This trip was prompted when I spotted a little tranny fluid on the driveway under my Corvette. Dropped it off with a friend to pick me up. He even had Brian take a test drive to put Kevin's mind at ease about a noise coming from his high-milage minivan...NO CHARGE!. My Vette, not so lucky. The original 38-year-old rear seal was failing. Mark and Brian's accurate diagnosis caught the problem early enough to potentially save me $1000's in future repair costs. Also found an exhaust leak and recommended a couple local shops to get estimates to have that welded. Don't have to visit C&M often but when I do the service and turnaround time always meets my expectations by exceeding my needs.

The shop rarely answers the phone and when I do get through, I'm given vague or shifting timelines about when the job will be finished. I've had to call repeatedly just to get basic updates. A transmission repair can take time, but clear communication is the least a customer should expect. Unfortunately, that hasn't been my experience. I would not recommend this shop to anyone who values honest updates and timely service.

Transmissions 4 Less was the other place I went too and I'm glad I did. Carlo explained their rebuilding process step by step showing me the parts he would be using and what they did in the transmission. The other transmission shops I had requested a consult from we're booked out fully so I decided to give this shop a try. They told me I needed my transmission rebuilt and quoted me at 2,000$. A couple weeks after i got my vehicle back the car began having the same exact issues as when I brought it in. I asked them to take another look at the car and they literally told me "we don't know what the issue is". They returned it and it drove fine for a week before it once again began having issues. I took it elsewhere and was informed that I actually had a brake issue and it had nothing at all to do with my transmission.... DO NOT GO HERE. I have no idea if they even worked on my transmission... awful experience, save yourself some time and money and take your business elsewhere.

So we looked on YELP and Next Door and decided to have a mechanic check her out. At Lou's we encountered the rare species of an honest mechanic. He checked out the little problem and said "I could begin replacing things but I'm not sure that would solve the issue." He then advised us to hold off for a while. My husband was so impressed...especially since with our other car at home the dealer forces us to spend a fortune on stuff we don't need or they will "void the warranty."
