Stopped in while visiting Fort Walton Beach and found a line out the door. The one barista working was efficient, friendly and keeping things moving despite how busy it was. They have a great menu with plenty of drink options and pastries to choose from. The indoor space is small, but there's a nice shaded patio outside with plenty of seating, including a swinging bench under trees. It didn't feel like a super commercial or touristy coffee shop. The second I walked in and smelled the espresso shots being pulled, I had a feeling I was going to like it. The coffee was great, the atmosphere was relaxed, and it felt like the kind of local coffee shop I'd look for at home. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area. read more

We are in okaloosa visiting for a long weekend and wanted some good coffee. After seeing lots of nice reviews for Maas, we decided to check it out. I had high hopes but wasn't a fan of the coffee. The atmosphere was cute and I liked all of the roast/origin options. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with cold foam and my boyfriend got an iced cold brew. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I am picky about coffee, so I may be a bit harsh, but it tasted of what I refer to as a "cigarette in a cup", and my cold foam was just plain heavy cream. My boyfriend said his cold brew was rather weak compared to other spots we've tried. Overall not good but not bad either! read more

Overall, we had a good experience, even though the young woman working was the only employee on duty and had been helping a high-maintenance customer before us. This is a real cute small coffee spot but big on options! We found our favorite coffee in beans and had it ground for us. The staff couldn't be nicer and very helpful. I wish we had bought our coffee to drink this morning from here but we will come back here for sure. We were walking in the area waiting for a museum to open and stopped in for a coffee, it was some of the best coffee I have had in some time. When I walked in, I was invited by the amazing smell of the coffee. The place looks cute. It was small and intimate. It had coffee stuff all over the place. And it smelled like coffee heaven. I came in and ordered a latte. 30 seconds later, she handed me the latte. I was shocked how fast she gave me my latte. There was no latte art, which to me, doesn't matter. Latte art is a nice touch, doesn't really help/hurt the coffee flavor. But it shows the amount of care the barista had to make my coffee. I tasted my latte and it tasted super burnt. It was near un-drinkable. I guess the milk helped mask some of the flavor. But I don't even think the milk was steamed. I remember seeing an espresso machine, but did she even use it? Maybe all they had were over-roasted beans. If you're looking for a good espresso drink, I would avoid this place. If you want a quick cup of coffee, I guess you can come here. read more

I always go to there on weekends whenever I am in town for work. Their espresso and service are usually great, but this Sunday I had a most unpleasant experience. I ordered my usual - a double espresso with a little bit of milk. The cup was filled to the brim with foam. When I pointed that out, the girl started arguing that I had ordered exactly that. I politely told her that I always order the same thing - including the day before, and I always get what I expect. She reacted angrily and stared making a new cup with such speed and with angry rapid movements that she spilled ground coffee on the floor and hit the cup on the counter spilling a few drops while trying to put it on top. The barista was so sweet & helpful & recommended a "Redneck Latte", iced, and it was delicious, not too much ice, and she also customized it for me (half sugar). Hubby got a hot tea, and a treat, he said both were excellent. Also paper straws! We really enjoyed the charming & tranquil back patio, lots of plants, just fantastic for sitting, chatting, and enjoying our drinks. A real oasis, perfect place for a break from our sightseeing. Mass Coffee is a cute little coffee shop located on the main "shopping strip" in Fort Walton Beach. You enter through the charming patio and garden walkway or from the main road. Parking is the back or on the street nearby. There is a nice, waterfront park behind the cafe where you can read a book in the gazebo and sip your coffee watching the boats go by. This cafe has more seating outside than it does inside, but don't worry, they keep the patio cool with overhead covers and a nice fan circulating cool, refreshing air. They do have a few bar style seats inside and one is next is next to an outlet, if you are come to work and prefer indoors. They have their own local roasts and sell in bulk to businesses nearby. At the time of my visit they had all the milk options including my favorite, oat milk. The staff were super sweet and fun to talk with. They had a lot of regulars come in and out while I was there making it feel very homey and welcoming. The espresso was very pleasant and the pastries looked equally as intriguing. They have free wifi and a bathroom inside. I will definitely be back next time i'm in town. read more

Very cute coffee shop downtown! We tried the iced mocha latte and the iced matcha latte and both were so good! Their matcha was better than Starbucks. I didn't get a photo of it but they have a cute outdoor area in the back to enjoy your coffee. I also saw a dog inside so I'm assuming they're pet-friendly :) It was a little disappointing that an iced drink came in a cup for hot drinks and no lid because we wanted to walk around downtown with it. Great hangout spot. The staff is generally friendly and lax'. My only complaint is the variety in taste of a particular drink (mocha cola). Sometimes it has been nice and sweet, watery or flavorless. Ordered a Sydney Sunshine. In the end my review gets three stars because the coffee itself was nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary. Just regular iced coffee. Nonetheless, it was good. I still recommend going to this place because, let's be real, we need to support small businesses especially ones like Maas that are clearly making an effort to help their local community and the environment. So stop your ass from going to Starbucks and make your way here. The negative reviews on here so to all point to one issue: poor customer service. And to that I say, please shut up.
