Well stocked CosmoProf and the staff is wonderful! I had a hot tools curler I purchased and unfortunately the handle was defective. I believe I spoke with the manager over the phone and she told me she will gladly replace a new one for me. Great customer service and I'm pleased with my new hot tools. My original one lasted me 10 years and I was happy to get a new one. I will say during the times we all went through in 2020-2021 of course there was a shortage in supplies due to slow production and deliveries, but now things are starting to stock up and be available. Two girls were working there on 3/31/19 around 2:15pm (maybe if they wore name tags I would be able to address them directly) and both of them clearly needed more training to improve their customer service skills. With the first employee, she rolled her eyes, didn't even look at me in the face nor answer in full sentence when I asked whether they carried a product I was looking for. With the second employee, when I asked her that I needed 8 more bottles of this one spray product, she told me (with a resting face) that "whatever you see there is all we have". -- ok I get that, but I don't think it's that hard to say it with a little smile, telling the customers that you were happy to help them. Anywaysss, this review is particularly for the management. When the employees aren't doing what they should do, I always think it's the management's fault. The employees only do what the manager tells them to do. When they don't do what the manager tell them to do, it's also the manager's responsibility to follow up and retrain. Kudos to the staff and the store manager, Bernice. I'm a manufacturer and I frequently come here to view my products, or see the nice product selection that they have in various categories. I've always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. If you are looking for wet lines (shampoos, conditioners, gels) there is a good chance that Cosmoprof has what you are looking for, they tend to stock the big professional brands. Ashley was so friendly and helpful, trying to help me call customer service and sign up for a new membership, even though it took a while waiting on the line. I had a super random situation where my Acct got deleted (even though I have been registered since 2014) & she called customer service for me and went above and beyond to make sure my Acct was recovered and up to date. I only go to this cosmoprof because it's close to my work and home, otherwise I would never buy anything from them. Most of the staff is rude and have sour faces. I went in today and asked if they have any derby razors and the one heavy , bitchy women gives me an attitude and I gave her one right back. If you do walk into that store, be prepared to hold your own because those women are not professional or helpful. read more

Okay, first off - you can only purchase something from here if you have a license or come in with someone who has one. Came in on Sunday with my mom (she has the license) around 3pm. My first impression was, "Wow, it's smaller than I expected". The selection is okay. However, I got everything I needed (common products). I feel like the prices are still a little high. The customer service is lacking. The girls only help when you ask. There were two on Sunday. I wanted to try a new sulfate-free shampoo for my freshly bleached hair so I asked for help on a duo that they might have on sale. She suggested a Paul Mitchell brand duo that she swears by. However, when I asked if it was sulfate-free, she didn't know. I had to read the label myself. Uhm, yeah. So my question didn't get answered. After I found what I needed and feeling so rushed (because they partially turned off the lights and were closing at 4), the total was a little over $100. My mom told me to check the receipt again, I was overcharged. There was a sign for Buy 3 Get 1 Free. I was charged for 4 hair dyes. i knocked and one of the girls checked the shelf and I guess it was from last month's deals. She still honored it, which was nice. I probably will go back if I need something desperately. read more

I just love the staff here. The manager Sonia was a great help and she has done a great job staffing. Her cashiers Jennifer and I forgot her name but the younger girl with the long black and blond ombré was very kind and patient with me. I came in clueless of the fact that I was shopping from an older mailer and so of course I missed the sale by a day. But they took the time to help me with my purchase to see if I could save a few bucks with their current sale. Because it was the day after the sale their shelves were somewhat bare, but they went out of their way to pick up a product that I wanted from a nearby location the following day! Amazing customer service!! In the beauty industry where there are so many negative stereotypes of catty women with competitive attitudes, I'm so grateful that this local Cosmoprof breaks the mold. Terrible customer service. I cannot believe the way I was treated by Stacy and Victoria yesterday. I usually come to this location at least twice a month to purchase all of my color and styling supplies. Once in awhile there will be a nice staff member there, but usually they are not very helpful and just make you feel like they're doing you a favor. If you need their help with anything, they will begrudgingly help. I'd go into the store expecting poor service but just dealt with it because it iress the closest location to my salon. NOT ANYMORE! I have had it with the attitude and lack of professionalism exhibited by the employees at this location. I will now drive a further distance to go to the Fountain Valley or Costa Mesa store just to avoid the dreadful experience at the Huntington Beach location. I felt it important for the company to know how poorly their regular customers are being treated. To the point of losing business because of their undeniable disregard of courtesy and respect. I would never, in a million years, treat my clients the way these employees treat their customers. Hire secret shoppers or wipe out the staff and start fresh with employees who make your customers feel appreciated. read more

For the past 4 1/2 years I have been doing business with this establishment....and I've had very good experiences.....until the other day. I drove from the other side of town to pick up some products (ones I really needed) but had limited time since I was on my way to work. I was greeted in the usual manner.....pleasantly....and I asked for some assistance in finding a product. When I was ready to make my purchases (which was within moments)....and it was obvious I was in a hurry......I asked the only one on the floor (although I heard giggling voices in the back room) if I could check out. She said in a minute......since she was helping another customer pick out nail polish (or so it appeared)....and I get that....but the woman seemed to need a lot of assistance and I had my cards and products on the counter. I believe someone could have been called up to assist.....but that didn't happen. When the sales person finally came over to the register.....she proceeded to pull out a book designated for products that need to be ordered and was preparing to take the other customer's info. It would have taken her 2 minutes to check me out and let me be on my way.....if no one from the back room was going to be called to assist. Unfortunately I could not wait any longer......and had to leave the products. I will not be going back to that location. read more

I had a great experience with this store the other day which is why I am writing. They helped me put together a kit of Gelish products that were advertised for the month but, I guess, had never been delivered to the store. I called at least 5 other stores and no one knew of kits ever being available or not. I even talked with the corporate office and they didn't seem to know much about it either. Emily, the manager made a call or two for me and decided to put the package together right there. The end of the deal was in a day or two and they don't take prepayments for products that need to be ordered; so if it were to come in after placing an order for it, I would have to pay regular price. I am very thankful for that. What made it even BETTER was that after the kit was assembled put together with the 12 preselected colors that Gelish included in the kit, Emily let me trade out the colors I didn't want with ones that I did want!!! That sooooo made my day! And Brianna, and Candice and Natasha helped me to get them checked in and out. Thank you guys!! read more

i came in just a couple days ago to buy about $80- $100 worth of product, i walk in find exactly what i need and head to the counter.... the young girl working proceeds to look me up and down, (probablly because i was a bit hung over sporting that lovely morning after look) anyways she had a very bitchy tone and asked for my cosmo prof card which i had w me but turns out it was expired she then told me she couldnt sell me the product because i didnt have my license and my cosmo prof card was expired.... she ripped the card up in front of my face and pulled all of the product closer to her and put it behind the counter, i told her i was on my boss's cosmo prof account and she wouldnt look it up because i didnt have my license..... my blood was boiling.... she's now preventing me from doing my clients hair that day, denyiing me the product that i need, and not working w me as a customer... im a licensced hairdresser dammit! what more do i need to prove? i had my card so what if its expired look me up in your system! she asked me if i wanted to put my product on hold... wen the store closed in like an hour and i dont live close by...no thanx! i walked out and i was piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiist! never going back!!! read more
