A couple caveats to be aware of: 50/50 chance your food will take an extremely long time to prepare(30-45m) for a basic order with an empty restaurant and don't be surprised if it's cold and/or prepared incorrectly. Service is typically poor expect one or more if the following: incorrect orders, salads brought out with entree, rude service, and billing errors. Whatever you do, don't order the Au Jus with a roast beef sandwich it's a pathetic version of a French onion soup a very disappointing discovery. We are foodies in my family. We know good food. We had fried pickles, Irish nachos, and a carpet bagger sandwich that came with the best macaroni salad ever. The only slight is the canned chili on the nachos. Everything was pretty delicious. I can't have dairy ice cream so desert was out of the question. Probably no room for it anyhow. Met a friend for lunch here and was amazed by the selection! The weather was nice so we opted for outdoor seating and was so glad we did. Had a great view of downtown bustle, art, and passerby. Restaurant was beautifully laid out and comfortable. Service was great, though not very knowledgeable about the selections. Sweet tea was excellent (very important round here) as was the food. I had an tasty sandwich called the Stallone served on ciabatta and it was perfect. Friend had the chicken salad which will probably be my next choice for lunch. Good portions, reasonable prices. We are in town for travel volleyball. Macados seemed like the place to eat on the internet. It was very slow for Friday night at 9 PM. We were seated and brought drinks. We ordered an appetizer that took quite a bit of time to get to us. In the meantime, we ordered our dinner. After what seemed like an inordinate amount of time my hot dog came out cold. My wife's dinner (fish and chips) never arrived. After approximately one hour, we had to leave so that our daughter could get in bed. The waitress informed us that everyone in the kitchen was "on Snapchat". We did observe the other the waitstaff standing around doing nothing. We were allowed to leave the restaurant without speaking to a manager Or being offered another selection choice or anything. We never got a straight answer as to why my wife's food never arrived. It's suffices to say that this was our first and last visit. Manager, if you read this please realize that one dissatisfied customer will tell a minimum of 14 people about his or her bad experience. This was the hotels first recommendation when I asked for a local place and they were spot on. I travel for work and eat at a lot of different places but this was one of the best burgers I've ever had. I had the bacon, egg and cheese burger and it was amazing. The meat was cooked perfectly and the bun was soft and tasted great. I meant to take a picture but once I started eating I forgot all about it. Came for lunch. Arrived at 12:40. It's now 1:45 and we haven't even seen our food. Had the fried pickles for an appetizer, which were decent. Service is suuuuper slow and everything feels extremely disorganized. A waitress (not ours) came over with a pitcher to refill our kids glasses with water. When she realized that they all had had chocolate milk and needed new glasses for water, she left and never came back. We have now all passed the hungry point and just want to leave. Still no sign of our food..... ** FOLLOW UP: The manager contacted me, wanted to hear about our experience in order to make things better, offered to take care of our check (which I appreciated but refused), and promised that they will make changes and improvements. I heard a lot about this place when I traveled to Kingsport recently so I came to try it and was disappointed. The waiter smelled like marijuana, which is not something I want to smell when I come to order dinner. They took forever to bring out our food, despite the fact that there was only one other table of customers. The waiter finally brought out half the tables food, and the other half's didn't come out until 10-15 minutes later. I ordered the Kanoder wrap, and it was good, except that it was supposed to have avocado in it and in the wrap I received there was no avocado. The prices were good, not too expensive. Overall, it wasn't worth the hype; I would probably go again if I went back to Kingsport, but only because there are hardly any other options. read more

I went today with my family for lunch and the whole thing took about 2 hours. Which is crazy for lunch. At outback we had a 40 min table turn limit for lunch and yes that includes well done steaks. When we asked what was taking so long the waitress said "well done burgers take extra time" and the burger in question was requested medium well not well so it was definitely over cooked. The waitresses were mostly nice but got defensive and irritated and made excuses. There were 6 tables in the building the whole time we were there so no, they were not busy. If 1 cook and 2 servers can't handle 6 tables in 2 hours they're definitely doing something wrong. We won't be back which is a sad because I love the food there. :( read more

