everything about this mac used to be on point--years ago. these days, i always have to wait for someone to help me. the service here sucks, and a lot of the employees are rude. what's really awful is that, even when i've been waiting for what feels like FOREVER, they'll sometimes start helping a customer who walked in after me. try sticking to the MAC counter at nordstrom, or shop online if you know what you're looking for. read more

It is just OK here for me. The girls are nice but service is always a little slow. I can't really figure that part out especially when it's empty. I've gone in a few times and they were out of my NC40 powder. When I received the wrong powder online and went into the store to exchange, they said No! They don't accept online returns from MAC. I stopped by Mac in Topanga to grab an eyeshadow. Jessica helped me. This girl was totally on her game!! Smart, friendly, inspirational and knew her products. As we chatted she recommended a powder that has worked out perfectly. Rude rude rude. I've been in this store on THREE occasions hoping to get different customer service and it's just NOT happening and I will NOT be returning. It might have actually sworn me off of MAC products forever. Of the three times I've been there one was with friends, one I was on the phone, and one I was by myself completely eagerly looking for products. The first time my friends and I were IGNORED COMPLETELY. The three chatterboxes just talked to each other and when I asked where their eye liners were she just said "over in the cups." This was my first time being in the store and I was confused. I tried to get their attention again and just ended up leaving. Second time I came BACK hoping to get more help with their eye liners. I tried them out this time but couldn't find certain colors. I asked a woman to help me and she just kinda struggled and said the colors weren't very organized and I'd have to search. Ok....No. There was a specific color I wanted and she just didn't seem to want to do it. The last time I went will be my last in MAC. I went for lipstick. Firstly, I know very little and they had like 403 types of lipstick and I was trying to get someone to explain the difference and I was ignored. This was the only time someone had said, "Welcome!" but ignored me after that. I asked a lady where their lip pencils were and she just pointed aimlessly. I then asked if she had one in black and she just said, "No." And I sighed as she walked away to tend to other customers. I had a lot more questions but they didn't seem to want to deal with me. I just went back to Sephora each time and bought something there. I'm sure Mac has a great quality of product but it's the only one close to me and I likely wont ever buy anything. I'm not sure who manages this store but they hire the most RUDE girls. In the future, I will avoid them and stick to Sephora right across the way or Ulta a few minutes away on Fallbrook. I'm always greeted there and the ladies are always willing to help me. read more

This review is just on the customer service. The woman I encountered at this store shouldn't work in retail. I came in just looking at lipstick and being a big Sephora person I had no idea what I was doing. I asked the woman if there was I can swatch these so I can see what they looked. She helped with a huffy tone. She ended up helping another woman and talking to her about something completely unrelated to MAC. I went to the register to wait and after a few minutes she looked at me and asked what I needed. I said I just need two lipsticks but not sure if I grab from the inventory or not(since I do at sephora). She said well then bring them to me if you want them. I get them, bring them over, she ends up just going back, grabbing the items, handing them back to me and goes back to the other woman without a word! read more

I recently came to this location on Saturday and noticed a lot of welcoming staff as I walked in which is surprising because of all the negative reviews about their customer service. I was helped by 3 different salespeople who continuously asked me if I needed help. In all, I felt welcomed and they totally sold me on one of their new tinted LightC moisturizers. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and the two ladies who helped me the most (can't remember their names). I would agree that the Nordstroms at this mall would have better service as I went in their after I couldn't find a certain lipstick at this store read more

I got my makeup done here for new headshots and really liked it. They were very professional overall. A woman named Gia did my makeup - she did a great job on her consult and the actual makeup. The photos turned out great! My only gripe is that they don't tell you fake eyelashes cost extra ($15) so beware of that. Love the free mascara they give you though! read more

This is definitely my favorite MAC store. I've never had a bad experience here. Went in today to get a long list of stuff & to experiment w/ some new stuff as well and left a happy woman. They were really busy and as I was looking for lip glosses one of the girls came over to offer help but she wasn't very helpful. I wasn't in a rush or anything and I really wanted to take my time w/out being hassled, so I continued to look around. I then approached another one of the girls, Liz, who was SO helpful, personable & sweet. Loved her. She helped me get all the stuff that I needed and some new stuff as well. She was honest about what worked for me & what didn't, and ultimately helped me find the perfect shade of lipstick. She was great! Excellent shopping experience! =) read more

