The whole staff here has always been amazing with me. Until today and working with Shari. I bought a final sale bronzer on 5/4. When I got it home and opened it, the pressed powder was broken. No big deal, MAC is great about standing behind their products. I went into the store and when I got there, the sales associate was on the phone. Being a frequent shopper, I'm friendly with the staff at MAC and on a first name basis with people at Sephora a few doors down. I casually got the bag out to point and indicate I'm here with an item I purchased and grabbing a replacement (trying to serve myself as much as I could, I wasn't demanding instant attention). She really abruptly and with a sharp tone said something like "HOLD ON JUST A MINUTE MA'AM" and went into the back. Then she talked to someone delivering something and signed off on it. Finally, she got to me. I explained the situation and she said "It's final sale. No exchanges." I said that certainly cannot be the case, it's damaged and I just want the exact same product. She got ruder and ruder while insisting that the register WOULD NOT EVEN LET HER exchange a damaged final sale product (which is an outright lie). I was like "Okay, so can you damage it out and give me another one." She laughed at me and said she wouldn't do that and I would need to PURCHASE another. I asked her "What's going on? You've had an attitude with me since I walked in the door." She insisted she did not and it was my problem. Her tone and absolute refusal to work with me say otherwise. She again insisted she could not exchange a damaged final sale item. I said I was going to call customer service and again, her tone was really rude as she offered to give me the number. "I'll give it to you myself!" I called the number and was waiting on hold. Another associate walked in and I thought maybe I could work with her. I started explaining the situation and Shari interjected loudly "SHE'S JUST A FREELANCER SHE CAN'T HELP YOU." At this point I'm really frustrated. I've been shopping at MAC since I was a teenager for 25+ years and I have never had someone treat me so rudely. Her whole attitude was "I refuse to help you, you're wrong about your assumptions, if you don't like it, call corporate." I know MAC's final sale policy does not apply to damaged items and that within 30 days the item can be replaced. I'm on hold with the 800 number. I describe what's going on. The rep says she can accept the exchange. I tell her so. Shari starts the exchange. She asks for my receipt. I aks her to please look it up under my rewards, I just got it yesterday. She either rolled her eyes and/or groaned, something that conveyed annoyance. At that point, she switches from a rude attitude to over the top, sarcastically polite. She finishes the transaction and says something like "NOW YOU JUST HAVE AN ABSOLUTELY BLESSED DAY, MISS SARAH." I said something to the effect of "You know it's free to not be rude" and she kept saying that blessed day sentence over and over again. I admit, on my way out I said I was calling corporate to which she responded "I'll be looking forward to it!" What the hell? Shari was the rudest, most uncooperative, most reactionary and escalatory salesperson I have EVER had and she'd be lucky to hold down a job at a fart factory. read more

I had such an egregious experience in this location with 2 employees that I actually ended up calling corporate to make a formal complaint. Without going into details, they refused to honor their own companies customer service polices, rolled their eyes at me (both of them multiple) stopped working with me to work with another customer midway through "helping" me, only to go back and talk about my IN FRONT of me and when I interjected because I could hear them, they held up an index finger and said " we'll be back with you in a moment" and went back to talking about me in front of me. I have worked retail - a lot of it at various different stages. It is not always fun. I'm sorry they hate working retail so much but that's not my fault and I was nothing but respectful to the both of them. I just wanted them to honor what I had already been told by customer service. This was an absurd and un professional way to treat anyone much less a customer and as a result I likely am no longer a MAC customer. read more

My daughter and I had such a wonderful experience at MAC on March 15, 2026, thanks to Whitney. We came in with very little knowledge about makeup and had several skincare questions, and she immediately made us feel comfortable and supported. Whitney was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive, she truly listened to our needs and tailored her guidance in a way that felt personal and easy to understand. What stood out most was how gentle and caring she was throughout the entire experience. She never rushed us, took the time to explain products and techniques, and made sure we felt confident in what we were learning. Her knowledge and professionalism were evident, but it was her warmth and genuine care that made the experience so special. read more

