I paid extra for egg and cheddar cheese and there was no egg and this is the cheese
    Andrew D.

I went there for the first time and ordered a breakfast sandwich and paid extra to add an egg and cheese. I got home and there was no egg on the sandwich. Pretty frustrating. This sandwich cost me like nine dollars.

So, continuing on this weeks coffee journey, a quick stop on the Southside for a Churro Latte which unfortunately since I got the large was served in a "to go" cup, so no pictures. While the ingredient copy looked scrumptious, I was a bit concerned with the overall sweetness, which I had them dial back, a good call, at least for me with a delicious end product. Like many of the shops around town, their's is an old store-front with an outside courtyard. Friendly staff, and while I typically do not eat at any of the coffee houses I frequent, Mean Mug has one of the more extensive food offerings and the couple items I have tried, have been very good.

It's a good coffee shop. Great location if you live nearby, although parking isn't too difficult. The food is good, a muffin I had last time wasn't so great. Cappuccino is solid. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is a little bit noisy for doing work in my opinion, but if you flourish in chaos it would work for you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Very meh experience. Coffee was fine. Not great, but fine. We went on a Sunday morning around 9. Looks like lots of Chatty residents order online and stop for coffee on the way to church. For that, I think you're good to go and why I'll go with 2 stars. If you are hoping for breakfast and coffee, keep walking. We both ordered the "world famous" biscuit, which is the Chattanooga style buttermilk biscuit that is not sweet or light - it's heavy and these were almost stale. The cheese was a few shards of cheddar stuck to the biscuit. Eggs and bacon were good, but we moved the proteins off the biscuit to eat it. We also got pastries. A cinnamon roll and an apple loaf bread. Nothing special here at all, even warmed up. Mean mug is a good name for this place too, as the staff was young teens that were in no hurry and could use some training in smiling and being kind to costumers. Plenty of places near here for breakfast - I'd keep walking.

Oh my god, so good. Possibly the best bagel sandwich I've had. Lots of spinach, excellent tofu scramble, and the feta cream cheese Staff is super friendly and kind! Great service, [[HIGHLIGHT]]nice little seating outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The staff look very friendly there! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the decor around the space especially in the nook next to the entrance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the green latte, and if I didn't choose a flavoring I think it would've been superb. However the sugar free vanilla I got was super sweet and took over the flavor of the matcha. I also tried their vegan muffin which was a solid muffin! The blueberry and banana flavor was delightful.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute location with a nice outdoor patio![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The pesto on the caprese was sparse which was disappointing, however, the hibiscus lemonade was good. The biscuits looked great!

Stopped by on Sunday, 6/18/23. Free street parking or paid gravel lot parking. We ordered at the counter and they brought the food and drinks to our table. The food took a while to come out, but they were busy! They had a changing table in the bathroom, which was helpful! The bathrooms were kind of gross, but they were stocked with soap, toilet paper, and paper towels. Here's what we got: - Cold Brew ($3.50): I asked for Iced Coffee, but they gave us Cold Brew instead. It was too strong for me. - Blueberry Scone ($2.50): Good! - The Denny ($7.50): My husband gave this 3 stars. He said it was average and wouldn't get it again. - Breakfast Biscuit ($5.50): The actual biscuit was amazing. Super big and fluffy. I wish they did chicken in the biscuit, but I got the veggie sausage instead. It was okay. Nice place to stop on the way to/from Atlanta/Nashville, or if you're staying in Chattanooga.

Sophia - croissant, FRESH tomato, pesto, egg, greens, creamy feta

Nothing mean about Mean Mug! We walked to breakfast and each got breakfast sandwiches - so yum! I had the Sophia: a croissant sandwich, VERY fresh tomato, pesto, egg, greens, creamy feta. My husband got the breakfast biscuit sandwich with eggs and bacon - it was a bit dry but still really tasty. We got lucky as the line got very long after we had sat down and started eating - I'd recommend getting there early!

This spot is so cute! An industrial, instagrammable spot with a great menu. I am dairy and gluten free and there were plenty of options for me. The prices are very reasonable but portions are small. I really enjoyed my latte and my fiancé got a horchata which was great too! We both got a curry sweet potato bowl which was light and delicious.

