Wheelchair accessibility: accessible parking across the street with a crosswalk; the front door is heavy so you're gonna either need help or be able to open a heavy door and there's actually two doors but plenty of room to maneuver between. the path of travel wasn't bad and there's wheelchair accessible seating in the back of the restaurant. There is no wheelchair accessible seating in the bar area. The bathroom door was light .The accessible stall in the women's bathroom had a grab bar, but there was not sufficient turning radius and the soap was up a little high.

Who hired these so-called chefs? Where did they get their degree? Do they even have one? We go out to eat so rarely. I'm a fantastic cook myself, so when we go out, we want the food we order to be better than what I can make at home. Especially at $30 a plate. So, alas, they get 2 stars, for the excellent service, the delicious oysters, and the beautiful ambiance. They apologized profusely and took my horrible dinner off our bill. I've been a faithful, frequent MacKenzie River customer since they first arrived here in Billings. The pizzas have always been terrific, the sandwiches solid, and the salads were some of the best in town. Tack on a fantastic beer selection and I was sold. But the last few meals I've had have been sub-par. Thus, it pains me to say I likely won't be going back anytime soon. If ever. Yesterday, my wife and I stopped in for an early dinner. I'd never had their new hamburgers and thought I'd try the Grizzly variable listed on the menu. Advertised, it boasts a thick patty with basic toppings; a standard hamburger with waffle fries for some $9 and change. And I was hungry. When it was placed in front of me, (promptly - they have that going for them), I was immediately disappointed at how sad this thing looked. "There's nothing here for me," I said to my wife. "This plate of food wants us to vacate - I can feel it." But I dove in anyway: The buns were dry and burned with some deep and aggressive grill marks - "toasted", isn't the right word. The lettuce, defeated, drooped flaccidly from the sides. And I had to completely soak the burger in their generic yellow mustard. The patty was...bad. So dry. Cooked in the well-done to jerky range; overcooked. It reminded me of a backyard burger you'd get from some half-drunk frat kid who'd neglected his grill. And the waffle fries. They had a greasy sheen to them. I dumped a considerable amount of ketchup on the plate to get them gone, and it worked for awhile, but once I got to the bottom of the small pile, I found a grouping of inch-long charred frier remnants. Curling bits of jet-black crispiness that should have found the trash instead of our TAB. I wasn't happy. Neither was my wife. But that's her fault so we won't mention the specifics here. "I forgot," she said, stirring her mess of Tao salad. "I ordered this last time and it was horrible." Mistakes were made, but that shows you how long it's been since we've crossed their threshold. The place is slipping. I'd also like to note that my drinking glass had what appeared to be the residue of chap stick, or something similar. The only plus? The service there is fantastic and always has been. Our server was friendly, attentive, and most certainly deserving of our tip. That's important. So, here's to MacKenzie getting their stuff in a pile and making this restaurant into what it used to be. I wish them the best. read more

Don't operate a Montana themed business with a tattooed, short tempered Texan as a hostess (also, don't all. Try to clean the bathrooms more frequently than weekly. Train you back help how to prepare a meal in under an hour. Our waitress was great- perhaps the only thing that was great. Food was average at best. read more
