I went to Sephora on Mother's Day with my daughter and unfortunately had a disappointing experience with one of the employees. I asked if they had a certain lipstick shade my daughter was looking for, and he opened a drawer, quickly closed it, and told us they didn't have it. After he walked away, I checked the drawer myself and the shade was actually there. I also asked about my free birthday gift, and he told me it was only available during your birthday month. But when I got to the register, the cashier immediately told me I still had my free birthday gift available. The misinformation and rude attitude really took away from what should've been a fun Mother's Day shopping trip. Thankfully the cashier was much more helpful and kind. read more

Today I went into get my brows done by Daisy , this was the first time I have had Sephora do them and Daisy did an excellent job, her expertise on brows made my face really pop .Daisy recommended for me to get my hair done by the Dyson rep that was in for the day . I decided why not and I met Bree the Dyson rep she was fantastic so informative about the product and even helped me understand how to use mine that I have previously purchased better . I was unaware of all the products that Dyson came out with they are a must buy they help set your hair better before use the curl extension to set hair . They also carry shampoo and conditioner from Dyson which I was unaware . I was very pampered because I was also offered a mini facial from the Elemis rep he was so kind and made my skin glow ! We were so fortunate to have Gerry helping us find what we needed! She really went above and beyond for us. I don't understand why this location has such rude customer service. I came to pick up my order that was ready the night prior at the opening this Saturday morning. It was 10 AM on the dot and they were locked. The doors were not open. I was standing outside, wondering what was happening. This girl comes and unlock the door and I'm thinking she's trying to let me in but no! She informs me that I need to stand back and wait until she takes out the signage and opens the doors by that time it was already 10:05. And then when I get to the counter, they're confused because I have a pick up order and they have the audacity to ask me if it's ready to be picked up, what kind of a question is that just because I'm there at 10 AM "early" my order was ready the night prior. Like I'm here early waiting for you to open the door and then you're gonna be rude to me telling me to wait even though operation hours are from 10 AM and it's 10:05 and you're telling me to wait and then you're asking me if my order is ready for pick up!? Terrible shopping experience because.. 1. NO air conditioning or circulation. According to the staff it's been broken for months. How is that acceptable in such a high-end location? 2. 100% claustrophobic. They literally couldn't fit one more lipstick tube if they tried. So crowded and overwhelming a person just gives up. 3. Misleading stock. Online it says in stock. In person the staff say they don't carry it in the store. 4. Being stocked by the staff as you look around. Made me wonder if they are competing with each other for commissions. The staff are super nice and helpful. The experience is the management's fault - not the staff. I just had a great experience with an employee called Jerry (but a girl). I don't buy makeup or skincare products very often, but I had to for a media experience. She was friendly, patient, and helpful. She seemed to know more about make-up than many make-up artists I've known over the years. Plus, she recommended some great products to help my skin. I dreaded going into the store, but she made me feel comfortable, put me at-ease, and even had me laughing by the end. I easily get smothered so that being said. This is one of the best organized Sephora stores in S CA. It is much bigger and alot more to look at. Strangely the last time I was in their, oh, about a month ago. I saw a grown- up woman that was opening containers. Even when, we were, all told no one can touch nothing. Well, shame on her. The one employee working the cashier was arguing with a customer over something, so it took a long time to check out. When I finally did, the cashier was super unfriendly. Needed a color match and had to confront someone to ask for help and was told to wait, waited for 15 min, still no help and had to confront them again only for them to say "sorry let me pull someone else" (took an extra 5 min for them to pull someone). That other staff had no idea how to color match and kept using words like "um" and "I think". Went to pay afterwards but no one was at the cashier, staff made eye contact with me but would not come until I waved them over. Absolutely hated it here. read more

This Sephora is the best in this area, it's where I find all the "paintings" I need for my face!! Which I think is a canvas to paint on! I searched all over n finally found it wow in my backyard! at Sephora n it's only $10, there's some store that sells a French product but it's like $35 n it didn't have Ginseng in it. My 11 year old son came into Sephora today to buy a lip gloss for a friend & paid with cash. He gave a $50 bill & was given back a fake $20 bill along with the rest of his change($1's)...he of course found out that the $20 he was given back at Sephora was fake when he went to buy candy later at a different store...I came down to Sephora to speak with a manager in hopes that they would make this right & sadly LESLIE their manager was so rude & disrespectful & no help! I asked to have the video footage pulled of course she wouldn't do that...I have called their coorporate office & again no help. So sad a huge franchise like this protects such bad employees & treats their customers with such awful customer service. I have been in customer service for over 25 years it's just really really sad. Got a 60$ makeover in Dec. bummed to find out they no longer give you 60$ credit toward makeup but whatever. The makeover looked good and natural... but when I went to buy the exact things she used the artist said that all of the products she used on me color wise weren't in stock... so she pulled items that were close. Not knowing much about makeup I bought what she pulled. Fast forward to Christmas Day when I followed her instructions to a tee and used the makeup purchased-over 200$ worth. My entire family nicely said I looked horrible and that the tint was too yellow and weird. Basically they all asked why in the world would I use those colors when my usual makeup was nice. Move to today. Went to Sephora to get a refund. Because I was one day passed the 30 return they gave me store credit only BUT YOU CANT USE IT ONLINE -only in store. SEPHORA ONLINE AND SEPHORA INSTORE ARE 2 DIFFERENT GROUPS. The items I wanted were still not in stock. WTH? Also they refused to refund the 60$ for the makeover because it too is a "different skew" not Sephora in store... only offer was to call customer service. Not very helpful and refused to give me management name of the store. I use to love Sephora pre 2019. They had a great makeover that you could use the cost towards product. NOT ANYMORE. You could use store credit in store or online NOT ANYMORE. They use to have great customer service NOT ANYMORE. BEWARE BUYING ANYTHING AT SEPHORA. Their policies have changed for the worse and the services they use to provide are no longer. After another 15 minute of waiting. I had to ask again. After picking two of the large sizes of CHANNEL and VALENTINO they did Not even have them after I tried there sample bottles. I really like this Sephora! Before finding this location, I had typically gone to the Sephora at South Coast Plaza. This location at Pacific City is small and feels personal. Both times I've visited here, I was greeted and asked if I needed help. They weren't pushy or hovering at all, which I appreciated. I can see why parking can be a deterrent to folks if they're just planning on browsing and not set on purchasing anything. But if you know for sure you will be purchasing something at Sephora, they do offer full validation and they ask when you check-out. I haven't returned anything here or needed anything to be price-matches so I can't speak on that personally (I'm seeing some of the other reviews that had bad experiences because of this), but at least for purchasing items at the check-out counter and swatching products - I've had no issues. (FWIW, I've returned products and asked things to be price-matched at the Sephora @ South Coast Plaza and have never had any issues there.) Happy shopping :) read more

I've been to this Sephora twice, and was greeted so warmly each time. The salespeople are helpful. The testers are clean and abundant. I recently bought an expensive eyelash curler from sephora.com, and after trying it a week or so I reluctantly looked up the return policy. You can return things at any physical store! I wanted to exchange it for an item that was only available online, so I was bummed. The helpful associate told me she could order it and it would be shipped free! Parking garage is free for 2 hours with validation. Pacific City is a hop and a skip away from the pier, so take advantage of the awesome views!
