Like... questionable life forms, not inviting, absolutely not getting in that water and now?? It's literally crystal clear, sparkling, and 100% swimmable again. The transformation is actually insane. Aside from the results, he is super professional, shows up when he says he will, and communication is on point (which honestly is half the battle these days). No chasing, no guessing, just gets it DONE. And the pricing?? More than fair. I feel like I'm getting way more value than what I'm paying, which never happens anymore. Anthony totally saved the day! He fixed my pool heater in a few hours. So, my pool heater decided to break after all that rain, and we had this huge party planned for the day after Thanksgiving with about 15 kids super excited to jump in the pool. I woke up and started searching for help online, but every company I tried wouldn't even pick up the phone, or when they did, they said it was a holiday weekend and couldn't help. Then, I reached out to Anthony, and he picked up right away! I told him what was up and how it would be a total bummer if the pool or hot tub wasn't heated for the party. He was like, "I'll be there in 20 minutes to check everything out and do my best to fix it for your party." He showed up, checked everything, and found out that my main board was water-damaged. Then, he called every supplier store in OC and only found one in Anaheim (which was an hour away). He jumped in the car, drove over, got the board, came back, and installed everything. I'm so impressed with how quickly he did all that, all to help out and save the party. He got the hot tub running just as the kids were getting ready to come to the party. BEWARE. ZERO if I could. Do not use this pool provider. He failed to come on a weekly basis. When questioned he was out of town and then on another occasion he said he was in an auto accident. I referred a family member to him, and he failed to return after draining the pool to add and balance the chemicals which was paid for upfront. A pool that doesn't grow algae every week? Never thought I would be able to say that. My previous pool service company was unable to maintain my pool properly between their weekly services to the point that I would find algae growing every week just a few days after they had "serviced" my pool. When they decided to raise their prices, I decided it was time to find a new company. Now I feel like I struck gold since having AMG Pools come do our weekly services. The owner Anthony came out and took a look at my pool and I explained to him the situation and issues with the previous maintenance company. Within 2 services, the pool went from its usual state of having algae everywhere to being algae free and crystal clear! The best part...IT STAYED THAT WAY THE WHOLE WEEK!, bye bye to the weekly algae growth. So far it's been a month since Anthony has been servicing our pools and I can't remember the last time our pool was being this well maintained. Anthony's pricing is more than fair for the level of service he offers. He's gone above and beyond every time he's been out servicing the pool. I would love to leave a positive review and recommend a family-owned business, but unfortunately, I cannot. I had Anthony and his son servicing my pool for a month and a half, having chosen Anthony based on the positive reviews on his Yelp page. Let me start by saying that Anthony's prices are far higher than the competition. He charges $165 per month for service and an annual $475 for chemicals, which equates to over $200 a month (I have a 10,000-gallon play pool). This was far more expensive than any other company, but you get what you pay for, right? Well, that's what I thought, and sadly, it didn't hold true. Anthony was hard to get in contact with, and often it would be hours before I heard from him. In the beginning, Anthony and his son were great. He sent me a picture of the before and after of my filter clean, which cost an additional $150. However, that did not continue--I only received pictures for the first filter clean. I met Anthony in person the second time he serviced my pool. He made it clear that he was in a hurry and didn't have time to talk, mentioning something along those lines. It caught me off guard, but I understand he is running a business; this was my first time meeting him, and I had questions about his processes. Fast forward, Anthony texted me on the day of my normal service to let me know he was in an accident and wouldn't be able to continue service. He also mentioned that I needed a bigger filter, which seemed odd to bring up considering his accident and inability to continue service. When I checked the pool, it was turning green--surprising since he should have been there a week prior. I wish I could post a positive review to support a family-owned business, but I cannot. His prices far exceeded those of his competition, and the results, communication, and reliability do not match the price he charges. I did receive a prorated amount back for the chemicals. This review is from a while ago, and I most likely would not have posted it had I not been abandoned. He mentioned he was no longer going to