We keep an old but beloved Lexus here when we come to escape some winter weeks in our hometown. Like most old things the Lexus has little problems. So we looked on YELP and Next Door and decided to have a mechanic check her out. At Lou's we encountered the rare species of an honest mechanic. He checked out the little problem and said "I could begin replacing things but I'm not sure that would solve the issue." He then advised us to hold off for a while. My husband was so impressed...especially since with our other car at home the dealer forces us to spend a fortune on stuff we don't need or they will "void the warranty." Very honest place. Took my Kia Soul in. It was running rough. Dave the owner checked it over at no charge. They fixed my car. It is running perfectly now. Very reasonable. Very Honest and Excellent Work. I have had no problems. Did not try to sell me things I did not need. In fact quite the opposite, told me my brakes were still good and so were my shocks. My car was ready when they told it would be. I took it to another place before this and they wanted almost double to fix it. They recommended work I did not need. Dave the owner is a huge dog lover. I can't find words sufficient to describe how pleased I was with the service at Lou's. Dave, who bought the garage from Lou (Lou is still there) did some fairly major work on my car. I picked it up after hours and there were some significant problems. I emailed Dave, he came out on a Sunday morning to my home, worked on the car, thought everything was okay, but didn't want me driving it alone until he was sure. He took me to the airport, rented me a car, took my car back to the shop, worked on it and took two days to make absolutely sure it was okay. He and his mechanics are knowledgeable and their work is, as far as i can tell, safe and reliable. I've had Lou do basic maintenance, brakes, brake lines and a couple of other small projects. Had my entire front brake system replaced at Lou's. Fair price and excellent mechanics.

I had check my brake pads at home because I had a rubbing noise as well as a tapping noise coming from my front left wheel. It was then realized pads also needed to be replaced. One of my brake pads had a crack in them and this was going to be a bigger problem then I could solve myself. I took my Chevy 2500 to Lou and he was able to find the cause of the cracked brake pad as well as the reason for the noise. This is no easy task for your average mechanic. Lou, was great at keeping me informed through out the day of the repair and showed me the damaged parts. Highly recommend Lou's Automotive. read more

Great service from this shop. Lou is knowledgeable, communicative and his prices are fair. Work is done on time and done well. He diagnosed and fixed a faulty thermostat and did a coolant flush (my car is 10 years old with high miles) and the car made it through heavy summer commuting without a hitch.
