I towed my car to Omega because my power steering fluid line needed to be replaced. They replaced it at about half of the cost I was quoted for at another place and gave me recommendations without feeling like I was getting upselled. I felt very comfortable - as a woman taking my car to an auto repair store has been a struggle. I'm glad I found this one. I did request an oil change as well and they let me know it was over $100 for them to do it so I declined, but it was nice of them to let me know their price. We have used Omega several times for both the old Landcruiser and my 2003 Acura since 2013. These guys are great mechanics and just overall good humans. And they are still reasonably priced whenever we take our cars in to be repaired or maintained. Very fair. My boyfriend trusts them with his baby (a 1990 Landcruiser) and has only taken his truck here since he moved to Jacksonville. I'm not sure why there are any negative reviews as Mark and Tony have only been honest and accommodating to us. Extremely approachable and family-oriented. They have given my boyfriend a ride home several times while his car was in the shop and some food homemade by Mark's mother in the food stand there on-site. That's just great customer service. I've been to dozens of great mechanics over the years and the guys here do a fantastic job. We get what's needed to be fixed in a timely manner and at a reasonable price. What more can you ask for? While driving down 295 my car made a funny noise, did a funny thing, and the check engine light came on. I took the next exit, checked Yelp to find the closest high rated mechanic and end up here. I immediately liked the vibe of the owner, relaxed yet clearly knowledgeable. He predicted the problem, then used fancy computer machines to make sure he was right. He suggested a tune-up but said I would be better off with a valve cover replacement (saying you basically get the labor for the tune-up for free). It's been a while since we've done any of these things so I agreed to bring the car back a few days later. Apparently this place is very busy so same day service isn't an option. I dropped my car off on Thursday morning and he called me later that afternoon to quote me the cost of the repairs. It was higher than I expected but I was in no position to quibble at the time. The total cost of the service was $687 (valve cover, tune up, oil change). I'm still having trouble justifying the price after checking several sites on line, but it's not so far off that I'm concerned about gouging. They finished on late Friday afternoon and I was told they were not open on weekends (although yelp has them listed as open on Saturday) so I could pick it up by 5pm or wait till Monday. No one wants to wait till Monday to get their car, so I had to think and move fast. I was pleased with the work they performed; he even showed me the frayed and worn old parts that badly needed replacing. I don't think this would be my first choice for services in the future, but it's not a place I'd avoid. To Review: Good vibes; not very convenient due to having to wait days to get your car in and not being open on the weekend, and then not being able to guarantee your car will be done by the end of the day; might be on the pricey side so be careful; does good work. I decided to take my vehicle here because of the stellar reviews and I was trying to save some money. I did not have the pleasure of dealing with Mark because he was out of town and another owner was there at the time. Long story short I ended paying a diagnostic fee($60 I believe), almost had to pay for a part that was ordered and didn't work fix the issue $240(the part had more wear and tear than the existing part on my truck), made four trips here having to be picked up by my wife every time and the issue related to my vehicle was still unknown and unresolved. I was told to take my vehicle to the dealership so I they can verify the exact issue and if I take it back here they would beat the dealership's estimate. I took my vehicle to the dealership, they found the issue in less than an hour fixed it by the next day and was given a 2016 loaner. If you have an older vehicle take it here. If you have a newer one take it to the dealership or elsewhere. read more

Is it kind of crowded with a bunch of older cars? Yes! Is it your typical garage? No! I honestly felt like I was part of their family when I was there. Every time I go to an auto repair place for routine service, I am always told about "other" repairs they feel they need to do. Omega isn't like that! By recommendation, I stopped by to have a check engine light diagnosed. Mark was more than accommodating to stop what he was doing to check out my car and found out that I needed some work done. He was available to take me car in the next day. I was called with the list of required service and agreed on what to do at that time. I'm traveling the United States in a 1984 Toyota Sunrader. It can be challenging to find a mechanic that is willing to work on a carbureted vehicle, especially when that vehicle is a 21' long camper. DO NOT USE THEM BECAUSE I THINK THEY ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKS! My husband has used them for 3 of our cars and every time (except the first time we used them) we brought the cars home, we have had to take them back the next day because they came back worst than they left (i.e. won't start or making extremely loud noises). The last straw was when my husband took his work van there because it was making a squealing noise. Omega diagnoised that the ball joint was messed up on the passenger side so we paid them $600 for the work. My husband brought the car home and the next day he was unable to drive the car because it was making a really loud banging noise and would not drive straight. He took it back to Omega and they claimed that the ball joint on the driver side was broke. ??? Why didn't they diagnose this the day before when they inspected the car? I do not know. This would have saved us (the customer) time and money. Honestly, I think they are either doing this on purpose or they just don't know what they are doing. How they have a 4.2 rating is beyond me. Personally, I think it is from one time users because the first time they fixed out car, it was a great price and they did a great job. read more

I wanted to like this place. But I had a very bad experience and would not recommend this shop. I had an issue where all the power steering fluid was leaking out of my car and the steering was very hard to use. I took the car in, and initially they were very pleasant, gave a quick estimate and did the repair fairly quickly. I paid over $600 for the repair, which seemed fair given the parts price. But the repair was not done correctly. Like, at all. It didn't seem quite right at first, and we brought it right back in and they said "someone had forgotten to tighten something," and "fixed it" real quick. Less than 2 months later, and the same exact symptoms I had before the repair had returned. Literally it was as if the repair had never been done, and this was AFTER I had paid them to replace an expensive rack and pinion. They admitted to absolutely nothing, and had the nerve to try to convince us that we had taken the car for an oil change (which we hadn't, actually) and those oil change technicians must have bent something in the steering system because they are disreputable and wanted to cause a problem that would then need fixing. How can they accuse another shop of doing such a thing when the whole problem was caused by THEM not fixing the problem the first time? Literally no one touched it but them. Now i'm wondering if I even needed a new (expensive) rack and pinion, because obviously whatever the real issue was had not been fully resolved. I would never ever go there again because of their lack of skill at identifying and fixing the real problem, and then trying to blame others to weasel out of repairing it again for free, without admitting their responsibility whatsoever. Somehow they actually milked another $89 out of my husband for this last "repair" to fix their own botched work. I just wish I could go back in time and go somewhere else. Stay away! read more
