Admittedly, I am not a huge review-writer. But there are a handful of experiences that just "wow" me and compel me to write a review. I give My Belles Cupcakes 5 enthusiastic stars! *amazing customer service *beautiful designs *delicious cupcakes I am an event planner and I commissioned cupcakes from Nicole for an adult's 40th birthday party. I started my vendor search early on and reached out to several bakeries and Nicole was one of the quicker responses. She had great pricing and product offering as compared to other bakeries so it was a no-brainer to select her. Throughout the process, she was quick to respond to emails even though she was swamped with other clients. Even when she was busy, she was courteous enough to respond to let me know that she was with another client but assured me that she would respond back with details - that kind of communication is always appreciated in my book. But also the fact that she was busy with lots of clients was a good sign to me - a booming business so she must be great at what she does. And she IS! I showed her a grainy screenshot of cupcakes featured on a Food Network show as something that my client liked and she was able to understand what we wanted from a design perspective. On the day of the event, my client (the party was for his wife so he helped out with the planning and event execution) went to pick up the order and he was so impressed - he noticed that there was a line of people going to Nicole to pick up their orders. He got a peek at a custom order of Ninja Turtle cupcakes and he said they were super detailed and looked incredible. When he brought the cupcakes to the event, we opened the boxes and we let out a collective "WOW!!!" when we saw the actual product. I had the cupcakes on display on a desert table and every time a new guest arrived, my client showed off the cupcakes - "check out these cupcakes! aren't they great?!" He was SO happy. I might have to say that the cupcakes might've been HIS favorite part of the party! The guests raved about how yummy the cupcakes were and everyone wanted to know where I ordered them from. I wish I had her business cards to hand out. We had a mix of vanilla and chocolate cake with a strawberry frosting. Not too sweet and really moist and fluffy cake. Not greasy at all. And for whatever reason, I felt like the cupcakes were a little bit bigger - maybe I'm just used to the more commercial "boutiquey" cupcakes places like Kara's or Sprinkles. They seem smaller to me. Ugh, and their cakes are always really dense and dry. As I mentioned, her pricing was super reasonable and considering how great her product was, I feel like my money was well spent! Worth every penny spent. Also worth mentioning, at 6am on the day of the event I had a change in my event timeline and Nicole was able to accomodate a request for an earlier pick up. I don't want to bring that up just so that future customers could benefit from that - but I just need to mention that to make the point that Nicole provided me with AMAZE-BALLS customer service. We had a professional photographer at the event so I'll post pictures as soon as I can so everyone can see the awesome work. I've been on my feet for 12+ hours, organized an event in 80 degree weather, I haven't even unloaded my car or taken a shower - I just had to jump on my computer to write this review so that I could get all my enthusiasm down ASAP! My Belles Cupcakes will get my business whenever I have the need in the Danville/East Bay area! 100%, every time. read more

Yep, I agree with everyone. I ordered a couple dozen cupcakes for my husband's birthday poker party. Nicole was fantastic and professional from the very start. She sent over some examples of what she could do, I got to chose a style and voila the planning was complete. Nicole was/is super easy to work with.... I can tell she subscribes to the concept of "the customer is always right" --- which all businesses should, however some don't quite get the memo.... She delivered the cupcakes to me right on time. Each cupcake was wrapped in a little red tissue holder. She even let me borrow a cupcake stand! Who does that?!?! Prices were right in line with what you'd expect to pay for custom made cupcakes and she delivered to my home in Danville at no additional cost. I hope to have her create some more magic for my daughter's birthday party in a couple of weeks. read more

I can't say enough about how WONDERFUL Nicole was to work with! I was lucky enough to come across her website while searching for cupcakes in the Alamo, CA area as I am from San Diego. Her reviews on Yelp prompted me to call her even though I am a Sprinkles fan! That being said, Nicole did not disappoint me. I wanted to send something very special to friend of mine that was going through a difficult time...knowing cupcakes would cheer her up, I reached out to Nicole. Nicoloe called me on Saturday (who does that?) and my cupcakes were delivered on Monday after we worked through the weekend via email to confirm the perfect designs. Nicole created the CUTEST cupcakes for my girlfriend...they included chocolate "shoes", fancy "handbags" and created a really cool cupcake topper that was a picture of me and my girlfriend from her wedding...so unique, special, beautiful and according to my girlfriend...DELICIOUS!!! (Even better than Sprinkles!) I am planning a trip to visit my girlfriend at the end of October and one of my first stops will be to meet Nicole! I've been thinking about those cupcakes ever since...I can't wait to taste them myself! read more