I have never set foot in a MAC store. Until today. The moment I walked in, the salesperson greeted me with a smile. She asked what I was looking for, and brought me over to the appropriate section. She helped me out with everything I needed, explained everything, and tested out several products on me. First of all, I could tell she was qualified. She was very kind and gentle, which I appreciated. Secondly, she continued to work with me after another customer arrived, and then kindly excused herself . I have been a MAC girl for ever since I have worn makeup. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Mac Makeup Artist OURFA ZINALI. I actually went to her at the Tarzana store location...I found her off of Instagram (@ourfazinali) and I wanted her specifically to do my makeup for an event I was attending. She was SO NICE and made me feel so good, and LOOK GOOD, I ended up buying a ton of product from her, more than I usually buy. One of my favorite things she does, is gives me tons of makeup tricks and styles to do on my own. Then I was sad when I found out she was moving to Topanga Mall, which is so far from me. But because I love her work and her service so much, I literally drive 25 minutes just so she can do my makeup. She always calls me when there are special collections coming out, I feel as if she is my personal makeup girl! I actually LOVE this location, so the drive is worth it. It is not only my favorite, but the artists here are AMAZING, great energy, w/ great customer service. read more

Wow. The ladies working at this store are fabulous. Soon as I walked in the door I was greeted with a big smile and was helped. The girl helping me was more than willing to try on many colors of foundation on my face until we found the right one, she even put on a touch of blush and bronzer to give just a little color before leaving the store. Yelp needs 0 stars. It is places like this that make you wonder about society. Came in for a moment and the atmosphere reads rude at the highest altitude meaning the snobby demeanor, including that of the managers, is nothing more than utterly disgusting. Wow let me just say my make up artist Mona was amazing! I showed her a picture and she gave me even better than I could have imagined. She was super sweet and personable. This was my first time going to a standalone MAC store versus one at a dept store and even though technically you get a better product deal with the dept stores, the experience was way better here. I've been meaning to write a review for while. Another crap experience so here I am. Mac has good products so the 1 star is for the women that work here. One time I went in to get my eye shadow. They have a thing where you bring in 10 empty shadows and get one free.. I think 10, it's been awhile. Anyway she was so rude and unfriendly. Like I'm an a hole for bringing in empty shadow containers to get a free one. I understand when they're helping other customers but they should still acknowledge you and tell you they will be with you. Customer service really needs to improve at this store. My favorite cosmetic store. I don't have time to retouch my make up throughout the day so I use the FIX Foundation. The foundation helps the make up stay on all day with a fresh look. The long lasting lipsticks stay on even after eating or drinking. The brushes are quite pricey but they help with application. read more

Eh. Just eh. I came in here trying to find a product or several products that could give my eyeshadow that "wet look". After being told - and quite rudely so - by the manager that I was "out of my league" and that "to have that effect is impossible without makeup running 10 mins later", I left. Everyone else at the store was friendly except the older woman who I believe was the manager. But she had been so cold and demeaning that I didn't stick around. 5 minutes on Google however taught me I can achieve the wet look but wetting my brush and applying powder or using metallic eyeshadows. As a frequent visitor to this particular mac counter I always end up being totally satisfied with the customer service I get. I usually ask for Erica because she is simply the nicest and one of the most talented artists there. At times the store can get pretty crowded and the staff do get busy but I think that they are all extremely nice, having met several of them and establishing a good relationship with them. As for the actual products there, they all are amazing and work beautifully. Eyeshadows, lipsticks, and foundations are my personal favorite things to buy! I have recently become a MAC fanatic. (buying my first 6 lipsticks and lip liners in 1 month). I work at the mall and I come in all the time on my lunch breaks. All of the girls are wonderful. But one of them really stuck out. Arianne is the most wonderful employee. She was super friendly, knew exactly what I wanted, and provided the best customer service. I have also been helped by Savannah, who was also amazing. Both girls to me are the reason why I come back. They know my name now, and I have only been shopping there for a month. I even filled out a comment card to tell the company about the experience I had. Unfortunately, recently, I bought a blush that gave me a weird allergic reaction, and since i exchanged another product for my blush, I was nervous I was stuck with a product I couldn't use. Fortunately, they gave me store credit no problem. I am so happy with this store, and I will continue to shop there. read more

