Macintosh Electric came to my rescue one night when the very old electric panel in my basement was arcing and shooting sparks. I was frantic and terrified. Every local electrician I called was closed, but I found the Macintosh website in a panic, saw that they offered 24 hour emergency service, said a prayer and called. The guys were at my house within 15 minutes and handled the dangerous situation immediately. The total fix took about a week or so and involved a completely new electrical panel which they installed professionally and with as little interruption to my work-from-home life as possible. This kind of work is never cheap but I found their pricing to be very fair. Beyond their expert electrical knowledge, everyone I've worked with at Macintosh has been incredibly kind. I was a complete wreck the night that this happened and they could not have been more reassuring that everything was safe again and could be completely fixed. Macintosh Electric did some electrical work in my basement. I had 4 overloaded junction boxes all hitting 1 breaker, not ideal as with AC/Fan/Microwave on the breaker would tirp. Also my main issue was it made it difficult to do some basic DIY electrical stuff [ like adding a new outlet]. They had to contend with old BX line as well. The team knew exactly what I wanted and helped add a sub panel and break up the overloaded boxes back to the subpanel. All in 1 days work! I did not even lose power in my house for that long [2hr max]. Best part was they never tried to run up a tab on me. I had asked about upgrading to 200amp, and instead of running up a bill, he said with the size of the house and my future project list he didn't see a need for additional power. Very surprised and pleased to hear that. I will definitely keep Macintosh as top Yonkers electrician for my future projects. Fun team who do a great clean job. Great company. Called them at 9:30 pm on a week night because I had no electricity and they responded very prompt. After getting here, they actually drove around my neighborhood and saw it was Con Edison doing work and had shut off the power and they did not charge me anything for coming over. Since I don't know anything about electricity in the house, they could've really ripped me off, but instead they were very honest ad did the right thing. Even in emergency situations they go put of their way to get you quick service which immediately lowers one's blood pressue by 50 points. They were fast and accurate. Power to the house had not been updated in over 40 years and was overdo. Very large circuit breaker boxes were installed so that updating by adding more circuit breakers would be easy since there is space for them. I had power lines torn down by trees and winds, and all was put back with new equipment in a few days. They had to coordinate with Con Edison which they handled easily.
