This is by far the BEST MAC location. I've had my makeup done by Kayleen for a couple photo shoots and she is AMAZING!! She is a very talented and excellent makeup artist highly recommend her! Hello, I was there this past Saturday Jan 29th. As I was walking up to the doors, I noticed three customers leaving and your evening sales associate put a post it with a 15 minute break on the door. The sales associate saw us as she let those previous customers grab something they forgot in the store. Therefore I walked around pacific city to kill a little time. When I looked over from upstairs, I see the sale associate applying her makeup. Then when I walked back over to go shopping for my professional makeup kit, I had a important client the next early morning and I was working in a salon all day therefore I couldn't go earlier. It was around 8pm I believe. I previously checked online that this location closes their doors at 9pm. The doors are locked and the sales associate was doing her cash register. Then she rudely walked over chewing her gum and pretended she never saw us waiting in front of the door. Mind you, I was with my coworker and her adorable puppy, there's no way she didn't see us. The fact that I was turned away at the door as I was trying to make a big purchase, unacceptable. I've worked in customer service for the past 15 years including makeup retail and I've never seen someone be as rude as she was and without a care in the world to turn away customers. read more

Have I not written a review for this place? Been coming since they opened. Beautiful location right on PCH!! They have a few shops that I do more window shopping but it's a great way to spend a day. Gets you close to the beach and the food options are pretty good. My favs when I come are Bear Flag, Lemonade, and Philz coffee. There is also usually live entertainment in the little courtyard are by Lemonade & Simmzy's. Looks like they are redoing the food court area since it's probably been hard during covid so will have to see what comes in. Han's ice cream is also a good choice and so is Frosted cupcakes, but this last trip, they are closing in Oct22, which is sad. Very clean restrooms and they do validate parking. She was terrible at suggesting items & gave me so much attitude . I asked her if I could sample a new shade of tinted moisturizer because mine was a little to dark from summer . Instead of trying to match me , she was going to send me home with a few shades to do it myself? I've been here a couple of times and thus far, she initiated such great customer service I was blown away! I gave her my list and she quickly gathered everything. There are new MAC products that I was not aware of and because of Jennifer C., she informed me with everything I needed to know. With checking out, it was quick and efficient. I love the new writings on the glass window where it can quickly pull customers in especially having Sephora right across the way. The organization of the makeup is superb. This location gives positive vibes all around. So many cute dogs to see! Came in on a Friday, prom season, and the store is ON and POPPIN. However, I was still greeted by multiple employees and helped within a minute. I had an appointment at 3:30 with Leanna and she has got to be the most down to earth person ever. It speaks volumes when even your peers say great things about you when you're not paying attention, which another employee did. She was very accommodative and literally went above and beyond for me, even prior to meeting her as I was trying to schedule the appointment. This new MAC location opened in Pacific City in Nov. 2015 and is probably my new favorite location. It's in the center of the plaza on the 1st floor. I walked in the other day and there was only 1 associate working who was help another customer, but she did an awesome job being attentive to the both of us. As Pacific City gains more popularity and foot traffic, I anticipate this MAC location to find a lot of business between locals and travelers. I love this store as an alternate to Sephora. Thank god it's next door. I hadn't tried this location out but when I did try it out with a friend, the second I walked in, the employees at MAC made us feel at home. The worker that helped me took her time and didn't make me feel rushed at all and helped me be more confident with my purchase, even if it was a mere $18 spent. She even offered to apply the product on me before I could even ask. Unlike my past experiences with Sephora, she actually took time to line my lips AND apply the lipstick neatly instead of just slapping the lipstick on and calling it a day. My experience at MAC was HEAVEN. The girls there were super helpful and nice about everything and I was amazed at how patient they were with me, considering I'm usually indecisive about things & like to take my time making sure I'm buying the right product.
