What a fun place! The exposed duct work and rustic decor, including an upside down boat sheltering several tables, positively screams Montana. This strikes me as a terrific place for families or for laid-back fourth or fifth dates. Very unpretentious and an admirable project to donate to Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. As for the food, I was generally pleased but not head-over-heels. The spinach salad was quite fresh, if unimaginative, with a soy-sauce based vinaigrette. I thoroughly enjoyed the local Mountain Man Strong Ale on tap. It was served too cold for my palate, but opened up nicely to flavors of caramel, banana and spun sugar as it warmed. Was it a beer to move mountains a la Oskar Blues Old Chub? No, of course not. But how can we not admire and thoroughly enjoy the Great Falls Front Brewing Company for this worthy initiative. It made me smile and for that I enjoyed it immensely. The veggie pizza was good, not great. The veggies were properly dried so as not to weep into the crust and render it soggy (a huge, huge peeve of mine). However, the thin crust didn't entirely stand up. It bordered on a thick tortilla more than a true crust. It lacked either the crunch or chewiness that it would need to really stand out. And let's face it, a pizza is only as good as it's crust. The crust actually firmed up as it cooled, making for a nice lesson in patience when taken in context with the beer. This is a 3 1/2 star establishment. But since it has to be one way or another, it's just not 4-star quality. So 3 it is. Oh just one more thing (to properly channel Steve Jobs): the booths were oddly and extremely far from the table. My office LOVES ordering Mackenzie River for our office lunches. Generally speaking- when the order is correct, the food is great. The past 4 times I have ordered lunch to go, the order has been incorrect. Missing salads, missing ingredients, toppings added to salads that didn't belong. I have called and voiced my concerns and they sent a $15 gift card- which was nice. When placing an order and using that gift card- my house salad was absent. It's a shame that an amazing restaurant with delicious food can't deliver the same awesome food with the same accuracy for take out orders as you get while dining in. This spot is by far an excellent place for all newcomers that are stationed here along with locals from the enriched community. My wife and I are very pleased with our server Alex who had the most humblest and energetic attitude while attending to our every need. We ordered the Poutine and the Good 'Ol Boy pizza, couldn't have enough of the Poutine. The texture and taste just blended together so well, even to the bottom of the plate. The Good 'ol Boy pizza (original) had a huge amount of pepperonis on it as advertised and the skills of the cooks brings to the table the soft/crunchy crust without being undercooked and burnt. I applaud the atmosphere of this restaurant because of the subtle choice of music and the quality of interesting views of the river from your table. read more

We came to have pizza on the advice of our kayak guide and we were so glad we tried this pizza place. We started with a Thai salad and Lodgepoles and both were good especially the Lodgepoles which were so cheesy. We then had a half Flathead and Veggie thin crust pizza. It was me, my boyfriend and out Son eating, yet all four times she checked on us she only spoke to my partner and completely ignored the fact that I was even there. Versus coming back n forth asking what to replace this one and this one with since you are out. Also, know what you are bring out. Had my daughters birthday dinner there last night, eight in the party. Ordered the Jalapeno Popper dip with blue tortilla chips for an appetizer. The dip was really good and was served with fresh sliced jalapenos. For main entree we got a large pizza, half Sedona and half Bistro. The bistro was supposed to have prosciutto, pears and balsamic sauce. The prosciutto was actually just Canadian bacon and the pears were cut into chunks and weren't ripe so they were rather tasteless. The balsamic sauce was just balsamic salad dressing instead of a reduction sauce. The Sedona was much better. The chipotle and avocado sauces on the top married the grilled corn, black beans, cilantro and chicken. Very tasty. Our server was attentive and very nice. read more

Great setting by the river, we got a patio table. Menu ha wide range of options aside from Pizza. Also good range of local brewed beer and ciders. We ordered a large Mackenzie river to share and was plenty for two. Calorie count on many of the items is alarming but at least you can make an informed choice. Went in today with family prior to a flight. Ordered and promptly one of the beer glasses broke off at the bottom, soaked two of the members of our party in beer. Waitress just sat there and looked at us funny, then took the glass and ran off to her manager. We took it upon ourselves to get napkins and a good few minutes later she came back with a single bar towel. Small pizza, salad, and sandwich came out after almost an hour. We are in town for a wedding and ate at MacKenzie River Pizza Company for lunch. We chose this place because this is where my cousin went on her first date with her husband. The location is great as it is along the Missouri River. The service was a little slow, but it was worth the wait as this was some of the best pizza I've ever had. I ordered the small Caribbean Chicken pizza on thin crust and it was delicious. It has a little sweetness and a little heat, but overall the flavors were amazing. The dough is delicious, they give you an option of thin or regular crust. Loved the atmosphere, it's in a very cute spot next to the river and if you eat outside you can see the view. We went for a family dinner. The food was only okay. My son got the pizza which turned out to be the best thing of the night. We had the artichoke dip to start and while not the worst I've had Applebee's is better. I got the ravioli and my husband got the longhorn sandwich. By far the best pizza I ever had, I am gona have to minus one star becuz of the service. Service was a little slow and disorganized. We had a rehearsal dinner here and they said we could be seated and when we did there wasnt enough chairs or room. There was some people seated in booths and tables so we couldnt really see or talk to everyone like we wanted to.