Horrible! I don't even spend money based on walking in and none of the employees bothered to acknowledge me. No, it wasn't crowded , yes 3 different employees saw me and none acknowledged my presence, or asked if I needed help, or bothered to say I'll be right with you. I've noticed a lot of people who work in retail feel as if they can choose who they want to service, sad. That's how you loose money . You work in retail! Serve people who come in the store! Im probably more a MAC user now than when I wrote my initial review in 2012. I know I am because I'm sitting here looking at a receipt where I spent $78 last week on two lip pencils, a lip scrub and a lipstick. Recently I received an email that Nicki Minaj was releasing a new color through MAC and it looked pretty online, so I replied back to the email to RSVP my time I went in thinking since it was an event I need to RSVP for that we'd get our faces made up and still be able to shop the new collection. Not so, the girly guy that helped me explained since they are an acutal MAC store they only did partial make overs (lips or eyes or one cheek, but not a full face) without an appointment there were multiple people sitting in chairs when I arrived, but as I looked around I noticed no one was getting their entire face don. So really there was nothing special to RSVP for, maybe they wanted a head count so they knew how many bottles of Processco to buy, because between my daughter and I we had at least 8 flutes of what they were offering. The staff was nice and although I didn't go with either of the new Nicki shades, I left with a shade that was fun if not complimentary. read more

Today I was helped by Michael who was such a sweetheart. I've used Mac before in the past I'm loved it by shyer away from the line after they discontinued the Matchmaster compact. I didn't have the money to purchase any products today but Michael still helped me to find my perfect match. He listened to exactly what I wanted when I said I wanted the makeup no make up look. He recommended/ introduced me the Studio Fox Soft matte in NW50 & blot powder dark deep. Both worked beautifully on my skin and gave me what I wanted. What I appreciated the most was the fact that I didn't feel pressured to purchase and item. Nor did the employees seem annoyed with me asking all of the questions That I asked. Came in here to get ready for a new look for the new year! Now obsessed with their eye makeup, lipsticks, and lip liner! I got one of the eye makeup palettes consisting of the browns and purples, which looks great on my skin tone. Also, I got the plum and light pink color lipsticks and lip liners (matte) which look amazing. Don't forget to take advantage of their makeup stylist in the store! Ask them to recommend what looks best on you and give them an idea of what you like. IMO, if you're going to pay their high price for makeup, why not make them work for it?! Well, that's exactly what I did anyway... the makeup artist was working with multiple customers at the same time and I didn't mind because if you're like me and take a while to decide on what you want, then the wait times in between work out perfectly. The way I understand the MAC retail hierarchy is that there are counters, free standings, then the pro-store. I've also heard that as a MAC artist/sales associate, this is how you move up in the ranks. This MAC is the best outlet we have here in Atlanta. I spend so much time here that it's kinda embarrassing, but I always feel wanted and welcome. Some MAC counters and artists have the reputation of being rude and/or snobby, but I've never gotten that vibe here, even when I haven't bothered to paint my face. I've also noticed that the employees here are way more knowledgeable about the products and limited collection, and are more adept at artistry than their counter er...counterparts. Beware of this location on the weekends, though; it turns into a madhouse. read more

I rarely write reviews but wanted to let people know about my experience here. I had called this location for an appointment to get my makeup done for my engagement party, and I asked for that only (note here that I didn't ask for any special treatment or privacy in a separate room nor was I told my options). I got to the store and was taken to a private studio in the back which was strange, but I assumed they didn't have room in the front chairs where they usually do makeup. Bryan did a good job on my makeup, which is why I even gave an extra star, however, he and everyone else failed to mention (until my appointment was already over and my makeup was complete) that there was a $50 flat fee for the private studio. Usually MAC only charges for the makeup that you buy afterwards. So I ended up paying double because I didn't want to stress myself out on the day of my engagement party and Bryan didn't seem to care that nobody informed me of the fee beforehand. Pretty annoying -- make sure you don't get caught by this hidden fee in the future and make sure they do your makeup up front! read more

