Went here after porchfest a couple weeks ago and boy was it what I needed. The food was amazing. I ate up the queso and salsa they give you as an appetizer. The queso was so fresh I felt like it could have passed for fondue. I ate a lot of it also due to it taking awhile to get our food. I can't complain too much because they are extremely busy and I got that impression from the last time we tried to come here during cinco de mayo and there were people eating outside. Maybe a bigger establishment would help ease the congestion. It is a tight place inside with what looked like only one room to seat people. Note: do not come here if you want a fast and quick meal. They are a hot commodity given their authentic made to order food. My steak enchiladas were nicely cooked with barely any fat on the meat. I look forward to coming here again.

I know this place has been around for awhile and every time I drive by it, I've always said that we should try. Well today happened to be that day and it did not disappoint. They have a few parking spots in front of the building and if I'm not mistaken, you could also park across the street? The place isn't very big but they do have 2 floors. We waited for the hostess so she could seat us and ended up sitting in the basement. As soon as we sat down, chips and salsa were placed on our table. When our server came to our table, we placed our order. My hubby got a mezcal tequila that he enjoyed. We were lucky to still catch their lunch special - yes, they have it on the weekends. I got the chicken chimichangas which I enjoyed. I'm glad it was a smaller sized burrito though. We also shared the guacamole and this was a different take because you mixed it yourself. We enjoyed this meal and would be back for more.

Lots of Mexican places to choose in this area and I'm so glad we decided to go here. I literally could have just eaten the chips and salsa which come with the meal. The service was great too. Very fun and festive environment. Small bar area. I didn't have a chance to take food pictures but the chicken and shrimp tacos were delicious and the tomales were very authentic.

This no frills restaurant ALWAYS delivers the best Mexican food in Atlanta. The service is friendly and helpful and the food is absolutely delicious. If you're looking for a swanky place, this is not it, but if you're looking for absolutely scrumptious food, you've hit the jackpot. I've been going to this place for over 20 years and it never fails to impress.

Authentic Mexican Food with HUGE HELPINGS...the food was good but others in my party complained because it was not pipping hot but it was still good. Our server was polite and helpful. He was attentive and made sure we were good because we were celebrating 2 birthdays in our party It's a small establishment tucked away in the corner on Chattahoochee but it's popular. A few people from my church suggested this place. It has a huge following. One of the best in Atlanta

I stopped by Nuevo Laredo Cantina with a large group (12 or so people) after a sports tournament and it absolutely hit the spot! Our group was quickly accommodated on a Sunday night without a reservation, and we were served promptly. I got the mango margarita with a sugar rim, which was amazingly sweet (exactly what I wanted!) and had some of their complimentary chips and salsa, which were perfectly crispy and salty. I ordered the enchiladas de pollo con mole and they were great. It seemed to come with 2 enchiladas, and a side of rice, beans, and lettuce and tomato. It hit the spot! A bit smaller of a portion of the enchiladas than I am used to but still plenty of food, and well worth it for the price. I finished my meal with tres leches, which was phenomenal. The seasoning on top was great, and the cake was perfectly soaked with the milk. Service was super nice and quick. The parking area seemed plentiful as there was extra parking across the street.

A great cinco de mayo celebration! We definitely chose the correct venue to have a great time and great food! There was a bar set up outside to make waiting for a table bearable! With margaritas, chips and salsa! The staff was super friendly and inviting. They gave solid suggestions. And even let us try the brisket before buying! I think I prefer the skinny marg overall- it is made fresh and es fuerte! I had 3! The food is very tasty. They are known for their Mexican brisket BBQ. And it is def flavorful. The flavor is dense and I think has a vinegar base.

I've been eating here I know for at least 25 years. The Mexican food here is representative of the style of food prepared in the Tamaulipas region of Mexico. I can totally recommend the Brisket Tacos, or another personal fave the Shrimp Tacos... today I stopped in for lunch and had two soft beef tacos with rice and beans - the service here is reliably good - many of the servers have been here for years and are like friends because I've seen them so many times over the years. I love the quirky decor, and the intimate feel of the place - it feels cozy, warm and inviting. If you come to any restaurant enough you will catch them on a day where they have a "miss" - but they will do their best to make it up to you - just say something. The Salsa is fantastic too - and I forgot to mention another fave - LOL- the spinach and mushroom quesadilla. Stop in and enjoy.

Ugh. I was so excited to try this. It looks so cute on the outside, and it's also cute on the inside. We sat down, were greeted promptly, took our drink order and queso, all were back within 3 minutes or so. My boyfriend ordered quesadillas with no onion or peppers and there were lots of onions and peppers inside. I got 2 tacos, they were carne asada and neither street tacos nor fajita tacos, very odd and felt overly seasoned in a Taco Bell seasoning pack kind of way. I have had really good Tex mex and Mexican food, but that was neither. The service was fine, our server was nice, and it wasn't expensive. I am disappointed that we spent $50 for food that we didn't eat though, and my stomach is hurting.

