I understand why this place gets so many great reviews. Located in the Shallowford shopping plaza with Publix near the highway. Plenty of parking. Seating: even though seating is limited, you can sit at the bar or at a table. Staff: superb. Very pleasant. Food: came out rather quickly. I had the chicken fajitas. Went during lunch time. And it was $10.99. Great portion. I love when an establishment charges differently between lunch and dinner. Taste was good. Wasnt salty of overly flavored. Decent portion size. Menu: is typical. Checkout: contactless Decor: nice, clean and several TVs. I will be back to try other menu items. read more

So happy to have tried this new Taco spot. I'd say these were tasty. We tried three typed: Asada (Steak), Chicken, and Chochinita (Pulld Pork) My favorite was the Chicken Taco. Others preferred the Chochinita-- I was told that's the most popular one too. They were tasty tacos and seemed authentic! I was not a fan of the flavors of the Asada Taco. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I'd go back if I was in the mood for fast, easy Tacos one night. read more

Many thanks to whoever made this recommendation, because I instantly fell in love with Machete. The food was outstanding, and service was impeccable. Staff her worked hard enough to warrant white-glove service. They spared no effort to make sure we were well taken care of. Did I mention the food? There's a lot more than tacos going on here. My wife had the enchiladas rojas. Absolutely delicious combination of beef and their red sauce was outstanding. Staff was able to accommodate her desire to avoid anything too spicy. She loved that dish. I had the pollo con champiñones. Good ol' chicken with mushrooms. Delicious. And the portion was huge. Totally hit the spot. Machete is in a strip mall, but the inside is very clean, well-appointed, and comfortable. You can sit at the bar if you like. You might find me there. read more

Food was good...not great, but good. Freshly prepared. Reasonable portions--not small but definitely not oversized either. Biggest plus--the staff was VERY friendly and helpful. They didn't have a lot to offer my vegetarian wife on the menu (basically three entrees and two starters) but were willing to customize whatever we wanted. The service was actually good enough I think it could have made up for bad food if that's what we were serving! Ambiance was quaint. About 9 tables. Nothing special but clean and friendly. read more

Great addition to the neighborhood! Chicken fajitas were well-seasoned with tasty onions and green bell peppers. Fresh pico, refried beans with cheese, and moist corn tortillas were great compliments to the fajitas. Vegetarian enchiladas had fresh vegetables, and we modified to have with a red sauce. Fish taco was fresh tasting and came with cabbage slaw and mild green salsa and spicy red salsa. Elote came coated with Parmesan cheese and spices. We will be coming back soon! read more

The steak quesadilla tasted like it had kraft yellow cheese on it. It was so bad, no lie. The asada taco was dry...like really really dry. I was driving by and noticed their Machete sign, so swung around to give it a try. The spot is new and we were instantly greeted by the Owner or maybe Manager. He gave us a run down of the place. We ordered a few different tacos - chicken, fish, shrimp, and pork. They were all prepped with obviously fresh ingredients and had a great crunch! I only recently found this gem of a restaurant. It's a cozy place so get there early for lunch, but, if you don't, you will find the wait is worth it. The food is exceptional, the owner is hands on, the service staff doesn't miss anything. The prices are very normal, especially in these times. My friend and I went for a taco Tuesday and we definitely were not disappointed. We will be back. Please support this neighborhood restaurant! read more

We were skeptical at first, because the restaurant name didn't sound like the food would be authentic, but we were greeted with friendly faces and were offered a sit-in deal. It just happened to be Tuesday, so we got the Taco Tuesday specials ($2.50/taco), but you only get the deal if you dine in. The music was genuinely enjoyable and the place looked clean and welcoming! 100% recommend this spot! We had the JUICIEST elotes (street corn) we've literally ever had (I mean juice squirted all over my boyfriend's face ) It was a delightful and unexpected, and spontaneous experience. Placed a mobile order via Yelp and the corn was so dry! I find it hard to believe the corn was prepared the same day, not a drop of juice in it and it had begun to shrivel up badly. Tacos were dry as well! The week before my order it was perfect...which is why I placed a group order and invited my colleagues to try it as well. The food was not good at all this visit and I really felt bad for wasting my co-workers money. I could tell they were as 'underwhelmed' as I was. It was a huge difference from the week before. I was really excited to have this restaurant in the neighborhood, I live 5 mins away but I won't be going back. We threw almost all of it in the trash except for a few bites and we only ate that bc we were all starving. BEWARE!! this place is right down the street from where I live and when I ordered carry out, the guy added a $5.00 charge to the carry out bill. WHAT?? I walk in and say hey, there must be something wrong because the math on my bill does not add up. The guy then proceeds to shove the receipt in front of me, and says, yeah,, its thirty dollars..like there it is, so pay it. My response, is why? What is that for? The reply was, "well, we ARE a DINE IN ESTABLISHMENT and we promote THAT.." In other words NOT what you are doing. My response was, "well, its not a very big dining area in here, there are not that many tables. I should have turned and walked out, but I am not that mean. He says "It's normal now to add that.. because that is what places are doing now.. I was BEYOND LIVID.. and told him that I WOULD NOT BE BACK, and to enjoy the five dollars. I was excited to have a taco place right by the house and I am disappointed beyond belief. read more