Save your self some stress and place your order online. I refuse to go back to this MAC simply due to their lack of customer service. There is a woman at this store that acts and looks like Ursula the "sea witch" (this is my OPINION) the poor unfortunate souls that would expect her to assist them in getting their product has got another thing coming. I asked her about their concealers and their coverage and she said to me "well they are over there go take a look" I did not want to "take a look" I wanted her expert advice on what would work best. She walked away from me and asked another person to check me out because she had to go assist someone else. It was beyond annoying and her attitude was the worst i have ever encountered. I have tried time and time again with this store and last Friday was my last effort. The associates tend to stand around and get annoyed when asked to work. I cannot continue to drop hundreds of dollars only to be treated like I am begging for samples!! So based off of the previous comments the sales associates are still rude/pushy/etc. And honestly, they are also currently rocking this crazy clown make-up that is atrocious... Anyway let me tell you about my experience.. I went shopping with my mom to this particular MAC store because she was in town and needed to get something for her friend overseas. So buying online wasn't happening and this was the closest store. The guy who was helping her was ok but he had really long nails that were nasty! As a person who formally worked in cosmetics retail-appearance is so important especially something as simple as hygiene! I cannot imagine having his nails clawing at my face if he was to apply anything on me or another customer. Anyway, I was browsing the other products when another gentleman walked up to me, TAPPED ME ON THE SHOULDER and asked me if I needed assistance. I have never had anyone tap on the shoulder while shopping. As if I stole something! Just don't touch me! I politely said no thank you. He kept asking me questions regarding the type of products I currently use. Went on and on about how their brushes are rated the best or something. I don't care and didn't ask. I guess he got the hint that I was reciprocating and moved a long. Then when my mom finally found what she wanted, upon check-out the same associate that bothered me ringed us up. He was chatting with other associates (not interacting with us customers) while we waited for his conversation to finish. He literally threw our items in the bag and my mom and I left baffled. Again, as a person who formerly worked in cosmetic retail sales-they really need to work on their customer service skills. And management should definitely evaluate their appearance before stepping on the sales floor. read more

So...I gotta admit, this is the first time I've actually walked into the MAC store and I've never even worn their make up before. Always intimidated with the MAC name so I've stuck to make up lines I can easily purchase at Sephoras and Ultas. But not anymore. I'm converted and damn proud of it! It helps that I had THE best make up artist to help me and my friends out. We got in there early in the day, before the crazy crowds got to the mall so we had Gina's undivided attention. We told her what we were wanting to do - find make up for make up virigins, keep it natural, but beautiful for a wedding. She got right to work. Perfectly matched my friends with their foundation, gave us some ideas for shadows, patient with all the questions we had, and was extremely helpful with make up applying tips, etc. Whenever I go back, I'll be looking for my girl Gina because she's the reason for the 5 star review. I can't speak about anyone else, but I do hope they are all as great as Gina. I'd hate to WANT to spend that much money on MAC products only to be snubbed and judged at the door. read more

I came into the MAC Cosmetics store yesterday at Perimeter Mall to hunt down the Chili lipstick. I came to the mall to look for two things: the Ruby Woo and Chili Mac lipstick. I had gone to the MAC location in Macy's and was able to pick up the Ruby Woo but they were sold out of the Chili. I walked around the mall and came to MAC and was immediately greeted by as Associate as soon as I walked in. She was extremely friendly and when I asked if they had Chili in stock, she said yes and brought one for me. She introduced me to a few other products she thought I may be interested in, mainly lip liners to match my lipstick. When I said I wasn't interested, she didn't fret and checked out my order. I've always had pleasant experiences at this location. Sometimes MAC associates can be a little bit overbearing and I had never felt that here. I don't normally buy MAC but really wanted a particular eye shadow set they had out for 2010 Holiday. I went out of my way to go to mall hell to get it. The store was a little dirty looking and the "sales artist" was as unfriendly as the other people here are Yelping. Sorry life sucks for them but scaring off future business will make life suck more. I was looking forward to spending quite a chunk of change today since I haven't been to the Pro store in years. It wasn't busy, and even if... it takes one second to say "Hi". I won't be giving them my money. I went next door to Sephora, where my expectations for customer service and being greeted are already low... so I wasn't disappointed. He displayed what it is to be a Mac artist and treat every customer that walked in with kindness! He helped me grab a few things I needed while out of town, and was so kind. I used to be a loyal MAC customer and would shop at this store on a semi-regular basis. Everything I owned was MAC - foundation, powder, eye shadow, lipstick, etc. I decided to stop shopping at the MAC store due to their return policy and unhelpfully rude associates. Their return policy only allows returns for 30 days and they are extremely strict about this. I went to MAC to get a new foundation and purchased the product that one of their makeup artists suggested. I tried it on in the store and it looked great. I went home and used it and realized it was too dark. I also decided I didn't like the formula - too much shimmer for my liking. I don't live in the Perimeter area so I figured I would just return it the next time I went to the mall and this is what I attempted to do. It had been 35 days since I purchased this mismatched foundation. I was 5 days past the return date and they refused to return it. They wouldn't let me exchange it for another product either. I asked to speak to the manager to see if there was anything that could be done so I wasn't out $40 and I was informed that she was the manager. I was really annoyed by this whole situation and haven't shopped at this store since. I guess it is ultimately my fault but at the same time I expected a better level of customer service. Also, their makeup artists aren't the most helpful either. They are typically snotty and rude and clearly don't know how to match foundation to skin appropriately. My whole experience with this store has skewed me away from the product line entirely. If they would have made a simple $40 return or exchange I'm sure I would have purchased hundreds of dollars worth of product from them since this ordeal. But alas they didn't make the return and I have taken my business elsewhere. If I need a MAC product now I always purchase from a counter at a department store - that way the department store's return policy applies which usually means no crazy date restrictions. read more

