3 1/2 out of 5. Have refused to eat here for the last 7 1/2 years since they gouged us for my Grandson's Grilled Cheese Sandwich. They charged us the same price as their premium sandwiches since it was a "custom order". Really felt taken advantage of. Time heals most taste buds... er... wounds, so I agreed to try them for lunch. This growing Montana based chain offers decent pizza and a good beer selection in a pleasant venue. We ordered a large Bear Tooth Sausage pizza. Pretty damn good pie with a properly chewy crust and fresh toppings. A little light on the sausage, but good. Visiting from California. Stopped by here on 4th of July. Got the stockman pizza (ordered crispy but came out normal) the bread had good flavor and tasted good. We randomly stopped at the MacKenzie River Pizza Company when we drove through town during a oradtrip and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality. We ended up stopping for a late lunch during the week, so we definitely were not there during peak hours, but we received excellent and courteous service from our waitress. The restaurant has a staggeringly large menu, so it can be a little overwhelming to make a selection, but if you're going to a place that has pizza in the name, it seems to be a safe bet that the pizza will be decent. I ended up ordering the BBQ chicken pizza and found it to be super flavorful and there was actually plenty of chicken on it. So, the meal was filling and there was still more to take home. Visiting Montana for the first time and this was the first place I chose to eat. Solid choice for modern food. I ordered the cowboy nachos with fajita chicken. The portion was huge. They were very good, but a little on the dry side, the cheese being overly melted. The reason for 4 stars is that even though they weren't remotely busy, no one was at the podium when I came in. It took about 10 minutes and 2 more parties coming in to get someone to seat us, even though the workers in the back could see us clearly. Alex is a friendly and funny server, but I would like to advise him to be more solicitous of patrons, i. e. I had to ask for water and wine refills. He has great potential! read more

Obvs folks are not motivated to serve or make decent food. Everything ended up being cold. Took an hour and a half for pizza and salad. One of the worst waitresses ever. Food quality very poor. We were making our way through Montana and always made it a point to stop at Mackenzie River Pizza. We stopped at this location and I wish I could post a better review. The pizza was soggy, the Cajun pasta was just ok and I am pretty sure its what made us sick in the evening. Plus the restaurant was dirty. The busboy/girl was rude when I asked her to please clean the food off the floor from the previous patron before we sat down. We ended up sitting outside because where they wanted us to sit was just a mess. The two stars are for our waitress because she was super nice and helpful. read more

The Poutine consisted of undercooked fries (they promised crispy), what tasted like canned gravy and the cheese curds weren't fresh. Ordered the Rancher pizza without green peppers. Super comfortable seating, generous portions of pasta. I tried the Buffalo Mack and it was okay -- flavor was kind of lost in the sheer amount of cheese sauce. Baked chicken alfredo is tons better though, and the zucchini is a pleasantly interesting addition. **You have to try the Huckleberry Cheesecake.** One slice was too much for us two people, but it was honestly the best dessert I've ever had. read more

First time here while visiting my brother. We had exceptional service by Rebekah. She was everything you would want in a server. Friendly, helpful, honest, and attentive. So agreeable to our wishes and needs. We ordered a combination of delicious appetizers, salads, and drinks which massaged our pallets. Rebekah understood we wanted to wait to order our hot main entrees until we finished enjoying our cold starters. She gave us time and came back right at the appropriate time when we were ready to order. Her timing and understanding were impeccable! She obviously has been well trained by the management and her personality was allowed to shine. She honestly looked like she enjoyed her job. She knew the menu and didn't hesitate to give her opinions and facts about what others usually order. Just a breath of fresh air in a time period where good service is a rarity. Great place for this weary traveler! I was looking for a bite to eat after a long day of driving, this the restaurant was next to my hotel. I had a bbq chicken flatbread with yummy balsamic drizzle, a Cobb salad that had more items than lettuce, and topped it off with a flourless chocolate cake. Generic, run of the mill food. I've been coming here for the last 15 years (not of my own choosing) and the service progressively gets slower and slower. It took an hour to get our appetizers. Then our food arrived about 20 minutes later. The wait staff seems extremely stressed and rushed even though the restaurant was virtually empty. I had the Hot Hawaiian, it was great! Thick crust with plenty of pineapple, jalapeños, and bacon. The BBQ sauce was smoky and not too sweet. I also tried some of the skillet cookie and apple cobbler, both were tasty. The skillet cookie was perfectly gooey. I came here with a small group of 5 and we had a really wonderful experience. I've never been a fan of Grape Nuts cereal but when I had it in my house salad I was delighted. It's a standard topping for the salad along with pears for the house salad. I loved that it was a little different than most house salads at pizza joints. We had the thin crust pizza and I was really impressed with how crisp the crust stayed even though we had a bunch of wet ingredients. In fact, the crust kept its crisp even 20 minutes after it was delivered to our table. It just cooled down and became more like a cracker than bread. Our fave was the Rancher with seasoned beef, pepperoni, bacon, tomato, red onion & green pepper. We also had the Athenian and the BBQ chicken but were not as impressed. Refills on our sodas were quick. Service was friendly though and I did not notice the slow or dopey service mentioned in other reviews. This would have to be my favorite place in Great Falls besides the Sip and Dip. read more