Every time I walk in this store I get the worst service. No one ever says hi or acknowledges you have even walked into the store. I have had to walk out of that store TWICE in one week because I can't get anyone to help me. Their customer service sucks!!! They basically don't care about helping their customers or making sure their customers are satisfied! They wouldn't let me exchange a brand new product, unused, in the box, perfect condition which I bought from them less than 2 weeks before. Their manager doesn't give a crap! I asked for the district managers phone number and they gave me a recording of placing an order. I do not want to place an order. MAC Is my absolute favorite makeup, but the sales people at some of the stores are just completely rude. This is probably my favorite one that I've been to (and I've been to a lot lol). They've always been very helpful, not pushy and not acting like I'm bothering them when I come in. So this review isn't for this Mac but the one inside Nordstrom's i had the worsttt experience there first i was running a little late for my make up appointment and they assured me if i was even 5 minutes after my 15 minute wait period i would lose my appointment and the gentlemen doing my makeup would go to lunch so when i got there at my time imagine my surprise that he didn't go to lunch but was just starting someone else's make up someone else started mine and when i showed her a pic a fewww times and my make up was completely not even in the same scheme she got mad that she had to redo it and had an attitude the wholeeee time cuz i didn't like it we had to start over and when i tried to talk to her she said i don't have time to have convo with u rude horrible went Home fixed my makeup just terrible i will defff not be using them again read more

If I could do 0 stars I would worst store ever !! Every year for Christmas I get Mac gift cards I went in and was never acknowledged same thing last year .... Staff only offered assistance to Caucasian ladies there but never asked me if I needed help those ladies didn't even buy anything I had 150 in gift cards to spend I had to wait to get help and I was still looking when he just charged me and said it'll be so much talking the entire time to the lady next to him he thinks by saying bye beautiful it makes it better won't be going back went to Sephora we're they helped me buy everything I wanted I ended up selling to a friend my Mac gift cards won't be going back read more

ok honestly i love mac and makeup. what girl doesn't? what gets me about this mac store is that the customer service sucks! i don't know if its cause whenever i go in, i already know what i need to buy, so i don't need to be "up-selled" i always feel like i'm standing around waiting for them to finish putting makeup on someone or up-selling the person they're working on. they should have someone who's always at the counter so you're not stuck waiting around. i've been to this location about 4 times and every time i'm waiting at least 15 for someone to come ring me up. i really wouldn't go to this one but since i have a pro card, i have to go to a free standing store. if i didn't i would go to mac counter @bloomingdales in sherman oaks, they're always nice & friendly! read more

Fantastic customer service!!!!! I lost my new lipsticks and called in and they were able to look up my purchases on line so I didn't have to figure out what new colors I got. Horrible experience. Came in and they had a greeter in the front (not sure her name but she was Asian). I asked if they had any availability to get my full makeup done. She said yes! She said it's usually $50 flat fee but they had a weekend special and it would be free with a $50 purchase (like how they do it at Nordstroms). She told me to go to the cash register and ask for a lady named Wafa, which I did. Wafa seemed a little snooty. She told me to come back in an hour so I said ok. I returned only to wait another 20 minutes until someone came back up to me and said my name had to be on a makeup list, which WAFA failed to do. They put my name on the list where I continued to wait another 10 minutes until someone approached. Not sure her name but she had red hair. She began to ask me what I wanted and I told her I wanted vibrant lips and wanted to buy lashes she could put on. She responded pretty bitchy and was condescending to me and said "this makeup is only to test our holiday products and would be eyes only." I explained to her that is not what I was told, and she said she would double check with her manager. She returned and said "sorry, eyes only." I responded and said that was not what I was told by 2 of the employees there and I made it CLEAR I wanted full makeup. I looked around and saw other people getting their complete makeup done so what was the issue that it was eyes only? It's not like I wasn't willing to buy merchandise. I ended up leaving disappointed and wasted 2 hours of my time. Sad because I probably would've left spending $100+ on cosmetics with tip. Poor management, employees think they are gods and don't know the concept of customer experience\service. I ended up going to makeup forever to get my makeup done. read more

I love MAC cosmetics! I regularly shop here... but I can't tell you how many times I've walked out of this particular location because they are either understaffed or completely ignoring me. Their staff is a little snooty and has looked at me without even so much as saying "we will be right with you". I have a passion for makeup so every time I come in, I know what I want so if I don't get helped by an associate or even so much as acknowledged within the first 10 minutes, I have to walk out on principle.
