak(beyond a simple diagnostic test), I just wanted to say that Randy and whoever was the tech was did an awesome job trying to pinpoint it as they wanted to hold my car and do a more thorough search at no charge to help me out. The multipoint inspection is totally spot on and told me about every nook and cranny on the outside that needs addressing. Actually it's by far the best multipoint inspection I ever had. Thankfully I'm already aware of most of the issues with my car, but there were definitely somethings I overlooked. Since I do almost everything on my car except internal engine and transmission stuff I'm really looking forward to bringing my car in for the timing chain guides and to have those O ring seals looked at. I just had a 13 WRX rebuilt and brought it to Snail to have it tuned October 2024. When I arrived the day of my appointment I was given paperwork to fill out, asking what mods I had installed. I filled it out very accurately and gave them my info (I spent my hard earned money to build this motor and be here to have my car dyno'd). I was later told I would be taken back to the dyno room. When I arrived Travis already had the car on the dyno I dont know how many hits in he was (its a far walk to the dyno room from the front of the shop) . He then got out of the car after a few more and told me he was all done, and that he had tuned for NO boost controller .... I then told him that my car DID have a boost controller from Grimmspeed and had to SHOW it to him... his response to me was " I do a visual inspection along with going off of the paperwork" ... what type of visual inspection is that? My car is now blown after no more than ~500 miles after tuning, very disappointed. read more

I hate going to the car mechanic for the same reason I hate going to the dentist: I'm usually paying a lot of money for something that shouldn't have broken in the first place. I also don't like giving 5 star reviews after spending thousands of dollars, but I'll make an exception here. The numbers don't lie. The Subaru dealer quoted me over $5000 for a head gasket, timing belt, and water pump. That seemed like a lot after doing some online research into what others were spending. Moreover, the dealer said they would use the same OEM head gasket type that was originally defective. "Wouldn't that mean it would fail in another 60k miles?" They just shrugged their soldiers. The dealer didn't have a good response. M45 fixed the famous gasket problem that all these Subaru cars have, plus a bunch of other stuff including the valves, front ball joints, and wheel bearings for less than the cost the dealer wanted. It was in the shop for less than a week, and the car drives like new. read more

Had my STI towed up to M45 for a non start issue from over an hour away because I've heard such good things about them from basically everyone who knows anything about Subarus. Ryan and the entire team were freakin awesome. From the first time I called to schedule the delivery for the tow Ryan kept me updated throughout the entire process! So many times in the past I often have to chase down other shops to actually even answer the phone, or to complete a simple task after my car has been there for an extended amount of time. Not only did M45 get my car in and out in under a week of work time but worked with me to allow me to pick up my car on the weekend even though they were closed. Ryan did not feel comfortable letting me take my car home until he knew and was confident that it was completely safe and fully functional. The shop went above and beyond to point out any additional issues without pressuring me into purchasing them. Every single time I called, Ryan was there to answer any and all questions and worked with me to complete the repairs, often offering multiple options to stay within my budget. Being that I was over an hour away, it was great that I didn't have to "show up" at the shop to figure out what was going on. I felt totally comfortable the entire time. It's so rare these days to find a shop that treats your car like their own and runs their shop without ego and that is willing to take time to build rapport with their customers but M45 came through, the repairs turned out amazing and I'm back on the road. So impressed! Again! The folks at M45 are the best. Went in because I was hearing some strange noises when I made a hard turn. Troy wrote me up and I got a call a couple hours later with the assessment. Mind you this is a 2002 vehicle so there is stuff. They could have put me in for a *lot* of work and I would not be any the wiser but it turned out that the problem was really just minor and not a safety issue. Will it have to be fixed eventually? Sure. But not right now. He gave me a detailed rundown of all the issues with the car but none required immediate services. Additionally he provided a very detailed written (with pics even) of all the service points that will need attention eventually. I can now plan for the maintenance according to finances and time. Of course I will be taking it back to them for these items as time and $ allows. If you have a Subaru (even if it is not a high-performance one), this is the place to go.
