We contacted this company after our prior servicer left on a month long vacation. The first week they were gone there was a different person here to clean the pool. No one came by after that. Our pool started getting an alge build up so I contacted MAB. They came out on the day and time specified. They brushed the sides and did a "shock" treatment. I was told the would come back a week later and finish the job. I was informed that day that we needed the backwash/flush valve replaced and the filter cleaned (about $300) to which we agreed. The week passed and they didn't show. I called, sent an email and a text inquiring as to when I could expect them. I didn't get a response at all. When I finally heard back I was promised they would be here before the next Saturday. This never happened. I sent a text that Saturday evening informing them that their services were no longer required. I had paid them in advance for the months service ($130). I have asked them for a refund but have not received a response. I do not recommend this company. read more

I was not going to write this because I didn't want to hurt the company. But I recieved a bill in the mail yesterday so I feel the need to warn others. The owner Mike is a bit Flakey and Dishonest I will write more when I get all my receipts/messages together. It should of been a red flag when the first month of service he tried to double bill me with an added late fee. I had to pull out my checkbook and show him I already paid. I was also billed for a filter change that was never done. When i called and left a message saying I have cameras in the back and never saw a filter change. He blamed it on one of his workers not doing it, AND that he was just made aware that they didn't get to it yet!! I was also billed for a lot of days that he didnt even show up to do the spa maintenance!!! NEVER admitting when he misses the weekly maintenance and he will just show up the next Positive stuff about this company is Mike is also a nice guy and he did a good job when he showed up. read more

He has been servicing my spa since we bought our home in 2011 and has done an excellent job with regular service and ongoing maintenance and keeping me posted on all repairs. My pool was in horrible condition. Mark and his son came out and made it beautiful again. He is consistent and always answers my phone calls. I have had other pool maintenance companies come out and they were always lacking... I'm completely satisfied with his work and work ethic... I recommend Mark 100 percent. read more

Very disappointed....I got several quotes to service my spa. I booked MAB pools despite their quote being the most expensive because the owner Mark assured me they were in business for a long time and offered a higher "quality" experience. I believed this after reading the Yelp reviews. However, the day of the first service appointment, no one showed up. I text the owner and let him know that no one came to clean/service my spa and got no response. A few days later, his guy showed up saying he "forgot" but I obviously had already booked another more reliable and less expensive company. The owner never text me back. read more

I DO NOT recommend this company, AT ALL! Father and son duo that does not respond to any texts, spends approx 5 mins cleaning the pool, not even sure they touched our spa. Was unable and uneducated how to turn our spa on and heat the pool and spa. Gave me all sorts of excuses why he missed a week, then promised to come the following week, no show. Mark dumped a bag of salt in the pool as he stated that the pool was low, and three weeks later our pool is now over salted, and all chemicals are WAY out of balance. Mark and his team cleaned and maintained our spa at our last house in Trabuco Canyon. So it was an easy decision when we needed the pool and spa taken care of at our new house in Lake Forest. MAB Pools is always dependable. Mark tells you in advance if they are taking a week off at Christmas, and otherwise they are there every week on the same day. We arranged our pool cleaning day to be after the gardeners leaf blow all of South Orange County into our pool. Adrian shows up like clockwork and works until the pool is ready for back yard entertaining. I hired Mark and his Son to do our Pool Maintenance. I paid him up front since he said he was a single Father, struggling and recently divorced. He showed up once on his scheduled day. The second week, he didn't show up, when I texted him, he said he had some emergencies come up. He told me he'd be there the day after. He showed up, surprisingly. The next week, same thing, he didn't show up but this time didn't respond back for over a week. He told me he had a family emergency this time but wouldn't tell me when he could come resume service. Another week goes by and still nothing from him. I had texted him 3 times and still nothing. I had no choice but to find a new Pool Guy. Last week, he texted me and had more excuses and didn't remember even texting me. I asked him for a refund but still haven't received it. I would rather not recommend this guy, now he in the crook category as far as I'm concerned. Don't believe this guys excuses and do yourself a favor, don't use this guy. read more