We visited from out of town. The service was terrible. It took over 30 minutes to get a drink, then they were out of ingredients for the drink ordered. So it took 15 minutes to get another drink, that was nasty. They were out of fries. The sandwiches were mediocre. Then it took over 20 minutes to find the waiter to get our ticket. Check your bill closely.....hard to get a refund after you leave. The waiter seemed more interested in getting our meal over than providing good service. After the meal I paid and left. The next day I reviewed the bill and noticed an $8 overcharge. The manager said he couldn't give a refund but he could ask the corporate office to send me a gift card. They should agree. I called corporate and they acknowledge the overcharge and after an investigation they will attempt to give a refund....They said "Call us back if you don't get it".... The food was good but the service was only mediocre. We got sandwiches and boneless wings with macaroni salad and potato salad. My sandwich was the Tippecanoe club sandwich and it was HUGE! My problem was I needed extra mayo and our waitress had disappeared. My husband got up and asked two other wait people for help and after approximately 10 minutes I got my mayo. Our waitress had gone in the kitchen "to help catch up with the dishes"!!! It was so frustrating I felt like crying. No manager came around to ask how we were except before we got our sandwiches. My husband's sandwich was the chicken club which also needed mayo btw. I'm not sure how to solve the condiment problem except to ask for it when you order. So with little other options, we decided to try it out. Its on a cute little street and when you walk in you're surrounded by memorabilia. I have eaten at Macado's a few times recently with a couple friends and have found all the food I had very good, worth the price, and it is accompanied by excellent and friendly service from the staff. The best deal there is the boneless chicken wings, that come in a variety of flavors including the hot buffalo that I usually order with lots of blue cheese dressing, that are just 39 cents per piece on Thursdays. And the boneless chicken wings are big pieces of very high quality breast meat chicken, not the small almost bite-sized pieces some places serve and call them boneless chicken wings. The buffalo chicken are among the best in town and they serve with them the chunkiest and most delicious blue cheese dressing. An order of 12 boneless wings and sauce with drink and about a 20 percent tip comes to about ten bucks. One of the highest quality for the lowest price lunch deals in town. The menu is very overwhelming your first time eating here. There are quite a few options to choose from. The sandwich that I ended up choosing (Macado Flyer) was very tasty. I have no doubt all of the other selections would be just as good. Our waitress didn't seem to know the prices of up charges. Met a friend here for dinner on a Saturday evening after hearing the food was really tasty. There were so many delicious sounding choices (the menu is huge)! I ordered the shrimp tacos, and my friend ordered the Mona Lisa. The service, however, was horrible. Our waitress was clearly in a hurry seeing as the minute we sat down, she asked if we knew what we wanted to eat (not drink) and was incredibly unfriendly. Our appetizer, drinks, and entrées came out pretty quickly and were delicious! After we had been eating for only about 10 minutes, our waitress brought us our checks. I have never felt so rushed to eat at a restaurant! We never received any drink refills, and she only came back to collect the check. If I ever eat here again, I will order my food to go! read more

Will not be back! Have tried several different times since they opened and they do NOT have it together. Service is ALWAYS slow, despite not being crowded. Last time their fryer didn't work so no fries or homemade chips. This time they were out of fries, homemade chips and fruit cup. Since they only had bagged chips or slaw I asked for onion rings w/ a side of the onion dip that comes with the homemade chips. The waiter informed me I would get 3 onion rings. Got a big daddy asked for no mushrooms or tomatoes so some how that translated to take everything off of it. The potato salad had no flavor @ all. Mixed up some potatoes and mayo and that's about it. The pastrami was just a big sandwich full of fat and about 5% actual meat. Last night, which was Feb 24, 2018 my wife and I went Macado's. We sit at our table for 1hr and 10 min before anyone even acknowledged us. Finally a manager came by and asked us if we had been waited on, we answered no, and told him there had been a waitress and waiter both walk by us several times and never said a word.
