Someone on TikTok made a mention to this place and when I discovered you can pay $17 to spend quality time giving affection to 30 cats looking for their forever homes, this was a MUST DO, NON NEGOTIABLE for me, lol. I purchased and reserved my spot online ahead of time at naughtycatcafe.com. Their hours are mostly 11am - 5pm daily with being closed on Monday's and Tuesday's. One noticeable rule that is mentioned by the owner/manager is to not pick up the cats as most of them have been recently spade or neutered. The main room of the cafe is a low key, rustic lounge. It's dimly lit for the benefit of a few of the residents. Veering to the right is an open space with couches and chairs for visitors to sit down on and plenty of window lighting for other cats to watch the happenings outside. I approached this one cat who was lying on her side and we bonded. I showered her with tummy rubs which she gladly accepted. Watching her closing her eyes in total bliss (and trust) had me feeling sentimental in the best way possible. It was pure joy to give this cat some cuddle time. This was actually my first ever visit to a cat cafe. I had heard about them occasionally, but never actually considered stopping inside one. But, this was the perfect time to take a break from my roadtrip travels, just connecting with cats (or animals in general) can have rejuvenating powers that is healthy for the soul. Overall, it was a blessing to spend an hour with some lovable cats. Too bad I'm not anywhere from the Chattanooga, Tennessee area but I am thankful that there are shelter/foster homes like this Naughty Cat Cafe to give them exposure to visitors who may consider adopting them, so they can live a quality life. Instead found parking on the street but later realized there was a parking lot in the back. I wish there was some way to have known about the parking lot as friends who were in a separate car ended up paying the $12.45. So we arrived at the coffee shop just before the rush and I ordered a strawberry lemonade and a almond Joy doughnut. The strawberry lemonade was so sweet that I added water twice to it, but could not drink it and eventually took it home and later the next day at additional water to help balance out the sweetness. The donut on the other hand, was not that sweet. It was a basic donut with a little bit of chocolate, coconut flakes and almond flakes. It was not that good and I was quite disappointed. My friend ordered a cinnamon roll and raved about it the entire time plus other friends ordered coffee and they all enjoyed it. So definitely a place to come back for coffee.

Wait time wasn't too bad actually. My friend and I both ordered the Hodgepodge Hash and I subbed the sausage for chicken sausage. Everything was absolutely amazing. I wish I had come here sooner. I loved everything about my meal. It was flavorful, dynamic, full of texture. It had that spice from the serrano peppers, crispy and flavorful potatoes, and the sauce tied it all together. I love savory breakfast, and that was it. Now I'm hungry and missing my previous meal just writing about it haha. Afterwards, we got gelato! I was pleasantly surprised that the gelato came with two scoops because I originally just wanted the coffee flavored one. So I had a scoop of Coffee + Cream and Pistachio. Our gelato was so tasty. I love anything coffee so this one was good, and the Pistachio one was nice and light. It had a subtle Pistachio creamy taste. Just as before, the gelato was smooth, creamy, and full of flavor. Service was great, our waiter was very friendly and super helpful with our food preferences. I have no complaints at all about our experience, and I love every single thing we ordered. Mother's Days are challenging, but I think where they hurt themselves the most is that they do not have a method to take reservations or even call ahead seating. Wait times were often in excess of an hour listening to other people waiting to be seated. That's a horrible experience on its face, and the management of this restaurant needs to do much much better or just close on Mother's Day. Next, we'll get to the food. I doubt it was a shining example of what they are capable of. I got the Shakshuka and it was mediocre. I'm not expecting it to be as good as what I would get in Tel Aviv, and I've had the real thing in Tel Aviv. But to be honest, the eggs came out nearly hard-boiled not poached. And the eggs are one of the stars of the show for this dish. If you don't get them right, the entire dish fails. Next will touch on the chicken and waffles. The observation from my tablemate was that it was dry and he didn't even eat it all. The same thing can be said for my other tablemate who had the chicken biscuit. The biscuit was exemplary, but the chicken was dry and actually overcooked. Then there were the omelettes, I don't believe they were impressive in any way and the people that ordered them agree. For those of us at the table that ordered coffee, it was rather strong. I normally like strong coffee, but this was borderline Turkish coffee, and there wasn't enough cream available to mask the potency. The service was also stretched thin. Our server, Destiny, did her best, but she was waiting too many tables. Having once been a waitermyself I have a special affinity for Service staff who are asked to do too much. We left her a good tip, but I'm sure she is capable of much better service than what she was allowed to deliver. Finally, the overwhelming crowd made the restaurant feel claustrophobic. The noise level was far too high, and we could barely hear one another at our table and we were sitting very close to one another. I don't place the blame on the kitchen, staff, or the wait staff, or even the greeters. This was a fail of management, plain and simple. They made no contingency plans for that many people and should have anticipated a larger crowd on Mother's Day. Management -I challenge you to do better!!! We will come back during a normal Service day to see if you can perform better, but I encourage you, as owners and managers, to stop setting your staff up for failure, which is what you did!

I got the blackberry lemon lavender and he got the raspberry pistachio. We also ordered some of their seasonal specialty coffees. When I drove up, the guy working was pleasant, as the rain is pouring. The menu had the standard coffee options. I decided on a treat of a chocolate white mocha. It was the perfect level of sweetness, a little creamy, and right amount of espresso combined it seemed. The to go cup was sturdy and no floppy placed lid to deal with. The price for the size was worth it. The checkout process is by using an ipad if you pay with a card so seamless. Each purchase comes with a sticker which is part of their customer rewards program. If you collect 11 stickers, you get a free beverage. Overall, this place is a good experience if you want to treat yourself to a coffee drink during a rainstorm I think.
