Bought an 83k truck, had Chip for a salesman. The sale was great experience in and out no issues. at home noticed fender and door alignment issue and chip in paint. Brought back was promised they would deal with Ford fix the truck. No communication I had to call and email. Emailed Chip to ask for help getting my brand-new truck fixed, he never even emailed me back. I was left to run around for estimates for them. After almost a month I went to another Ford dealer who took care of my issues. Been 2 months still haven't heard from anyone there. read more

I bought a car from Macdonald motors in Conway NH in December 2022 then traded it in in April 2023 . I bought the Extended warranty for 2800$ and have called them multiple times as well as stopped there three times in order to get my REFUND OWED. This is a reputable dealership. The salesman, Chip, was very patient in answering my many questions. I had been car shopping for several weeks and ended up not buying from MacDonalds, but not because of the dealership or the price of the car. Sales staff was great. Found the car I wanted on their website, called in the morning to make an appointment to see and drive it. Drove in slightly late for our appointment (road construction delays) but they had the car out front and running. A quick nod that I have the same car already and wanted a second and was familiar with it's operation and function, they scanned my driver's license and sent me off on my own to test drive. Was great not to have a salesman making conversation while you are really trying to listen and feel the car running. Within two hours they had all my paperwork completed, financed, and my insurance binder was complete and they printed cards for me to put in the car to go. While processing paperwork they realized we had two of our dogs with us. They welcomed them inside, filled a water bowl for them and everyone came by to get a fluff. This was such a smooth transaction. I wish I lived closer to take advantage of their sevice options. Regardless of the distance, they assured us that we were welcome to come in anytime and they offer free loaners if necessary. Will definately keep this in mind. I often write a review as my only recourse after receiving horrible service. I absolutely love writing positive reviews! Sadly, there are so few services that get things right the first time. Twice I've been to MacDonald's Motors, and twice they've done excellent work. I have a Ford F-350 Lariat with a wiring harness that Safelite AutoGlass in Portland, ME sliced through during a windshield replacement. MacDonald's Motors fixed the extensive damage like the pros they are! If I weren't smarter, they'd almost restore my belief in humanity, lol. They're that good. read more

I usually change my own oil/rotate my tires since I have had so many bad experiences (oil cap left off, wrong filter, washer left off, not full of oil, lug nuts not tight, etc), so I was leery, but being in temporary housing having moved from Texas I had little choice, and was happily surprised by the fine folks here at Madonald Motors. Everything was done correctly, it was nice and clean, and they even left my seat in its original position, all while charging me less than half what I was quoted by a dealer in Texas just before leaving. I am from Miami, Florida, but I have been spending my summers in Maine for over 45 years. When I was younger my father kept a Jeep at our cabin. He bought it and had it serviced exclusively at Macdonald Motors. Moreover, he repeatedly pointed out to me that their service and attitude were the very reasons he kept coming back. About 12 years ago my father passed...and unfortunately the cabin had to be sold. Nevertheless, I returned with my wife and we built a new cabin-in part to honor my father, and as a way to give our sons a little of what my father and Maine gave me: time well spent in a place that is close to nature and far from the greed and deceit of Miami. Yes, I am going somewhere with this... Macdonald Motors and the Macdonald family are a large part of what I love about Maine - integrity. In this case exemplified by honest work at fair prices. And I, like my father before me, bought my Jeep there and have it serviced there. In fact, I drive it to and from Miami every summer...and every summer it spends time getting serviced at Macdonald Motors. Moreover, I recently passed a set of keys to the cabin to my son, and he just bought his Jeep from them...and so it continues. My highest recommendation. read more

The service department is fantastic! I live in MA and have a cabin near North Conway, it's about a three hour drive and somewhere between home and Conway I got a large screw in my tire. I had the spare put on but at 10pm on a Friday there was not much I could do. I called Macdonald around 9am the next morning and explained my situation. I had to drive back to MA on Sunday and was not comfortable doing that on a spare, they had me come in around 10am. Within about 30 minutes of walking in, Rick the service manager and the mechanic had me on my way after repairing my tire, and checking the others. It's very comforting to know I have a dealer so close to my "second" home that I feel comfortable with and took the time out of what looked like a busy morning (considering they close at 12) to help me with my trouble. read more

Their motto real nice, keeping the customer happy... However their dealings with a friend of mine over a windstar recall buy back and taking them out of the rental car after promissing they could keep it until they get their check in 5-7 days... it now been 21 days... Happy customers I THINK NOT !!! MM need to give the rental back or give them the check for the buy back. of the WINDSTAR that has been deemed unsafe for the road by Ford Motor Co. This Family has many serious health issues and needs to get to DR appointments and that could be a matter of life or death for them. Macdonald Motors needs to be told to STAND BY THEIR WORD . I'm lending my friends my car because my friends are like family to me... My action is way louder than MM's empty promisses... I would never trust the word or any written contract about anything Macdonald Motors would give you....The current ad on MM says come buy a car from us and join our family... Is this how they treat someone they want to call family ??? After you are stupid enough to buy a vehicle from them will they know or care about you ? I don't think so !!!! read more
