I took my car here because of the good reviews. I took it in on a Friday afternoon right before…read morethey closed. They stated they would not be able to look at it till Saturday morning which was fine. About three or 4 o'clock they called me and said that it was going to be a rear wheel speed sensor. They called on Wednesday and said it was finished. I went to pick it up about five minutes before they close because I had just gotten off of work. I picked up the car about a mile down it was still doing the same thing. So I had it towed the next day because I did not want to cause any further damage to my car. They called me the next day said it was fixed and took me on a ride with one of the mechanics or the owner. He told me you have to baby it you can't just press on the gas and go. So he would press on the gas and then let back up some and it did get up to a certain speed. I drove it the next day and did what he said. My husband drove my car that afternoon and it was still making the same noise and doing the same thing. I took it to a dealership and have them put it on the diagnostic machine. And it was the catalytic converter. But I paid $400 for them to replace a part and the part that they replaced was actually a different kind of sensor that did remove the lights from my dash. The ABS light and two other lights so whatever sensor they replaced that they did fix that problem but they did not fix the main problem that I actually took it there for. I might take it back here because they did fix one issue but it was not the main issue that I needed fix. But I guess the dealership said that a catalytic converter would not come up on the diagnostic so but I would assume that most mechanics would be able to figure out that issue.

The short version of the story is that we had to go back to Mr. Transmission (535 Cassat Ave…read moreJacksonville) six weeks after a transmission repair at the tune of $2800 - of course stranded on the interstate! Nine days later the car is fixed again but I wanted the owner to call me about reimbursing the nine days of rental car because I shouldn't of had to rent a car in the first place! He won't even return my call he makes his office manager relay messages and hides behind the fine print on the back of the contract that says "they don't reimburse rental cars". Well if this was my first repair I wouldn't have asked for the rental car reimbursement but I shouldn't have to go back the second time! It turns out that Mr Transmission was given a faulty part but the owner should recoup the money from that parts business and not expect me to foot the bill for the rental car! They didn't charge me for the second repair, but that should go without saying. I would stay clear of this establishment that's nothing against the workers I just have a problem with the owner he won't even call me back that's not the way to run a business so owner buck up and do what's right! I will keep you updated if I do get some action out of this guy, but if he was doing right, he wouldn't be afraid to talk to me, but he knows what he is doing is wrong or he wouldn't have a problem talking with me! Don't hide behind some clause you have built into your work orders to keep from having to pay out money...that isn't the kind of business practice that made Mr. Transmission a 50 year, national company!!! The backlash from an unhappy customer (not a paid actor on some advertisement) and word of mouth on social media that paints a true picture of what is going on will cause more financial damage to a business than paying out a car rental bill - but some people just don't get that I guess. And the other thing the owner needs to remember is the core values that the Mr. Transmission website posts: "Through our core values of DRIVE, Dedication, Respect, Integrity, Vision and Enthusiasm, we value all human life and strive to have a positive impact for all nationally and within our communities" I copied and pasted that directly from the Moran Family of Brands parent company website for Mr. Transmission! DO WHAT IS RIGHT!!! I will review back with an update! Your move Mr. Transmission owner!

So really, all they did was the labor and it was less than $2K. Very affordable but. I got a fuel pump done recently and it was over $1,200 with them finding the parts and labor. Definitely overpriced. I got upset because the text message that the wife sent wasn't clear enough for me to know the final price was. After arguing with both the husband and the wife, I asked them to remove the parts. It took the husband less than 15 minutes to do it. I was being charged 3.6 hours at $145 an hour for a less than one hour job. YouTube has a step by step 30 minute video only one tool needed. Both of their responses were "we charge you for what we know not what we do". The husband doesn't even know English. I found all the parts for less than $350 on rockauto.com with guarantees and they were charging $440 parts for an Audi parts just because the cars come from the same maker. Only reason this isn't a one star is because the wife wasn't upset with me, even after I was rude. But they didn't even respect my car when they returned it.

Get an invoice before they do work, don't assume they are honest. They initially quoted me $750 and increased to $2,100 for additional repairs they pressured me to get without an invoice. They said the previous mechanic left bolts loose, etc. I had my previous mechanic come to EJ's to talk about the mistakes they found with his work. That's when my previous mechanic told me that they are liars & scammers. He was shocked that they gutted my car as it's unnecessary to remove the engine to replace the clutch. It's not necessary to remove my wheels to access the clutch. They also double-charged me for labor ($750 + $800) which they haven't broken down in the invoice. They've had my car for 2 weeks, gutted it, and let my car sit on the lot as they worked on other vehicles. I've been without transportation for 2 weeks. I'm paying car insurance for a vehicle that I haven't driven for 2 weeks. Every day they lie saying that my car will be ready by tomorrow. I assumed this place was trustworthy from the 5-star Google reviews. The labor time for my initially requested services to change the clutch is 3-6 hours. They said my engine had a major oil leak. They've added on more unnecessary repairs while keeping my car hostage. Their business isn't secured with a complete fence. I have severe anxiety that my rims or other car parts will be stolen. I have severe anxiety that my vehicle will not be repaired correctly by someone who only speaks spanish and may not even be certified. Every day that goes by that my car is not repaired, I panic. This is a Honda civic, they are easy cars to repair, they have several youtube videos on the clutch replacement steps for my model. I feel stupid for trusting this business. Scammers! Beware, they will ruin your $7,000 vehicle investment. I was just getting ready to sell it too. Having the clutch changed was my final issue before I sell it! Now i'm out $2,000, filing a BBB complaint, and will likely have to pay more money for someone else to fix their mistakes. Expensive lesson that I had to learn, but nobody deserves this.

My brake light came on I refilled it and the next morning all of it is on the ground near my rear tire. Drum seals gone(?) so I had it towed to a shop that had some great reviews "Aarons on Spring park" instead of sticking with Parts only because they were closer to where I live now. Aarons calls back yes Drums are gone and the cost to repair $700+ brand new brakes, drums etc. Hold up guys let me call you back and i call johnny and tell him what they said to me. he said Rick you do not need to have all that done and the price seems a little steep. Let me give you a rough estimate. $320+ tow after all was said and done tow and all the total was $385.14. So my recommendation take your car somewhere else have them do an estimate then call Johnny. Odds are you will do better here. DO NOT LOOK for warm and fuzzy and be direct with Johnny he is a mechanic, No I mean a real mechanic someone that would work on a car reach over and eat a Krispy Kreme without washing. I honestly do not think you could do better anywhere in town my brother also goes here and has for years. Not sure how he is Girl wise he is older and I would recommend maybe taking a Dude with you just in case.LOL

I feel so much better knowing I can have routine maintenance on my 4Runner and Ram 1500. Recently, Derek and Josh worked on my boyfriend's RAM - had all the parts in stock and was able to have the vehicle ready for me within a few hours (Radiator, Brakes and Rotors replaced). The very next day took the 4Runner and had oil change, battery replaced, spark plugs changed, brakes and rotors - got the vehicle back within 5 hours. There was no "This is going to take a few days" conversation - it was "if you want to proceed, give me a few hours". Location is convenient, the shop is nice, and the customer service is above average! You will not be disappointed in trusting these men to work on your vehicle!

Then he referred me to a tire shop that also gave me a good price on new tires, alignment, and balancing. Satisfied customer here, and I'll definitely recommend and come back again. We all need an honest mechanic and diagnostic expert like Geno, and I'm so glad I found him!