They rushed me and when I got home realized she gave me the wrong eyeliner. I went in the middle of the day with only 2 other customers in the store. Instead of her asking me about the different liners that twist, she ASSumed she automatically knew what I was talking about. And me not knowing there were multiple black eyeliners that twist up, I went with what she gave me. Had she said we have multiple black liners that twist and showed them to me I would have been able to pick the correct one. But no, she pulled one off the shelf and went to check me out. So my purse was stolen on October 22. My MAC Viva Glam Lady Gaga pink lipstick was one of the contents in that stolen purse. So I went to MAC in the lower level of Perimeter Mall to replace the stolen lipstick, because it was my absolute favorite lipstick I have ever had in my life! So I go to MAC a couple days after my purse was stolen, only to encounter a painfully pale, overly made up blonde employee there who seemed to not want to be bothered. There was no one in the store, so I asked her for the lipstick. She did not move from her post, just told me they are sold out and so is Nordstrom, and to come back Thursday. Well, I went back the following Friday, and was told once again that both that MAC cosmetics store and the MAC counter in Nordstrom were sold out. So I went back to the MAC store on Saturday, November 13 @ 6:30pm. The store was typical of a Saturday night. A few people getting makeovers with their friends standing around, a couple of employees rushing to get off work, customers not being greeted, etc. I picked up one of the 2 display tubes of the Viva Glam Lady Gaga pink lipstick and went to stand in line. There was a lady being checked out, a lady behind her, then me. The lady in front of me just wanted to purchase a lip pencil. Then two ladies walk up behind me and asked where was the line. I told them. So then a MAC employee comes from the back, and does something on the other computer/register, while another one is standing there asking her about a conference call and when is she getting off work. So another sales associate walks up, and motions for yet another customer to come to the front of the line to be checked out, a customer who was not in line! So then another lady walks straight to the front of the line. Apparently she had some items at the register already that she was exchanging, so I guess she got priority whenever she selected her substitute products. So the lady in front of me said, "This is ridiculous, I'm leaving." And she left. So I asked a pale blonde can she please check me out. She did not look happy at all about that. I showed her the tube of lipstick I needed. She said, "We're sold out of it and don't even waste your time in Nordstrom because they're sold out too." That was it. No "I'm sorry" or "Would you like for me to check another MAC Cosmetics store for you?" or "Come again" or any guess as to when they would get some more in. Well. I had to go to Nordstrom anyway to do some gift shopping, and I ended up passing through the makeup counters and saw MAC. Their consultants were busy as well, but one stopped and greeted me and asked if I needed help. I told her what I was looking for. She got a tube for me right away, even though she had been in the process of doing a client's makeup. And it was the right tube! I told her what the woman in MAC told me about not even wasting my time in Nordstrom because they don't have it. So told me they were sold out of it but that was a while ago. I thanked her for her service and attention. I will not visit this MAC store again. I will just stick to the counter in the department store. Instead of buying more MAC foundation that night, I went upstairs and bout the Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals makeup. Employees need to realize that good customer service is essential, and bad customer service could have grave consequences! read more