A hidden gem! We moved to the area recently and have already been 3 times! We love the Texas Margarita and the brisket quesadilla. We love bringing friends here when they visit. The ambience is really fun! They are great at accommodating to a big group and have amazing service.

Birthday celebration dinner for teenage son and friends

My husband and I brought my teenage son for his first visit with his friends to celebrate his birthday. Staff is super competent and welcoming. Our drinks were refilled numerous times and the free chips and salsa were amazing. We also got the queso which was delicious. My son and friend split the beef fajitas with an extra order of flour tortillas, other friend got chicken enchiladas, my husband ordered the shrimp barbacoa, and I tried the Holy Tacsos, a vegetarian dish which was unique to me and delicious. The staff came with a big sombrero hat for my son and sang him Happy Birthdya in Spanish and a free dessert with birthday candle which I loved. Thanks for a fabulous birthday dinner for my teen!

One of the oldest, best true authentic Mexican food. The food, the service and overall ambiance is just so great. Went for a lunch on a working day. Make sure to reach there by 11am if don't want to wait. The place is super crowded - both levels just because it's so famous and so good. You will see the pictures all over of all the famous people who came to eat here. Great chips and salsa and my friend ordered queso and a pork side .. mix of these two with chips was so yummy. I ordered 3 salmon tacos -- the best I have ever had !! Super good ! Great place with the best food !!

Salsa was really good but the food is bland. Way overrated. Much better places than this. Not worth the hype.

We tried the La Piñata and the Smokey Old Fashioned, which arrived in a dramatic smoke dome--such a fun presentation. For our first bites, we ordered the Tostadas: handmade corn tostadas served with both red and green avocado sauces. They were fresh, vibrant, and a perfect start to the meal. Our main courses were equally impressive. The Short Rib with Mole Amarillo came with pickled habanero onions, rice, and plantains--rich, tender, and beautifully balanced. We also enjoyed the Arrachera, an outside skirt steak served with sautéed onions, chimichurri, rustic potatoes, and a bouquet salad. Every dish was plated beautifully and tasted exceptional. Our server, Dalia, made the experience even better. She was warm, knowledgeable, and attentive--always appearing at just the right moment, whether to refill our water or guide us through the menu. Overall, it was another amazing visit. We go there often and have never been disappointed.

This is my second time here and both times have been so good. We came as a party of 3 and left so happy and full. I love Mexican food holy moly We got the queso and octopus shrimp ceviche as starters. The queso was 3 cheeses: American, cotija, and Oaxacan. They heated it up under a salamander so it was nice and crispy on top, while being gooey all throughout. Also came with a couple of nice salsas. The ceviche was not my favorite because I don't prefer raw(ish) octopus, but the squid ink sauce was very flavorful. For our mains the 3 of us shared the red snapper, tuetano with lamb, and the mixteco poblano pepper. Red snapper had a nice charred smoky flavor from being grilled. Was more meaty than flaky in texture. It was our second time getting the mixteco poblano pepper and it hits. Highly recommend eating with some of the salsa as well if you get queso. The duck carnitas in it wasn't particularly duck-y today, but still very good. Best dish is definitely the tuetano. The bone marrow is so incredibly flavorful with the blue corn tortillas. Add some of the pickled onions and it's hard to go wrong with that flavor combo of salt, fat, and acid. if you're going to order one thing, I'd order this and share with a friend and tbh it's enough to be filling. For dessert we got the volcan de chocolate (basically lava cake). The lava cake and coconut ice cream combo is fantastic. You get bits of coconut flakes as you eat! Fair warning it isn't the brownie texture you may be used to, it's a bit more cakey. Amazing service the whole night! Almost got our cars booted because we forgot to validate until 1.5 hours in but luckily we were fine. The staff let us know they have been booting cars though so be wary!

I came with a large group around 12:30pm and ordered off of the lunch menu, but for some reason was the only person at the table that was charged for a dinner plate and received a dinner portion. I ordered the cauliflower tacos and paid $40. I didn't get full from the tacos, but I stopped eating them because they weren't very appetizing. The cauliflower was very crunchy, lacked seasoning, and didn't really go well with the taco. Their bottomless chips and salsa were great though. The chips are so light and have the perfect crunch. The only issue is that since we had such a large group, the chips were finished about 10 minutes after we sat down and were never refilled, so we all kinda sat picking at the crumbs. While I didn't order the salad, many people that I was with did and it looked good. I am unsure of our servers name, but she was nice. She did fine for our 10 person table; She forgot to grab different drinks and refills but overall she was good, very friendly. We were sat outside, which half of us didn't know there as outdoor seating, but I would totally recommend. The weather was great, it wasn't loud nor crowded, and there weren't many bugs or anything. Overall, the food seems good, I just wouldn't recommend that a vegetarian or vegan goes here due to the very limited options.