Decent little coffeeshop. Plenty of seating when you walk inside. Their iced latte gave me the caffeine boost I needed for the day. However, I did not enjoy how dry their breakfast biscuit was. But they did pack a lot protein into it!

    Olivia T.

Breakfast was okay as well as the coffee. Biscuit was extremely dry. Service was fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice gated outdoor area for animals.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

From left is a vanilla latte, cold brew with hazelnut cold foam and an ice water.

Since it was our first visit and everything on the menu spoke to us, she helped steer us in the right direction. I ended up ordering the pistachio croissant, and honestly... I'd go back for that alone. It was warm, huge by croissant standards, and absolutely heavenly. I even grabbed another one to take home because Future Me deserved a little happiness too. We also tried the raspberry lemon danish, which was a delicious combo, but the pistachio croissant stole the show without breaking a sweat. We started with the poutine, and while it wasn't the traditional version I've had before, it was incredible. Instead of cheese curds blocks, it came with pulled pork and melted cheese, and somehow it just worked. Comfort food with a little Southern flair. For breakfast, we had the ham and cheese omelet with breakfast potatoes. It was exactly what you want it to be--classic, satisfying, and impossible to regret if that's your usual order. I also tried the Liquid Gold juice. Their juice selection is impressive, but I may have accidentally found my forever order on the first try. It was so refreshing, with just a hint of ginger. For a hot drink, I highly recommend the London fog. I'm not usually a tea fan but if you don't want coffee, this is an excellent option. Before we left, we picked up some of their salted caramels to go, and they make the perfect little gift... assuming you have enough self-control not to eat them all in the car. The vibe here is upscale southern diner. One of the signs on the wall said, "All are welcome, but you need to act right," and honestly, that's the kind of life advice we could all use. I also really appreciated that parking was free. In Chattanooga these days it's hard finding a place where you don't have to scan a QR code, download an app, and pay to park just to eat. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Milk & Honey is absolutely worth a visit...and if you're debating the pistachio croissant, stop debating and just order it. Your only regret will be not getting a second one.

We ordered the veggie omelette and the Broadbent omelette, and both were generously filled with fresh, well-balanced ingredients. Nothing overpowered anything else. Instead of relying on heavy spices or sauces, the flavors came naturally from the quality and proportion of the ingredients themselves. The sourdough toast was exceptional, with a crisp crust and great texture, and my cappuccino was exactly what I hoped for--smooth, balanced, and expertly made. The setting was just as enjoyable. Housed in a beautifully restored historic train station, the atmosphere has genuine character that complements the food rather than trying to distract from it. A breakfast that's driven by quality ingredients instead of gimmicks. I would gladly return and highly recommend it.

Knowledgeable, showed genuine concern, and were able to make accommodations without a lot of back-and-forth. Good selection on the menu meant we weren't working from a short list of options either. Food was good across both visits--consistent, which matters as much as a single great meal. My son particularly liked the Brunch Sausage Burger. Looked good, and seemed entirely appropriate after a late night. Large space, tables well spread out, and located not far from downtown. Easy place to settle in whether you're with a crowd or just the two of you. Good for: small kids, business meals, casual meals, groups Would come back. Already did once.

I absolutely loved the décor. The menu is extensive, and it was hard to choose just one thing, so my friend and I ordered two juices (Dope Beets & Let's Kick It Out) and two plates (the Grilled Pimento Panini and the Buddha Bowl) to share. The juices were phenomenal. Honestly, I would go back just for those. I really wanted to love the food, but unfortunately, it lacked flavor. I even ordered a cookie to try to redeem the meal, but that missed the mark as well. I felt especially bad because I brought a non-vegan friend and didn't want their first impression of vegan food to be a disappointing one, but sadly, that's how it turned out. That said, I'd be willing to return and try something different. Maybe it was just an off day, or perhaps the dishes we chose just weren't the best representation of the menu. I'd definitely come back for the juices, and I'm curious to try the smoothies too. Those might be a winner. I really want this place to thrive and wish them all the best! I really love their concept and support their mission 100%.
