I found them to be lazy and really expensive. If I'm going to spend $700 to fix my hard drive/ labor etc you would think they would tell you that you need a mouse with a cord to reset your Bluetooth setting. After not having a computer for over 10 days I got home and couldnt use my cordless mouse. It may be a minor thing but after all of that $$$ you would think they would send you home with some basic instructions. I had to go back out and buy a new mouse. Frustrating. Oh and when I called back I explained who I was. He was like "what's your info." I was just in there 15 mins ago!!!! Ughhhh. They just don't care. read more

I called this place and explained that my macBook is not charging. The technician told me it would be about $130 to fix it. When I went there, he told me that there is a $90 inspection fee to find out what the problem is and then they would charge me in addition for parts and labor. I was very upset about their dishonest approach especially after a long drive, and going around the block several times to find a parking space. I would never go there again. read more

They are so honest! I spilled espresso on my laptop and while trying to fix it, tore off a letter key. The little rubber nodule that holds the key was missing. They fixed it for me for $10 within a few minutes. I asked if they think I should have the laptop opened up and cleaned out (the cost is over $100 for a service like that) and told them there was no sugar or milk in the espresso. Instead of insisting I should so they could make money off of me, they told me if my laptop is still working, then not to bother wasting my money to have it cleaned! Amazing! read more

I had an awesome experience here today. My Macbook hadn't been working for the last several weeks and I was already mentally preparing myself that I probably needed to fork over the $$$ to buy a new one. But deep down, I was still hanging on to a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe there would be a way to fix my laptop instead, without it having to cost an arm and a leg. I took the laptop to the Genius Bar at the Apple store yesterday and was told I'd have to leave it with them for a few days for them to diagnose the problem. They suggested I go to a 3rd party vendor beforehand to extract all of my pictures and files before I left it with Apple. So today, I did just that... I walked into the Mac911 shop because it was closeby, and within a few minutes, he suggested it may be just a faulty adaptor that I would need to replace. He used his adaptor in place of mine to try it out... and WALAHH, my computer was fine! I bought the adaptor, and was on my merry way in a matter of 10 minutes. The gentleman who helped me was honest, professional, and very helpful. This experience absolutely surpassed my expectations and I would definitely recommend them!! read more

this place was awesome! I had a problem with my Cinema display. i had taken it to the Third Street Promenade Apple store WHERE THEY KEPT IT A WEEK , FIXED NOTHING AND TRIED TO TELL ME IT WAS ALRIGHT. THE SCREEN WOULD NOT LIGHT UP. I called apple support told the rep my story and he suggested MAC 911. I took it in. A really nice guy named Felix told me exactly what the process would be, how long it would take and promised updates. that evening they called with the first update, the next day they called again saying they needed one more part and it would be ready the next day. the next day they called and true to form it was done. I picked it up hours later and it has worked flawlessly ever since. ALSO they honored my apple care with out any questions, something even Apple itself tried to get out of. My experience at the Apple store was horrendous, and I would never go back, but these guys were terrific and if I ever needed service again they'd be my first call. read more

I felt very confident dropping off my Macbook pro to these guys, the Apple store in Manhattan Beach told me they would be able to fix my laptop much cheaper than them. I had spilled some liquid on my keyboard and had water damage, and they are one of the only certified repair shops that can fix this and keep my warranty in tact. When I dropped off my laptop, the gentleman was very nice and quickly gave me a receipt and said he would call with an estimate. NEVER did he tell me there was a minimum $90 fee just to look at it. So, they called about 3 days later and told me it would be about $600 which was essentially the same as the Apple store quoted me. So I hesitantly said go ahead, then not more than 30 minutes later they called back and told me they found more damage and it would be $1400! So, I just said forget it, I'll just buy a new laptop. So to my surprise when I went to pick it up, they slapped me with a $90 charge! I told them I was never informed about this, and he pointed to some microscopic fine print at the bottom of my invoice where it can barely be read. I tell you they make a good percentage of their profits doing this to customers. $90 a pop, just to spend about 5 minutes opening up a laptop. I argued that no one told me this when it was dropped off, and their response was basically to bad. There is no doubt there should be a sign posted very large at the front desk that makes this very clear. If I had known this, I would have just had apple fix it. Please take my advise and DO NOT have these guys give you an estimate on repairs. It will mosts likely be cheaper to buy a new computer. read more

first of all, i am all about supporting local businesses. i have always wanted to use this independent store but every time i arrived with a question or desire to buy something, it took the person there quite a while to even notice me, let alone ring up my purchase. i just arrived today with a simple question and was told that i would have to leave my computer there for 2-3 days. unacceptable,! especially in this world of hi tech and needing to be with your computer 24/7. they wouldn't even take a quick look. so much for using my local community. i will forge ahead to apple or call my IT/part time actor person who would be unequivocally much more receptive. read more