I stopped in to get a few products I had been wanting to try. A little confused and new to mac cosmetics I asked the closest associate for help. I will say, no one came up to me. I had to ask for assistance which seems silly seeing how many colors and products they have. Once I was being helped the staff all seemed nice and willing to help. Gary is who helped me and he was very nice and professional. I told him what I was looking for and he helped me find every product I wanted. He matched them to my skin tone and showed me how to use everything in detail. Overall it was a fun experience and I left with a lot of good product and more knowledge on how to do my make up for the evening event I had and how to use all the products casually. Gary was fun and didn't push me to buy anything I didn't want. I will definitely be back! read more

So I go into the store to check out a collection that just debuted. I always chose this store over Lenox to dodge the crowds. Anywho, I walk in to an empty store thinking 'Yes!! All to myself!!" There were three girls there (neither of which I recognized) one behind the register, two on the floor who greeted me. The collection was right at the door so I beelined right for the particular lipstick I wanted to purchase. It was replaced with another lipstick from the permanent collection. So I ask about said lipstick they all look to the lady behind the register who looks at me and says, "You're always in here, you know we sell outta stuff!" Wow! I was appalled and embarrassed to say the least. I just walked out. This last trip has literally obliterated all the other great service I have received in this store. I am a huge fan of MAC cosmetics, and many of their products are staples that I use everyday. I believe that MAC offers the best selection of makeup for women of color and those who really like to experiment with their makeup looks. I normally purchase my favorite MAC products online or at a Macy's or Nordstrom counter, but for whatever reason I decided to stop by this MAC Pro store on that particular day. Although it was early on a weekday morning, there were several costumers in the store browsing. I saw two makeup artists, but neither one of them bothered to greet me or ask if I needed help. The costumer service in this particular MAC store was basically nonexistent. The sad part is that is usually doesn't take much convincing for me to drop some cash on a new lipgloss or blush--they definitely lost a sale. I don't anticipate going back to this store anytime soon. read more

I went to the Perimeter store to purchase the pink "insanely" lipstick. I decided to get an update. I was in the store looking around and the sales associate on the floor helped people after I came in. I was not happy. Then a young sales associate (pale) applied makeup with hands that smelled as if she had just purged her lunch/dinner with her hands! The scent of puke was too much!! It was disgusting! I was tactful and did not say anything. I think I will go to Nordstroms to purchase my Mac products. Higher caliber of staff!!!! They want to sell the products and are not on some "this Mac store is too special" trip!!! read more

Associates are very aggressive. Do they work on commission here? I had 4 different people ask if I needed help. Which you would think is a good thing but they were just overly aggressive. I felt almost forced to buy. It's very crowded in here. I was literally bumped out of the way by another customer. I definitely won't visit this location on a weekend again. read more

I don't recall "ever" getting so much hands on attention so quickly minutes after walking into any MAC STORE. Megan gave me expert lip color recommendations based on what I said I was looking for (she was a great listener) and then she set me up at one of the makeup stations with my three color choices, wipes to sanitize the lip colors AND tHEN she came back by with the perfect lip pencil color to compliment my color selections! One star and I wish I could give nobe at all. I just walked out of the store because no one wanted to sell me a product. The sales person with the horrible blonde wigs helped the person before me then jumped on the phone and asked me to wait. I came to MAC after work with a girlfriend 1/27/2017 and was greeted by the manager, who we had no idea. He was absolutely awesome to us. We tried on several lip colors and he gave us great advice. He had to leave us to start closing the store, but sent another employee to continue serving us. I plan to make this a regular after work Friday night stop. I love the products and the atmosphere on my visit. He definitely made my girlfriend and I feel welcomed and appreciated for coming in. I came to MAC to purchase a few lipsticks. I noticed there was some staff who were standing idle claiming they would be with me in just a moment. Five minutes had passed, and I see some staff tend to another customer who had walked in after me. At that moment I left and went to Sephora, who had not only had much pleasant staff- but cheaper cosmetics for the same quality one would get at MAC. Going forward, I'm going to Sephora unless I happen to find myself at Lenox Mall. read more
