I always get takeout, so service is very basic and no-frills. The restaurant itself is small and unassuming, with only a few tables inside. We usually order the fried chicken wings without sauce, and have also tried the fried vegetables, fried sweet potato, Tteokbokki, and fried seaweed rolls. Everything has tasted very fresh, crispy and tasty. I wasn't a big fan of the Tteokbokki, mostly because I'm a chicken when it comes to spicy food, haha. Honestly, I took a sip of my friend's regular and I prefer the regular one. You can taste that the broth has been simmered for a good amount of time that there was an almost gelatinous texture to the soup but not too bad. As we were sipping away, we kept commenting how good this soup must be for the mind, body and soul and also our skin!! Only thing that was a con was that I thought the Soondae in the soup was a little overcooked and too soft in texture for my liking.

We got on the waitlist and requested them to call our phone number once ready and we got called in 10-15 minutes. Fun fact- coffee factory is across the street so you can grab a coffee and chill there while you wait. It seems like they mainly speak Korean but we had a waitress that spoke English and explaining everything to us in details, very attentive. We got quite a bit to try- Mixed handmade soondae: Wowwwwww. You HAVE to get this. I think the one with the veggies in there is the Jeju style soondae. Never had anything like this. It matches very well with the soondae taste and the veggies brighten it up. You know sometimes it becomes redundant when you just eat soondae because of its taste, it's not the same with this one. There's not much texture difference but still really really good. The normal soondae is also very good. Comparing it to other soondae I've had, it doesn't have too strong of the blood taste, very clean, and it's oh so very soft. Pro tip, can put more of these in the soondae soup if you got that too. Also use the salt on the side but very sparingly. They also came with offals on the top but they are not my favorite usually and it was very dry for me. Soondae gook: Very clean broth yet still creamy. On the side is the salt, pepper, perilla seed and salted shrimp. Go little by little but highly recommend to at least to put the shrimp and perilla seed as it's not really flavored like all other places. The soondae in there was also very soft, same as the normal soondae in the other plate. But the soup is still high up there compared with others I've had. Spicy soondae stirfry: They used the same normal soondae and stir fried it with some noodles, perilla leaves, dokbokki, and a spicy sauce. It's not bad, but having tasted the soondae on its own, we felt like it was a waste of the soondae. The sauce had such a strong taste, it masked the taste of the soondae. The dokbokki was super soft tho. Overall- you bet I'm coming back. FYI, their bathroom situation is pretty interesting. The restaurant has experimented with many more items and now has a menu full of other meats for the grill, but honestly, stick to the pork items is still your best bet. Btw, prices are still lower than their competitors like always. Yesterday, we went for Father's Day and the family couldn't have asked for a better experience. The service is as good as ever from start to finish, like always. Attentive without being intrusive. Our waitress made sure to always keep our grill stocked with kimchi, garlic, and bean sprouts, which catches the drippings from all the porky goodness in the center part of the inverted circular griddle. I can't express enough how wonderful the service has always been at this establishment. For this day, we had the black pork belly and shoulder, as well as premium pork neck and skin. Maybe the texture of pork skin is not for everyone, but you really can't go wrong with the other three. My favorite today was the belly, but other people preferred the shoulder and neck. Golden brown and crispy outside, juicy and tender on the inside. Dip the meats in one of the three sauces. Then eat it with a lettuce wrap, adding whatever veggies combination you see on the grill and table. One important note, do not leave here without having the Fried Rice at the end of your meal. They take whatever is left on the griddle, add more if necessary, cut it up to smaller pieces, then toss in marinated rice with lettuce and seaweed, based on how many portions you request. You can also add items like egg and Spam if so desired. Btw, each portion is about a small bowl meant for one person. At this point of the meal, you likely won't need that much, so I advise one bowl per two people. Then again, you can ask for more and take home what you don't finish. Just remember to allow the Fried Rice to cook long enough on the griddle that the bottom forms a crispy and crunchy crust. Anyway, if you like pork and looking for a uniquely wonderful experience, then make sure you find this hidden gem that has been making their customers happy for over 20 years now.

I didn't have the meat & vegetable dumpling but my husband said it had standard flavors -- nothing out of this world. The kimchi was spicy and sour-y which is what I look for in a good kimchi dumpling but I did miss a bit more seasoning. The boongeo bbang (fish-shaped pastry) was really good! A lot of vanilla flavoring, light but a lot of red bean paste inside. The Seed Hotteok (minimum order of 2) was really good. I snapped a photo of eating one in the car. I want to try the cheese one on my next visit! Sashimi Rice Bowl - this wasn't on the menu but they have a small sushi section when you first walk in. These types of noodle dishes really taste better eating it at the spot but I still liked the flavor, all the vegetables and the crushed perilla seeds they topped the soup off with. Very savory and deep flavors. Spicy Rice Cakes - I am just not a fan of this dish. I don't know why I thought I would like it but when I took leftovers to work, they even said it wasn't great. I guess I ordered it because I thought it would go great with the Assorted Tempura -- this was the star of the meal. My kids and husband really liked this and nearly finished the whole thing! It came with seaweed mari, tempura pumpkin, potato, crab sticks, meat-filled peppers, etc. You can feed an army with the Small, no need to get the Medium (unless you're hungry and a big eater but even then, I think you're good with the Small). Definitely check out if you're craving some Korean snack foods (bunsik).