I was in charge of desserts for my good friends baby shower - I reached out to Nicole via email with shower colors and a theme. Not only did she respond within an hour of the first email. She created a variety of yellow/grey jungle animals cupcakes- perfectly reflecting the theme. They were the hit of the party and with a variety of flavors - everyone found a new favorite. This review pains me to write because my 2 prior experiences wtih Nicole were fantastic. However my most recent experience with NIcole (both her lack of professionalism/custormer service as well as the quality of the cake itself she made for my son's party) was a zero star experience. I ordered minicupcakes (like in the past) but this time also ordered a 2 tier cake. I sent her pictures of exactly what I was looking for and specifically asked her to replicate the cake. Cake arrived and while the color and theme were similar, it was not even close to the replica that she promised me she could do. I chalked it up to artistic license-even though it was not what I requested. As the party was happening (in a cool AC home) I noticed that the top tier of the cake was slanted. I first thought I was seeing things but as we're singing Happy Birthday I realized the top tier was actually leaning & sinking into the bottom tier like the leaning tower of Piza into quicksand! I got the cake into the kitchen only for the top tier to completely sink into the bottom tier crushing the bottom tier and the top tier crumbling everywhere. It was to serve 60 and i was able to salvage 20% of that. I requested 2 custom flavors- vanilla w/mango and chocolate w/salted caramel. There was no hint of mango- basically vanilla with vanilla frosting. Caramel was the super sticky and sweet kind found on caramel apples-no hint of salt anywhere. Top tier was dry and crumbly, bottom tier overly moist like those molten lava cakes and both super sweet - I couldn't eat it. I was shocked because the quality of the cake was not what I expected. However my shock only worsened when I then reached out to Nicole a few days later. I described what happened with the lack of structural integrity of the cake (I didn't menion the taste/design because there was enough wrong with the integrity of the cake itself and didn't want to to tell her all that was wrong because she seemed so "sweet" and I didn't want to hurt her feelings). Initially she voiced dismay. But when I then requested a partial refund since the cake was essentially defective (she had only put 1 rod support with no cardboard in between the tiers- and per other bakers I asked afterwards there should have been at least several rods and cardboard for support to prevent such a cake collapse) her demeanor changed. At first she offered 2 dozen cupcakes in 7-10 days to make up for it. I clearly but kindly said that we didn't need cupcakes. She kept pushing the cupcakes and not addressing the refund for a defective prodcuct. I reiterated that cupcakes wouldn't do it because we paid for a cake to be used for a party that we couldn't completely do because she didn't provide adequate support for the cake. She then essentially stuck her tongue out at me and had a temper tantrum where she became rude, curt and said she was thinking of giving me a refund but because I compared her cake to "lava" she was going to now refuse a refund. When did professionalism mean throwing a hissy fit because she thought I was insultling her cakes by calling it a lava cake--which by the way I didn't mean as an insult but rather a comparison to those super moist molten cakes. I mentioned the lava cake analogy because I also thought the consistency of the bottom tier affected the integrity of the cake because it was too super moist, almost to the consistency of those molten lava cakes and as a result couldn't support an upper tier. EIther way, her response was less than professional and not in line with the belief system that the customer is always right and lets take on a collaborative approach. I know she is underoing some difficulty with her house and maybe that's why she was so reactionary, but to take it out on her customers is uncalled for. Mistakes happen and I can understand and deal with them and that's why I always try to find a mutually acceptable approach when something less than optimal happens. What tells me the most about someone is how they respond in the face of such "mistakes" and Nicole's response was absolutely disappointing. Her cupcakes were fine, but if you are thinking of getting a cake from her for a special event don't. There are many many great bakers in the area and definitely who won't take out their frustrations on their customers. I've written several Yelp review and the majority are 5 stars--that is until now with my first 1 * review. Again so disappointed in how NIcole responded to a fail of one of her cakes. Bad cakes you can chalk up to a mistake, stars misaligning, a bad day...but rude, unprofessional and non-customer focused service is a choice that NIcole chose to do... I expect this from my teenage daughter but not from a so called professional baker. read more

All I can say is YYYYYUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYY! These cupcakes are super delicious! Nicole made them for our Super Bowl Party and they were a definate TOUCHDOWN! Super moist, and light! Nicole went to extreme measures to make sure that we had the right flavors, theme and decor to make them not only delicious to eat but adorable to look at as well. Nicole continues to amaze me with her creativity. I ordered cupcakes from Belle's Cupcakes for my 40th bday party. They were not only beautiful but super delicious! After my party, I received several emails from my guests asking where I had ordered them from because they were so good. Nicole is a Miracle Worker! We had tastings from 6 different places for my daughter's Bat Mitzvah but nothing was right. We stopped looking after trying Belle's Cupcakes! The flavors are phenomenal and the cupcakes are moist. We had our heart set on having Snickerdoodle cupcakes which Nicole had never made before. That didn't stop her. She tested recipes and had us try her favorite - it was beyond words! Now she's even improved upon perfection and the Snickerdoodle has become a best-seller!