continue servicing pools, yet it still seems like he is operating. Edit: Due to Anthony feeling the need to message me after I posted the review, I thought providing proof of the conversation was necessary. Anthony's response to my review claimed he had informed me that he proactively stopped service, but this was untrue. He stated he was in an accident on my service date and was unable to continue servicing my property. Reflecting on the review David left, it seems he also told David about an accident and then ended the service. He told me he was in an accident in May and told David he was in an accident in August. Is it a coincidence? I don't know--you can be the judge. I purchased the filter at Anthony's request. The filter housing and filters cost a total of $700. Initially, Anthony told me installation would cost $200. However, when I asked him if we were going to install it, he began adding additional costs. At that point I decided to hold off. Unfortunately, the filter Anthony requested I purchase was not needed. I spent $700 on the filter housing and filters, and they are now sitting in my garage. My new pool service technician has not had any issues maintaining my pool with the original DE filter over the last 9 months. Anthony continues to send messages, insinuating something "needs to be done now". Is that a threat? You can decide. He also left a voicemail of himself laughing. read more

I have been meaning to sit down and write this review for a long time. Wow where do I start? Last summer our pool started to have black algae growth. Let me tell you, if you've ever had to deal with black algae or know anything about it -- it's the absolute hardest thing to get rid of in a pool. Our pool had been essentially shut down for about 6 months. I was doing my best trying to take care of it myself but quickly became overwhelmed with the algae growth. Even heavy shocking, algae treatments etc that I did on my own were not working. I would use 5lb of shock PER DAY, for a week straight combined with heavy scrubbing with a metal wire brush. That quickly got very tiring, with little results and I ended up leting the pool sit. It essentially became a swamp within 6 months. You couldn't even see the bottom of the pool. We were embarrassed to have friends or family over. It was so bad there were actual mosquito larvae swimming in the water. Once I saw those I immediately did some research on well the best rated pool service and cleaning companies. I called a total of 3 to get ideas on what to do and quotes. The first company told me that it could not be done because it was too hot out, and my plaster would crack. It had just barely started to warm up here in Phoenix and was about 85 degrees. The second was very obviously not interested in helping at all, or doing the work needed to get the job done. Then I called Anthony. I am beyond happy that I came across Anthony. He came out and gave me a fair quote, laid out the entire process and we got started the next day. Anthony personally worked on our pool for over 8 HOURS the day he did the chlorine and acid wash. He brought an industrial power washer as well. Let me tell you, it looked like a ton of work. The difference was absolutely night and day after he had finished. I couldn't even believe it. All of the black algae was gone, the pool plaster was nice and bright white again. I was so happy. The next day he did one final chlorine wash, and we had the hard water tile line blasted off that day as well. The before and after is amazing. I am ecstatic with the hard work that Anthony put into our pool. I am so glad that we chose to go with Anthony because he did the job right the first time and did what was necessary like it was his own pool. We cannot wait to swim in our "new" pool! I will let the before and after photos speak for themselves. Anthony said he's never seen black algae so bad before, and I believe it. Thank you again Anthony. We have since been using Anthony for weekly maintenance and it has continued to be algae free and we can enjoy our pool again. I recommend AMG pools and Anthony whole heatedly. I had my usual battle with Home Warranty, this time on a failed pool pump. As opposed to fighting with them, I called AMG and Anthony immediately answered the phone. We chatted for a few minutes and I sent him some photos of my pool equipment. Within 12 hours, I had a brand new pool pump installed. (I also cancelled my Home Warranty contract as that is an epic waste of money) Anthony is amazing. First month went well but was nagged about old water and high TDS but would never provide data about levels. As it was the height of summer I did not want to risk cracking my plaster by a drain and refill ($650, not including water cost). He assured me that it would not crack but had a waver of liability for me to sign so I passed on doing that until the temperature dipps. I too got the "going to fire you as a customer if you don't drain and refill" talk even though I am paying $50/month for chemicals. When he was around it was great but halfway through August (which we paid for) got a text that he had a car accident and has ghosted ever since.
